I don’t have an exact time frame because I sent it to my dads house in NY so I didn’t have to worry about zeroing out the account for no fees. NY is one of the states with no Serve fees lol but I think it was at least a week.



They should be MetaBank VGCs at staples so it’s the last four digits on the card.

I live in NY so that is good for me.

No but it’s a great card because:
1) 2x MRs on everything up to $50k
2) it’s a biz so doesn’t take up a -/24 spot
3) AF is $0

So it’s helpful if you have non cat spend (I pay the yard guys and pool guys with it) and it’s a no AF card where you could park MRs if you ever got into them.

Oh and of course then more Amex offers

you could buy the gift card and then load it to serve whenever you get the card. Takes probably about a week. Make sure you register for the Green version. Thats the one that has free reloads and no monthly fee if your balance is $0 when your statement closes.

Me with OT stuff again lol...sorry y'all...Can I ask some really noob questions about the Landry's card? I signed up online last week and received the hard copy in the mail. There is a sticker on the card to register it but I've already signed up online and paid the $25. Is there anything else I need to do or is it ready to use?

So, what does this look like? We cannot get a TRex reservation at any kind of decent time or a Yak & Yeti dinner at all. Everything is booked up there on our AK day. Can I just show the card and get seated or do we still need an ADR?

Also, because my bday just passed, I also have the bday reward. Can we use the $25 welcome reward at one dinner and the bday $25 at the other?

No ADR needed (for parties of 6 and under, I guess, but we were never turned away for a dozen people). That's the beauty of it. One less thing to schedule rigidly. Just stop in when folks are hungry, when you're nearby, when you have a break or need a break, and/or to dodge a thunderstorm!

Uhh in NYC? Are there Walmart’s and DG/FD near you? When I was in queens nothing like that was around but lots of no name bodegas to get money orders from, if they took debit. LI has a lot of options though.

Chase won’t even see the Amex Biz card. If you could hit the spend I’d get 2 every 90 days until you are maxed out at 5 credit cards lol plus charge cards don’t count.

I think that’s another prepaid card. Idk how that one works. I dont have it but it maybe possible to load with GCs I was talking about the Serve Green card.

Well it appears the hockey schedule now has something for fall break weekend. That is our beach week every year. So now we literally have hockey every single 3 day weekend or other school break from August until mid March. So annoying.
I suppose the good news is that is 280k HH back in the account. We now officially have enough points to book 2 rooms at grand Wailea.

Oh boy I remember those days....couldn’t plan anything on the weekends from August to March....I do miss watching them play...but not all the traveling...

Hi everyone! Been trying to keep up with the fast & furious pace here, so I apologize in advance for just jumping in after being gone for a while.
Quick update, met MSRs on P1 & P2 CIP#1 over the last couple of weeks, and now trying to decide where I want to turn next for our upcoming big spends (tuition!)
Considering CIP#2 for P1, but we're only just over 60 days from initial application. Keep waffling over jumping on the grAAvy train since our upcoming flights will be AA/BA, but our tix are already purchased, so I'm not sure if we'll see any significant benefits (seat upgrades?)

On a related note, I know this is a well-traveled group, and I'm wondering if any of you have experience with CLT airport. I've tried to research minimum connection times, and I'm beginning to get concerned. Do any of you think 55min is adequate for a connection to an international flight? I know CLT is not that big, but we saw some significant crowding due to construction last time we were in the airport, and that was only a domestic connection. This one will be regional jet/domestic to international. Should I start making plans to switch to an earlier flight now?

My Discover is my oldest card on my CR, dating back to.... 1990. I am terrified to apply for a second card for fear something would happen to the original.

This is my second oldest card. My first was from a financial institution that I worked for that went out of business due to the Savings & Loan scandal in the 80's. (Boy, am I dating myself here!)

I'm right there with y'all. My Discover dates back to 1988 (and Sears was older than that)

I’m loving all these people that have gotten a Serve card! Just remember you can and will be shut down it’s just a matter of when. they just shut people down in May and before that it was 2 years ago, so I’m hoping I have time. (I think @calypso726 got shut down awhile ago?) Order extra cards now and don’t activate them. Only use them if your other one gets shutdown. If you are doing Serve at Walmart you can also sign up for BlueBird. Also, don’t float too much. Be prepared for the worse possible scenario if this ends or if there is fraud am I going to be ok without these funds for a little while. In my case I would just stop signing up for new cards to spend down the giftcards but just be careful.

You don't have any Amex/MR earning cards? If that is the case, you might consider waiting for the 100,000 MR offer on Amex plat. Yes, this will take a 5/24 slot but that many points is worth it. People use MRs for transferring to airlines mostly. I'd argue if you don't have a need for these points, especially SkyTeam partners, you might be better offer just staying in the Chase universe.

I cashed them out. I have gotten $15,000 worth in cash to help pay for my Disney wedding. But they can be used to go back to Japan lol next year I’ll be earning them to try and fly first class to japan lol

I'm super behind today and want to post stuff, but I'm about 10 pages behind so for now I'll just post what I can...

I normally just load the cards. If I am buying something I have them ring it up separately. There are two grocery stores across the street from my Walmart which makes it super easy to just stop in.

OK, I have major FOMO right now. I never heard of Serve until it was discussed on this thread, and I don't really understand what it is or where I would apply for one. I know I want the Green one (or do I want 2?) but can you please let me know where to get it?

And we are done with Grubhub - too many missing items.

Both Uber Eats and Grubhub are not reliable. We have started using Grubhub with the pick-up option and that's worked really well so far.
