I don’t want anybody to panic cash-out their URs just because I cashed out. I did it because I REALLY don’t have a viable travel use for them in 2020 and I’ll replace a bunch of them within 3 months anyways.

Ok - Frozen II about to start so ttyl! 🤣
I still have a bunch or URs and value the 1.5x redemption or transfer to places like JB and United. I think I am going to risk it and wander "Into the UNKOOOOOOOOOOOOWN" (You will get it after the movie :thumbsup2). Enjoy and tell Bruni I said hi!

Unfortunately, that’s outdated since the PHX lounge did not open at the end of Nov as listed. It’s now slated for sometime early next year. Hopefully before April when we are there :)
I'm hoping for the JFK lounge before August.

Thanks, same to you!
(please excuse the mess and the size of the pic, on phone and not sure how really huge it may be)

After our Charlie Brown tree fiasco, I gave up. I simply solved the problem. We needed a coffin... er, a tree...so I replaced it as best I could. Voilà.
;)

We've already started airing our grievances?!
Oh I have... actually I might not even finish up by Christmas...

This is great!!! AND a Christmas Vacation reference?!? 🤣 😍

Looking also at my Marriott points, as I have a half million or so, plus 5 free nights.

I've got 4 DVC vacations booked in 2020.
January - 11 to 19 including drive down and back home - with my GD's at BWV and HH.
February 10-21, mostly at BWV - leave home on the 9th and return on the 22nd.
March at Hilton Head in a 2 bedroom for spring break. Not sure when we will leave or return but we are there starting on the 15th. May stop in Charleston for a night. Or even Myrtle Beach where some friends just moved and would like to have us visit.
November - Oct 30 to Nov 7 for Food and wine staying at BWV.

Plus a couple or three of beach trips to Ocean City Maryland in summer...
This leaves me starting to plan for 2021. And the Marriott points/certificates.

I am thinking of doing something in Florida for a couple of weeks in February to coincide with family being at their house in Reunion. I want to book a few DVC nights but make it mostly a Marriott trip to knock out some points before Marriott devalues them completely.
So, I've decided on a circle tour. Down the east coast and up the west coast back to Disney by President's Day. This is a thought, and all subject to change but there are quite a few interesting properties to look at.

We are using the last of our Marriott points in Hawaii this week. Our points have taken us to Disneyland, Aruba, and Brussels plus a few random nights added on to other vacations. I loved all these stays- might have to figure out how to get me some more points!

Do you mean JFK or LGA? LGA is open and JFK is sometime early next year and is supposed to be the largest in the country. Followed by Denver when it opens.
meant jfk sorry I avoid lGA (not sure why ) even though JFK is a mess.
yeah I remember it was supposed to be huge. I still have to see the sky lounge in SEA my wife thinks it's weird until she actually goes to them ha.

I don't think too many folks use this "perk" since it's lost a lot of its value but Amex Biz Plat WeWork benefit has been extended through Dec 2020.

Thanks for posting. I signed up early last year, but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Maybe this year :)

LOL on the Festivus references. When my kids were young, we sent out a Festivus card of the kids standing in front of a pole to the friends I thought would understand. The other half of the Christmas list got the regular Merry Christmas card :)

Do you have online access to your mortgage information, so that you can see when the payment posts to your mortgage? Or at least a phone number to call to find out balances, last payment, info like that? I've made a test payment of $100 to my mortgage company in the past with Serve, and it ended up being applied toward principal. I was fine with that since I was just testing their system to make sure they received payment, so I didn't have any issues. But you should check with your mortgage company and when they receive the funds, make sure that they are applying the funds toward your mortgage payment and not just your principal. I've been using Plastiq for mortgage recently, but even with sending mortgage payments through Plastiq, I've sometimes seen it applied toward principal only and I've had to call to have it reversed and reapplied toward the mortgage payment. I use Serve and Bluebird all the time to pay cc bills.

I have a Bluebird, and manage DH's Serve account, and since I only use WM anyway the two services are the same as far as I'm concerned.

@AmyAnne ETA: Except for the fee!! I make sure to drain the green Serve account down to zero before the fee hits. Bluebird doesn’t have a fee.

Thanks for the info about your payment being applied to principal only. I have an online account and can see when payments post (I can even send payments for a fee) so I'll be keeping an eye on it. The payment is technically due Jan. 1 but we don't get changed a late fee until Jan. 15.

Also, it's odd that the money was applied to the principal rather than to your payment. I had the opposite problem when I was trying to pay off student loans early--the company kept wanting to extend my payment but not apply the extra to the principal.

I currently have two green Serve cards (one I'm using and one I activated but am not using). I've read that some people apply for the max (I think it's 5) and keep some unactivated in case of a shutdown. I'll be applying for a Bluebird today. If the mortgage payment works, that would definitely be a true benefit to the Serve card for me.

1. I've done both, mortgage went through without any problems. I paid it a few weeks early just to make sure it got there in time, but I think it actually took about a week. I actually use the bill pay feature all the time, just pay the credit card from the Serve account. Again, I give myself plenty of time, but that is much quicker. Payment usually posts within 3-4 days.

2. I got Bluebird accounts last month when I ramped up my MS to get the Hilton free weekend nights. You are correct, it's exactly like Serve except you can only load at Walmart. I got five cards over the course of a few weeks for DH and myself, and have activated two for myself just like Serve. So I have 2 Serve and 2 Bluebird activated and using at the same time.

Thanks for the info. So far (assuming the mortgage payment works), the whole Serve experience has been really much easier than I thought it would be. Are you keeping the other 3 cards unactivated? I have read on flyer talk that some people think that even after a shutdown, unactivated cards might not be affected.

I received an email from Qantas about our flight changing. Instead of getting in at 6:30 am, we now arrive at 6:35 am... Much better than our return flight on United that cancelled our flight to IAH and we are now cutting it close in LAX. I’m going to call about that after we get home from vacation.
