I checked for our flights for tomorrow morning. Despite the fact that I have a KTN and it is saved on my Southwest account, my boarding pass doesn’t show that I have TSA pre check. Anyone know what I might have done wrong?

oh my goodness, thank you for this! I have been staring at the computer screen for days trying to figure out what to do for Hawaii flights. It is so confusing I want to just not go. Then I read this and found these same flights. We have the MRs to cover them. I could use SW or x to position myself to LA. I actually feel like I have made some progress finally!!!

Is the KTN shown on the tickets? If not then you can try to redo, when viewing the reservation details there's a link for "Secure Traveler information" where you can add your KTN to a ticket after you buy it. @afan just did this and seems successful

If it is shown, then sometimes you just don't get selected. I think people have called SW to see if there was a mismatch that could be corrected to try again.

Thanks. I think I can see the problem. I called them a couple months ago to add my middle name to my SW account since that is how my GE is set up. But looking through my account, my KTN is there but my middle name is not. I’ll just talk to an agent at the airport tomorrow about changing it for future. My kids don’t have GE yet, so not such a big deal for this flight for me to go through security with them.

It's a percentage of the value of the car. It's reduced by 60% if your car is worth less than $20k. A $20,000 vehicle is assessed at $8,000 and $25,000 car would be assessed at $13,000. So the tax for a car worth $25,000 would be about $500/year.

Thanks for the breakdown. That’s not that bad but considering that I pay $1200 for my car lease every year that’s kinda crazy. lol

Is this your first time? Is your middle name attached to KTN but not your reservation?

I have an Ultimate Rewards question... if you book a hotel room through the portal, do you still earn hotel loyalty points? We stayed at a Fairfield Inn and was told I couldn't use my Marriott gold status to get an upgrade because it wasn't booked directly. I also don't see the stay reflected on my account.

No, you don't earn points or get night credits.

My middle name is attached to my KTN but it’s not listed on my SW account. I’m pretty sure I called this spring to have them add it to my account but it’s possible I’m thinking of Delta. Maybe I didn’t call. We flew Delta in March/April and I did get pre check then.

I don't know if it can be added, I guess stop by the check-in desk.

I saw a Tweet recently setting out how one of the miles bloggers went through 1 million miles in a year, and I thought I'd update my spreadsheet and see how many I've gone through so far this year ... wow! So far for travel that took place in 2019 (not when booked) I've used 1,439,388 miles. For travel in the first half of 2020 that I have planned ... another 770,000. I didn't break down by type, but most of them are URs & MRs (transferred to BA or VS) and Southwest RRs with few United miles.

Wow that’s amazing...I haven’t even earned 1 million points yet

Direct Message TSA on Twitter and they can look into it for you. I say Twitter because it's easy. The handle is @tsa . If you don't have a Twitter make one with your favorite fake name. You put all real info in the DM.

So I'm new to the Ebates game, but I see that is a way to earn extra MRs. I've already signed up and made my first purchase through Saks, so hopefully I'll get the 1500 MR bonus through Rakuten, and then also the Saks credit on my Plat, will be interesting to see if that works.

Question: I travel a lot for work, and stay at Marriotts. I see that Marriott is an option on Rakuten to click through and get 1%, not great but better than nothing. My question is, does that stack with the points I'd already earn through Marriott? I'm Titanium, and wouldn't want to lose the bonus multiplier by choosing Rakuten instead, but if I get the MRs AND the Marriott points, and then get points through whatever card I use to maximize the spend, that would be amazing. Is that how it would work?

1) BTDT twice
2) hated every single second of my time there twice :sad1:
To answer your question, yes and no. Yes, you can use the RTW and not stay in Asia. But no, you still have to go through asia. East to West or West to East ending in origination country. Only 3 stops in Europe also, so consider that if that's the focus.

You could fly into a great airport like Singapore from Europe and sleep on the plane, grab a massage and meal in lounge, then head back to the states.
Or maybe do a couple days in Singapore at a nice hotel just to hang. Or bounce to Phucket for a couple days on the beach. Just some options if you want to actually do a RTW. Because Europe-->USA going east would be brutal without a couple days somewhere to shake off the jet lag.
