I booked 4 nights at Disneyland first week of May. Tonight I just booked five nights at the Dolphin over Memorial day weekend. I got a really good AAA rate of 210.00 a night. I don't know if WDW and memorial day is a good idea, but I'm not going to lie I'd really like to see Daughtry and WDW just feels more like a vacation. I can't do both and I need to request the time off, but I got at least a couple of weeks to think about it. Cost-wise WDW will be 650 dollars more, but three days longer since I'm adding a couple of nights at the Hyatt on points.

Who knows. I mean, no one else has a problem giving me credit! 830 credit score, REALLY good income...I keep thousands with Chase and use them for real banking. That said, I am a debt deadbeat. I have no debt save the mortgage. I think Chase hates that. Maybe they just hate me. I've decided to take it personally, ha.
Maybe you need a zero-interest card to float some debt for a year. My retired mom had zero debt and a couple million in the bank and got denied cards. Banks are weird.

So guys... I joined the Amex Personal Plat club!! And as a solo player I used a DISchurner’s link (already messaged user but as a mod I gotta get a DISchurners plug in now and again :D ).

It took some doing but I managed to pull an elevated offer going through LTE on my iPhone incognito safari. It just would not show on my desktop (which killed me because I was pulling elevates linksleft & right a few weeks ago!) but it’s the holiday season and I’m in a fighting mood so I kept at it! I’m not punching anyone out lol but you know what I mean.... That’s my sweater! My parking spot! MY FREAKING SEES CANDY!!... yeah. Christmas is going well guys :D

Top life tip: do not get between a Californian and their See’s Candies. Might as well step between them and their In N Out. You won’t be long for this world 🤣
Congratulations on approval and welcome! What will you do with your useless wooden block?! 🤣

Off topic (not credit card and not even Disney 😳). We're headed to Orlando after New Years for 4 nights to meet up with SIL and her family and friends of ours. We're staying at Hyatt Grand Cypress (on points so maybe that keeps it on topic a bit more) and doing one night at Universal Portofino to take advantage of express pass for our 2 park days.

We'll be in the parks Jan 3 and 4 and they are going to be nuts. Any tips or advice on how to manage the crowds and navigate and make best use of express pass? I've only done Universal twice and this is our first time with express pass. I love that I don't have to pre book things but I also feel like I'm going in blind.

We'll be with kids ranging from 8-14. They like thrill rides. We'll try to get to park pre opening on the 4th to get in line for Hagrid's Motorbike (since we can walk over from hotel that day). Any other ride tips or must do items?

For food, there will be 12 of us, any tips for eating dinner together?
I have only been to Universal once and it was years ago, but Rip Ride Rockit and the Hulk are my votes for thrill rides!

I also much prefer TS over QS and I really enjoyed Cowfish! Delicious burger!!

Phew, just got caught up. Hadn't been on since Thursday since I've been super busy with both work and trying to get Christmas stuff together. Stopped by WM yesterday to load Serve and realized it wasn't working, so that's a bummer. Not even going to try to set foot in a WM this weekend :scared: I have been picking up VGCs at OM all week and will be able to hit two stores and Staples today. I picked up enough Shopkicks to redeem for a $50 Disney GC too, which is a super nice bonus!

All my JB miles from my JB Biz posted yesterday too, so I'm booking our flights to Orlando today! Of course, the flights were 6300 miles each the other day and now they're 6700, but whatever. I could get it cheaper on URs with a CSR, but what's the point of picking up the JB miles if I'm not going to use them.

We have made some changes to our Orlando trip for February. Originally we were going to go down either Monday or mid day Tuesday and spend the night in Clearwater before going to BG. Since I now have my new boss and am taking on some new tasks at work, I didn't feel like it was appropriate for me to take the whole week off. So now we're going to cancel our night in Clearwater and take a 7:30 pm flight to Orlando on Tuesday night. We'll be staying in the Hyatt in the airport for the first time! Then we'll just get up early the next morning and rent our car and drive over to BG for the day. We'll drive back to Orlando that night and check into our stay at the Sheraton Vistana Villages for four nights. I'm really looking forward to our trip now!
100% understand about the URs/TrueBlue points after getting the JB biz card! It pains me, but I have to remind myself how versatile the URs are for United and even cash if I need it. I made everyone in my family get the JetBlue biz card because it is so helpful with Orlando. I am not looking forward to cancelling all these Bar Cray Cray cards down the line 🤣

@kidsfirsttrip The MCO Hyatt may also be an interesting choice for a JB vacation package for 1 night!

Got instant approval for DH for Gold card! Woohoo! I've been debating back and forth on AMEX cards but decided to still go for a Gold even with the increased MR card, as I can see it being a more long term earner and between the annoying dining credit and airline fee credit I will be more willing to keep it a second year perhaps to help keep amex happy.

But shoot as I type this I realized I need to use my dining credit for Dec!!!! Basically all that works for us is Grubhub because we either don't have the other options or they are not convenient. This plays a lot into why I've been into Cheesecake Factory maybe twice in my life - they've never been convenient! Also... much as I love desserts... not a cheesecake fan :duck:
Congratulations on the approval!
Oh, I don’t like cheesecake either but there are plenty of non-CC options. Congrats!
I love Cheesecake Factory and both the cheesecake and non-cheesecake options 🤣 Linda's Fudge Cake is so good! You can also use the slices of joy on non-cheesecake desserts! Such a wonderful place 🤣

Look at me...actually spending some money...

I bought tickets to Frozen 2 and Star Wars for 12/23 and 12/26 next week. I typically only see about 2 movies a year so 2 movies in a 4 day span will he a RARE treat for our family. The first one is with my whole family and the second one is with a large portion of my wife’s family. So that’s fun too!!
Are you feeling ok, or did your family skip all movies in 2019 to see these the last week of the year :rotfl:

I enjoyed both of these coasters BUT I think they are getting rougher with age. They aren’t as smooth as I remembered them being 5 years ago or so.

I went March 2017. Maybe I rode them while they were still in their prime? The video on Rip Ride Rockit cracked me up, I looked ridiculous! 🤣

I have been perpetually behind here for the past 3-4 weeks. Trying to catch up.. .

New job has been great. Holiday stuff pretty much in hand. But my Grandma, who I have always been particularly close, passed last weekend. I am glad I visited 2 weeks ago and spent time with her while she was still lucid. Her funeral was yesterday and we are spending a week in my hometown for Christmas. It's been heartwrenching to say goodbye to the family traditions as we know them. She really was the glue... This time with my family has been very special though. Watched the Bills game together today. It's been decades since we we've all been together for a game (like we were every game as kids). Going skiing with all brother/cousins and our kids tomorrow. Made dozens of cookies today and trying to keep Grandma's traditions alive for one last holiday together in her home.

I definitely want to look at my upcoming SW flights, thanks for that update @SouthFayetteFan

Tough to pick a reaction to this post. Sorry for your loss!

You do know that the SW change option will close tonight, right? (I think).
