Did you also get a retention offer last year?
I don't remember if got one last year or if it was the year before.
Did you also get a retention offer last year?
It should have said you'd receive a letter. If you can't think of a good reason why they denied you, it might be worth a call. It's possible it could be id verification but I don't know if an instant denial would be for that.
You don't have any fraud alerts set up or credit reports frozen? Not that I think you'd forget if you did just tossing more ideas out.
Do you have other chase cards? It could be you have too much credit extended from them related to your income. Then you could agree to move credit from an already open chase personal card.
The strategy worked & I just posted it.
Does anyone here do ebay? I seem to remember reading a while ago that ebay shipping no longer gave 3% back on CIP. Is that the case even though it codes like this: PAYPAL *EBAYINCSHIP ?
I would test it but I have not been able to get ebay to charge my account's shipping to a credit card, it uses paypal balance. However, I just realized that my husbands small account automatically charges his CSR for shipping. I would try changing to his CIP to test but every time I mess with an ebay / Paypal payment method, it messes something up that I end up having to call to fix. If it codes as 3x shipping on CIP, it will be worth it. I really hate that ebay makes it difficult to charge a card for shipping, even if only for accounting purposes.
ETA: I have to look into Pirateship.
I'm watching for this answer too.... still waiting on my points to be returned..... I finally listened and put the amount in my spreadsheet so I will know when I get them!First question - is there a way to see returned points to your URs account?
Back story: Cancelled cruise in March, waiting on refund through Chase's cruise agency. In total I used 198,453 points towards to separate cruise reservations (family of 6). I was hovering around 56,000 points then boom, I'm at 215,000 pts. Logically I'm thinking they returned the one reseveration points (151,153) but not the 2nd reservation with 47,300 pts. However, I can't confirm because its now showing under account activity.
Second question: is there a 1-800 number specifically for rewards issues? Granted, I think they'll send me to the Chase Cruise agency who will just tell me it's in Chase's hands.
I can’t see the refund on mine. What I can see when I go to activity is that my booking from February was refunded so it used 0 points. Doesn’t show when it was refunded.I'm watching for this answer too.... still waiting on my points to be returned..... I finally listened and put the amount in my spreadsheet so I will know when I get them!
I just wanted to reach out to @SouthFayetteFan and say thank you again for all of the great advice and guidance you so unselfishly shared with me and all of the other’s in the forum.
The main reason I am reaching out today, is because it was exactly 1 year ago that I found this Credit Card Thread on the Dis and made the first post to start on this journey. You reached out to me and gave me a ton of information, step by step guidance to apply for my first business card, and a card strategy that went beyond the end of the year. It has been a very interesting and exciting year to say the least. Since starting, P2 and I have amassed 15 new cards between us, 13 business and 2 personal. Looking over some of the numbers, we have earned a little over 755,000 Chase UR’s, 200,000 AA, and 58,000 more Wells Fargo Rewards. Valuing everything at 1 CPP, we have earned a little over $10,000, and have had about $855 in annual card fees. We were all set to use some of our new found point earnings to take a 2 week long bucket list trip to Germany, France, and Austria visiting my sister. Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to all of the virus travel restrictions/issues, but we will make some new plans when all of this craziness finally ends.
Again, I cannot thank @SouthFayetteFan enough for the great advice and personal guidance in this little game we play.

This is how I see it as well. Very difficult when the use was 6+ months ago and you have to go back to find the 0s. I wish they just showed refunds separately when they happened.I can’t see the refund on mine. What I can see when I go to activity is that my booking from February was refunded so it used 0 points. Doesn’t show when it was refunded.
Thanks! It was all able to be done with the great resource that this thread is and all of the great folks sharing their experiences and information.nice stash!
Nice stash. I don’t have that much and we’re 2 player. Is there a place to see extended dates on the FNC? Does It show up in your account?I had a room booked in June at Marriott in Ocean City for my son and girlfriend. They are not going - elderly parents and they don't want to take any risks that will prevent visits to them. So I'm thinking of going myself but switching to Residence Inn. With full kitchen I can bring food and they also supply grab and go in place of breakfast.
Also have 3 nights in July booked at the Hyatt Ocean City. They are also doing grab and go breakfast and require face masks in the hotel. Hyatt has also raised the points required to 20K for a night there, so I'm on my free night plus 2 nights booked at 15K each. The cash value on the room for three nights is now $1994.67. Or about $630 a night. Just in high season though. Can get it under $100 in cold weather. I expected the point jump but figured the price would stay closer to last years $450 plus tax.
I'm definitely going for these nights. Next year I will not be able to use the free night since the points have gone up, but I'll use it somewhere. The annual fee is $75 on that free night so pretty much can't lose.
I'll also have to transfer UR's for next summer. So this will be my CSP year. Will apply later in the fall after I get to under 5/24. Fortunately I already have a stash of UR's that I can transfer so I should be good for 2021 and 2022. After that the rooms will probably need a rehab and something else will be looking better!
The plan was to get a CIP but looks like that's not viable anymore. You win some and you lose out on some.
Still going back and forth in my mind on my November Disney trip. Right now, considering reducing it to 5 nights at BWV and maybe doing some offsite nights on the beaches with my free night certs. By then I'll have quite a stash, outside of if I use any more in Ocean City in August. Due to extended use by dates I'll have about 8 Marriott, 2 IHG, a Hyatt night and quite a few Radisson points.
Yes, I echo what you wrote about @SouthFayetteFan and this thread. His servant's heart and patience toward us newbs as we learn the game has been invaluable.I just wanted to reach out to @SouthFayetteFan and say thank you again for all of the great advice and guidance you so unselfishly shared with me and all of the other’s in the forum.

Hmmm, was this for a cruise? I ask because when I go under "My Trips" it has nothing to show and never did. I just assumed it was because it was a cruise and I had to call it in.I can’t see the refund on mine. What I can see when I go to activity is that my booking from February was refunded so it used 0 points. Doesn’t show when it was refunded.

I believe someone did mention this several pages back, about a week or so ago. I forget who it was. But after they posted about it, I went and checked and saw it on mine too. Never did get an email from Discover about it, so they just "quietly" added it for June. We have already made purchases from HD in the past week on our Discover to take advantage of this.I don't recall seeing this posted here (I'm only reading sporadically these days) but I just logged on to my Discover card account and saw that Home Depot has been added to the 5% back categories for this quarter (June).
