If we're doing Thanksgiving menus, here's mine:
Devilled eggs, Turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce (homemade), roasted Brussels sprouts, sauteed string beans with garlic, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted butternut squash, purple sweet potato "fries" with old bay, cole slaw, beet salad, Nantucket cranberry pie, apple and sour cherry crumble.

Had to google the Nantucket Cranberry pie and I'm adding it to my list of things to make!

Well this seems ridiculous:

I wonder how long this will last. We specifically were visiting DHS on a Sunday with EMH to ride this first... That's not until end of January so hopefully they get their act together by then. I assume it relates to getting it up and operational each morning...

A delayed opening is just about the worst thing that can absolutely wreck my entire touring plan for that day, including all the FPs I locked in and everything else... The early arrival is the only way to absolutely control your wait time, and this throws that out the window. Basically, you know everybody will just go stand by the entrance anyways so you have to pick between "wait around for a shorter wait & give up touring advantage everywhere else" OR "go elsewhere and come back and wait a long time". Oh well, I guess we'll adapt, this will no doubt result in hours of strategizing in my brain though - cuz that's just how I roll! This sounds like another "Hagrid's" situation all over again (in terms of unreliable ride systems)...

If true, yes it’s ridiculous. But I’m getting the feeling they’re very concerned about the reliability of this attraction and may need the extra time to ensure it’s running every day.

That is very interesting, and I doubt it is going to sit well with anyone. Rather concerning.

USO's experiment at IOA with delaying the opening of Hagrid's each morning was a spectacular fail. They abandoned that quickly and went to the early close model. I feel like the early close makes a lot more sense, people are going to show up at 7am no matter when your park and ride open and they are going to stand at the entrance until you open the ride. It's much easier to close it in the evening and say it's at capacity. People can at least plan around that! Of course, this "delay" is only with regards to EMHs at DHS. That's also really strange to me...if it takes awhile to get the ride operational, then on EMH days can't that staff just come in 1 hour earlier? And if they are that concerned about getting it running by 8am...then what's to suggest they'll get it running by 9am?

There's been constant rumors of operational issues around this ride and this certainly is concerning on many levels. I really hope it's much ado about nothing but it feels like more than that currently...

We will have
Turkey breast (honey baked ham)
Sweet potato casserole
Potatos au gratin
Green bean casserole bites
Mac n cheese
Bread
Carrots
Texas sheet cookies
Caramel apple snickerdoodle bites

My husbands cousin is a traveling dancer and will be our way so she is coming over. Since we will wait on her to eat we are doing a big breakfast and veggie and meat tray for lunch.

Here’s what we’re having for thanksgiving:
6 lb turkey breast (from target)
Mashed potatoes with gravy
Hawaiian rolls
Deviled eggs
Corn
Veggie platter
Cranberry sherbert (my grandma’s recipe)
Pumpkin bites
Small pecan pie
Chips with French onion dip
Caesar salad

I know I’m probably forgetting something. It’s a lot of food for 2 people so I’m sure we’ll have leftovers and I’m not complaining about that lol.

It may be a lot of food for 2 but it's the perfect amount for 3 :)

According to my book that’s the wrong attitude to have lol. I’m not supposed to tell myself I’m eating for 2 apparently. So far I’m doing pretty well though. I’m 19 weeks and have only gained 5 pounds or so. I go to the gym almost every day and Dh and I walk every night.

We are going out for dinner tomorrow. After making Thanksgiving dinner 4 years in a row without DD home I just don't want to muscle through it for a 5th year. Added to that, my DM, who singlehandedly used to make a traditional dinner for at least 20 people (extended family mostly) every year of my childhood repeatedly has asked that we try going out. I finally agreed. I hope it still feels like Thanksgiving.

Don't worry, once you get to around 30 or so weeks you won't have much room to eat anything other than small meals.

Seriously though, sounds like you're doing everything right. Keeping active and eating reasonably should keep you feeling well throughout your pregnancy. Just remember women have been doing this since the beginning, your body and brain know what to do so make sure to always trust your gut, even if it's not in a book.

Is there a way to buy universal gift cards off their website? Finally got the Amex offer for universal studios
If there’s a way to do it, I have t found it. Also have that offer but no way to use it.
I've had it and like it, but the kids are frying the turkey again this year.
I prefer my herb roasted turkey over fried or smoked. BIL hates turkey and won’t eat it, but has insisted on frying or smoking a turkey in the past. (He has a smoker so loves to smoke anything he can)
Today is prep day.
Thawing 21 lb turkey. DH, DS and DD love leftovers. Once I get done with lunch tomorrow, I love not cooking for the next 4 days!
Apple pie is cooling. Stuffing is mixed up and ready to stuff tomorrow am. Green bean casseroles are done, will just reheat in slow cooker tomorrow. The other items will be cooked tomorrow (mashed potatoes, gravy, beets).

I still have Christmas goodies to finish. All the almond thumbprints are done, cake ball truffles are 1/2 done. Still need to make buckeyes, peanut brittle and caramels. All will be finished by next weekend as I need to give out as gifts at work.

Unless Lowes has the BF deal on poinsettias, I will not be going out on Friday but will spend the day decorating for Christmas.
Baking lots today but only for Thanksgiving. Envious that you are ready for Christmas too. I won’t get to it this weekend either as my niece and nephew’s birthday is Sunday and I’m helping niece make a mirror glaze cake for their party Sunday
I need to go grab a pie or something at publix. I kind of forgot about dessert. The pies at costco were waaayyy too big.
One of my single coworkers bought a pumpkin one for herself. I think it took her a week but she ate the whole thing.

Yeah the “rule of thumb” is about a pound a month for the first three months, then a pound a week after that. Comes out to about 30-35 pounds. Recommendations fluctuate over the years but usually right around 30 lbs of gain for normal pre-pregnancy weight.

2 Thanksgiving Suppers for me tomorrow and then 1 on Saturday with the IL's! :)
I work tomorrow, and my usual person that helps prepare the meal and cook the turkey is out this week, so this is what I am making for my officers.
I have
Pioneer Woman's mash potatoes
sweet potato casserole
green bean casserole
mac and cheese
corn
Ham ( I'm scared I'll under cook a turkey, so if they wanted food at work they get ham)
cranberry sauce
stuffing (the easy stove top stuff)
rolls
pies

Then after work I go to my mom's and she'll have a whole spread there. Woohoo I love Thanksgiving food!

I'm at 33 weeks and 10 lbs below pre pregnancy weight. Gestational Diabetes is seriously the worst thing ever. I can't eat anything right now. ☹️

We have 9 for Thanksgiving (which is funny because it's just us and my mom and fil 😂) We are having cheeseball and veggies for appetizers, DH is smoking a turkey for the first time, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, green bean casserole, rolls, and stuffing. My mom is making pudding dessert, I'm baking DH some pumpkin pie and my oldest two are attempting a Key Lime pie.
