Trying to figure out next card. Both DH and I are 3/24. Was going to try for the SW Personal card just to get more SW Points but now don't think that is a good idea. Got CIP in June, SW Performance BIz in October and SW Premier in January (with some other biz card thrown in). Thinking it may a bit much with the SW Biz card I just got in January.

AMEX - have not tried in a while but both of us were getting pop ups.

Then was reading about the Citi Premier with Thank You Points. Current offer is 60,000 points with $4,000 spend. So, if reading correctly that 60,000 points would equal $750 in TYP which could be Disney Tickets... Is this a pretty good offer - has it gone higher? If DH and I both get this card are we able to combine points. Neither of us have had any TYP Cards.

Would like the SW Card before the bonus goes away on the 10th but think it might be good to lay of Chase for a bit. DH can't get any SW cards until March/April.

Looking at all the hotel cards you guys talk about but not sure if they would benefit us right now. We usually go to Disney or take cruises. Any suggestions??

Just made my second attempt to transfer my cruise on Royal to Chase.
A few days ago the girl told me I had to call Royal and they had to transfer it to Chase.

I just talked to another girl who said she could handle the transfer but the system was down and to call back.
I asked her if since I already paid the deposit I would just need to wait until finish payment and then pay with whatever points I had.
She said no, when they take over my reservation today I’d have to make a payment with whatever points I have today and then use my card for the rest at final payment. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I will never get tired of taking "free" trips to Disney World! Below is my summary of how we made our $9,148 all-in rack rate trip happen for nothing!!
  • Round-trip flights for 4 on Southwest (thanks free change loophole for some savings)
  • 4 Nights at Yacht Club - Water View (on a discount that saved us about $746 vs. rack rate as shown below)
  • 3 Nights at Contemporary - Theme Park View (rack rate due to using miles with an OTA)
  • Dining Plan for first 4 nights, OOP for the remainder of trip
  • I totally get that the ~$3,800 cashed out could have gone to anything...but I don't think I would be playing this game if it wasn't helping me reach my travel goals, so I'm calling that travel offset!! :D
470635

This was my last trip where my older daughter was <10 so we did a "best of Dining Plan Value" tour...
  • Garden Grill, Cape May, Akershus, Ohana which totaled $768.93 if paid OOP
  • We also hit a BoG breakfast (at 10:30 as our "lunch") which would've cost $95.85
  • We paid $868 for the whole dining plan!
  • I know it's Disney math...but I'm fairly certain we got an additional $4 of value out of the other 3 QS meals, 32 snacks, and 4 refillable mugs! 🤣 🤣
Other OOP dining costs included The Plaza (which is out last day tradition), Crystal Palace late Breakfast (as our "lunch"), Satuli Canteen (which was excellent), and a couple other QS meals.

Souven'ears were purchased in increments >$50 and I used my 10% Disney Rewards Redemption Discount on a rewards card (from a couple of support clicks via Facebook friends).

And that can be done using secure messaging using the Chase app, correct? Do I just say, "hi, i'd like to lower my CSR limit to $5k?" Kinda shocked I haven't had to do this yet considering how many cards we have lol....
I haven’t done it on the app... but yes I say...I’d like to lower the credit limit on my card ending xxxx to $5k,

on the SW cards...the bonus is available until 2/17 with a support link

Didn't DH get another one, though? Were both of them together more than $600?

The 1099MISC is for how much income Chase paid an individual, kinda regardless for where it came from. So once you cross that threshold, all of whatever they think is income is reported. If it came from different sides of the business it's possible to get multiple forms to make up the whole amount. Or I might have read getting separate forms for EIN vs SSN businesses, or something like that. But the threshold is not so much about how much is on an individual form, but how much was paid to an individual SSN.

Not saying they couldn't choose to send it for less but anyone who received only one for less is more an anomaly and most likely is missing mail. In the FAQs sent with the form they mention creating the 1099s for individual who they paid at least $600
and it is aggregated across all accounts or loans. However you may receive a form for amounts under $600 based on each account or loan (which should equal $600 or more when tallied together).
He did have another one for $750 because of our mortgage.

While I personally did this the opposite way......called Chase and had them make the reservation for me (I even gave them the two rooms I wanted and they had no issue reserving it). I can say I paid with all my points that day (over two rooms). I asked if I had to pay the rest of the balance ($3300) today and she said no, I had till the final due date. I did happen to ask if I received more points between that date and final payment, could I apply those and she said no. I'm not sure if that was just because points could only be added once (seems to be the case) or if it was because the reservation was already made. Hope that helps. The customer service I found was super helpful though the several times I've called. I'm even planning on calling this week to prepay my gratuities.

This is GREAT to hear! We did the BIG 10 day Disney/Universal trip Nov 2018 using SPG for Dolphin, Barclay Arrival+, CO Venture's.......I figured since all/most of those are a one time thing we'd never be able to really look at Disney again. I'm aware of cash back options but still never really thought to use it this way. Kinda thought....ehhh, we'll look at Disney in 5+ years. Welllll.........kids are begging to go back again. So, mind sharing what cards were used/explaining a bit better what "Other miles/points redeemed" and "Other miles/Points cashed out" cards were used?

I have 3 Chase cards with about $80k limits. One card carries $30k in limits, does nothing for me, but has no fee so I keep it open. I suppose I should close it to make it easier to open new Chase cards going forward? Also, another Chase card (the CF) has $35k limits, which is much more than it needs. Can I, and should I, ask to have it lowered?
PS: I have more than enough limits on all my cards that my usual monthly spend is between 2% and 4% of limits so there are no worries about upsetting my balances to limits ratio.

It is super easy to lower by SM as detailed above. Just to make it simple I usually do a separate SM for each card. If you have the Reserve it needs to have a minimum $10,000 credit limit. Chase looks at overall credit limits (across personal and business) which is why it is beneficial to not keep them too high. It opens up your future options.

It is good to ”see“ you on this thread. You might be on other places on the Dis but this thread is pretty much the only one I am consistently on as it is my home. :)

Just saw that I got hit with the annual fee for my CSR and SW performance biz today. Ouch. Just need to remind myself of the flights that will be booked with all those points and the 1.5 redemption I will get with the CSR.

Well one major offset of $2,400 came by way of a strategy that no longer is as lucrative as it once was. Although you can still get one of each card and stay under the radar I think. More on that HERE.

Primarily the vast majority of my cashback came via cashing out URs. Considering that there are 4 personal and 3 business cards that earn URs as well as some advanced strategies around those cards, it's possibly to earn $3k - $4k in cash back in a 12 month span in single player mode (and more than double that in 2 player mode).

Other little pieces of cashback were had via booking travel for family members who reimbursed me (i.e. using airline miles or URs). I essentially view that as "cashing out points". And I cut them a little break on the cost so it's a win/win.

Don’t forget to factor in that it will take 8-12 weeks for your FN certs to show up after the MSR
Good to know. Hoping to have DH’s FN cert to use at the end of July. You’d think this is early enough, but I may sadly be cutting it close if it takes 8-12 weeks after MSR. Appreciate the reminder though.

Does anyone know if Boardwalk ticketing codes as travel for WDW tickets? TPs ticket finder says that's the cheapest route for me.

Got instant approval for Capital One Venture on Friday with cross support from DH. The $100 statement credit showed up on his account the same day as the approval. :woohoo: The plan is to use these miles for a Disneyland trip if I can get my boys' summer baseball schedules to cooperate.

This was the last card I needed to get my family GE. We used CSR, SW Performance x2, and Capital One Venture x2. I know if you've been in this game awhile you you may already have enough cards with the credit, but I think the Venture with a 50,000 SUB, $100 statement credit for support clicks, and no annual fee for the first year make it a pretty good card.

Applied for DD14 on Saturday, she got conditional approval today. Go to see how long for appointments...no appointments available within a 5 hour drive. Nothing for the airports we will be at in the next two months, Orlando, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. Or even this summer in Boston or Maine. I applied in August and got an appointment in November. I guess I just have to hope something opens up. I mean can all those locations really have all interviews scheduled for the entire year?

Ok! Good to know! I'm just starting down the AA path and while I know it wont be as lucrative in the past, its something.

Likely will use all our UR on a cruise since its 1.5x vs just cash out, but I get what you mean that for you its was worth the value. Just thought I was missing out on some other "secret" like maybe those Citi TY points used to buy tickets.

Yeah nothing really special there! Chase has rendered my strategy boring (but very lucrative) currently. I'm just gonna keep plowing away there until something changes or something better presents itself!

JUST ANNOUNCED: Disney Bringing Hamilton Movie with Original Broadway Cast to Theaters

FEBRUARY 3, 2020

By Zach Johnson

Look around! Look around at how lucky we are! Today, The Walt Disney Company, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jeffrey Seller, and Thomas Kail announced an agreement for the worldwide distribution rights that will bring Hamilton—the 11-time-Tony Award®-, Grammy Award®-, Olivier Award-, and Pulitzer Prize-winning stage musical—to movie screens. The film will be released by The Walt Disney Studios in the United States and Canada on October 15, 2021.

“Lin-Manuel Miranda created an unforgettable theater experience and a true cultural phenomenon, and it was for good reason that Hamilton was hailed as an astonishing work of art. All who saw it with the original cast will never forget that singular experience,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “And we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share this same Broadway experience with millions of people around the world.”

The original Broadway cast appearing in the film include Tony Award winners Miranda as Alexander Hamilton; Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson; Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler; and Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr; Tony Award nominees Christopher Jackson as George Washington; Jonathan Groff as King George; Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton; and Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds; Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison; and Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

The cast also includes Carleigh Bettiol, Ariana DeBose, Hope Easterbrook, Sydney James Harcourt, Sasha Hutchings, Thayne Jasperson, Elizabeth Judd, Jon Rua, Austin Smith, Seth Stewart, and Ephraim Sykes. Film producers include Miranda, Seller, and Kail, who also directs.

“I fell in love with musical storytelling growing up with the legendary Howard Ashman-Alan Menken Disney collaborations—The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin,” said Miranda. “I’m so proud of what Tommy Kail has been able to capture in this filmed version of Hamilton—a live theatrical experience that feels just as immediate in your local movie theater. We’re excited to partner with Disney to bring the original Broadway company of Hamilton to the largest audience possible.”

The film of the original Broadway cast performing Hamilton is a leap forward in the art of “live capture,” as it will transport audience into the world of the Broadway show in a uniquely intimate way. Combining the best elements of live theater and film, the result is a cinematic stage performance that is a wholly new way to experience Hamilton. “We are thrilled for fans of the show, and new audiences across the world, to experience what it was like on stage—and in the audience—when we shot this at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016,” said Kail. “We wanted to give everyone the same seat, which is what this film can provide.”

big news at my house this morning. Although dd is annoyed we have to wait so long.

We had 2 AFs posted this month and I think both are keepers:
SW Priority & BonBlah Biz. $149 + $99

My Delta Gold Biz will post next month, I'm going to have to keep that one too because they wouldn't give me the personal one and we have a trip this summer where we will need to check in 2 bags. plus it has the Staples & Lowe's 10% offer.

And DH's Bonblah Brillant will post in March $450, will downgrade 11/2020.
