On an exciting and positive note we are having a second child to go along with our now almost 3 year old. Since I don't plan on traveling much until that second child is at least a bit older I plan on having points galore by the time that we need them :) . Might be on to CIP 9 and 10 by that time.

Mini freak out
I booked CBR with AA points last night
Called Disney wholesale who could only see a shadow reservation through a broker
Called AA who informed me they don’t release the info to Disney until a few Days before check in so I can’t prebook fastpasses or anything
What?! Did I get bad info somewhere or what?

I haven’t had any issues linking the reservations by calling the regular Disney number and saying I booked through a third party can you search for my reservation and link it to MDE for me. I was told it takes 24 hours for them to see third party reservations. My block room rate booking person for my wedding was even able to look up my AA reservation. Idk why so many agents have issues with this.

A couple of bank bonus DPs:

1) TD Bank- did this one for myself last year and it worked fine. Was going to use them for DH's business bank account, so set up a personal account for him. Found out that TD Bank won't link to YNAB - :confused3 so that plan is off. Instead of changing a direct deposit, I just funded it with a couple of pushes from Discover. DPs on Doc look like that should work, if not, I'm only out the interest for the 90 days this has to be open. Also, they charge to transfer out of their bank (which I had forgotten) but the account comes with free checks. The check company put my order through 2x, then charged me for the second order. I chatted with them and they reversed the charge, but it seemed kinda scammy to me. Glad we aren't actually going to keep this account.

2) Santander - this has been DH's local bank for a while (got a mailer with a decent bonus - $300ish? a few months ago). Bonus worked fine. After I realized that TD wouldn't work, we decided to open his business bank account here, too, for a $350 bonus. Had to do it in person in the branch, and it took a good hour. Needed his LLC paperwork from the Secretary of State, but it was fine that he didn't have an EIN. The bank guy pointed out that we could keep the account fee free by using the debit card to buy 3 packs of gum a month (3 debit transactions), if we don't want to keep the minimum of $5k in the account. Hopefully this bonus will post as easily as the personal one did.
Thank you for mentioning Santander! I have a few by me and it fell off my radar. I will file that away for future bonuses.

See @amalone1013 but we did the 5 day 3 park tix using our CSR with URs. Upgrade for $30 each and charge the upgrade to our room and used arrival plus points to wipe out. We also did this in February and they extended the AP for 15 months so it was quite a deal.
So you were able to use the pay 2 days, get 5 days from the promo and get the 5 day price for an AP upgrade through the UR portal?!

I understand the mini freak out. I kind of feel this way every time I book through a 3rd party. I always have to jump through hoops to get the MDE number. First, I'd give the reservation 24-48 hours to get fully into Disney's system. Even when you book through the 'agency that cannot be named', it can take a day or so for them to send the actual Disney conf because even though you book through an outside agency, Disney still has to process all the reservations.

Once you have let a bit of time pass, I would call Disney wholesale back and explain that you booked through a 3rd party but you were not given a MDE number and they said you cannot get it until a couple days before check in. Disney CM's will understand this isn't acceptable. See if you can get some help again that way. They should be able to look your reservation up based on last name and arrival date. I think @speedyfishy has even had success getting the regular Disney reservation line to look up her AA bookings by name and date but I tried this method twice and didn't get any help.

Sorry you are having trouble. I know this frustration well.

Question for ones who have been to or live in Boston. Looking to go for a quick weekend. Wanting to go to the Aquarium and of course Faneuill Hall. I believe they are somewhat near each other. Hoping to use my IHG points so looking for a Crowne Plaza or even a Holiday Inn Express that would be closest to these places.

When we were there for our layover I only remember seeing a Marriott nearby.
Look into Hotel Indigo near the Garden. Not too far to walk to Faneuil Hall. And yes the Aquarium is close to Faneuil Hall as well. That whole area is super walkable or a quick Uber ride

If you want a little more upscale, you could do the Intercontinental which is a little further down, across the channel from the Seaport District. Maybe a 10-15 minute walk to the Aquarium. It has cool city views and views out to the Harbor.

Just now seeing your response! I'm still amazed you are able to get your number from the reservation line. The last CM I spoke to before I got my numbers from wholesale was downright rude about it all >:(

CONGRATS!!! No better news than news of a baby on the way :lovestruc

I think the 2nd driver became an issue after UR changed the contract to Expedia from Connexions.
I just clarified with Enterprise via Facebook Chat, basically, booking manner doesn't matter, spouse is automatically an authorized driver. We will be fine either way (copying the message from them just in case)

Friendly reminder that Southwest Airlines next schedule release is expected to occur on Thursday August 15th.
  • This schedule release was pushed back twice in early July (it was originally supposed to occur on July 10th). Currently SW is offering flights through 1/5/20 and this release (when it finally occurs) will take their schedule out to 3/6/20.
  • I would stay posted on this however, as it could change at any time. They have been known to move this date up with very little notice.
More Hawaii flights should be announced in August. This should include Sacramento & San Diego and service to Lihue and Hilo.

Just a shout-out to you and some others here over time who've mentioned Tickets at Work. I was able to get my company set up with them despite us being a small business with only a few employees. No idea if we'll find any deals for our travels but it's always nice to have another avenue of discounts.

Idk if anyone is in the same boat with a small business with only a few employees but we just assumed this sort of thing was for large corporations only but it's not- and it's free. (They make their money off the commissions of what they sell.) I sent an email inquiry through their website and they called the next day.
Booo. I used to have an account here through my work, originally it was Corporate Perks then went to Tickets at Work. I can't get logged in now. It says it doesn't recognize any of my personal or work emails and if I try to sign up it tells me my work email isn't valid :badpc:

ETA: Good grief, they changed the program AGAIN. It is now perks at work.

You’re at work today? Gold star. I’m home..lol

Haha even my boss asked why I didn't take off today. I was off last Friday though, and I have to be off Thursday and Friday this week for a conference.

Yeah I don’t get it they all seem to have no problem doing it for me. They just need check in date and my last name.

So you are thinking that gift cards will count for the shopping portal bonus? (IIRC last time you were correct about them counting.)

Yeah last time it worked.
