Has anyone used their SW Priority $75 credit then cancelled their ticket? Does it just go back to your account I am guessing? Have not spent any of our credit yet. Thinking I just need to speculatively book all our tickets and will probably end up cancelling some or all of them. May I say again how jealous I am of all those that can make plans years in advance and I am having problems doing it just one month in advance.

If you cancel the ticket...the full ticket price is a SW credit..if you purchased a non refundable ticket....you keep the $75 credit...they don’t take it back

Opinions please . . . I want another CIP. Before today, I had 5 Chase business cards. One was a duplicate, so I closed it yesterday. Stats (Chase bolded):

Currently 4/24
Planning to apply for CitiBiz #2 at end of this month
Citi personal 4/23
Aviator personal 4/21
Ink Cash 4/5
Barclays Aviator Biz 2/25
Citi Biz 2/20
CIU 2/1
CIP 11/1
Hyatt 8/11

Thoughts on timing? When I applied for the Ink Cash, I WAS NOT auto approved. I've proactively lowered CL's for Chase cards, but I have not done that for others. Wondering if I should?

Picking DD up from college today. I should be doing other things right now, but alas, here I am . . . :)

I would wait until July the full 3 months before applying for the CIP

Maryland to Texas with one in a Uhaul, and a dog as well. We did not crate him, he mostly rode on the dashboard. He did not eat/drink/litterbox the entire drive. He only really cried when we stopped, but he settled once we got going again. We mostly drove straight through, stopping at a truck stop for a few hours to sleep in the truck. He was still fairly young though which may have made a difference in how he handled it.
How long of a drive was that? We won’t be able to do it in one drive I don’t think. It’s close to 20 hours. Dh did suggest doing it though just to not stay in a hotel

It was a good 22ish hrs to my parents where we stopped for the night before the final 3 or so hours to our new place. We often drive through the night though, we had done a few Atlanta to Maine over the years. Just prepare to catch up on sleep at your destination. Make stops as needed.

Jumping in with Plastiq for MSR for the new CIP. Questions: Does the plastiq acct have to be in the same name as the CIP cardholder? If I link the CIP, does the Plastiq acct have to be a business acct? Also, if I pay my DD's tuition, the plastiq acct and CC doesn't have to match either, correct? Thank you!

You don’t have to convince me lol. It’s dh that needs convincing.

The part that’s getting to him is that, yes it’s being paid for, but he has a capped limit so he wants to spend as little as possible to get more things to fit under that cap. So like this trip we just took down, I highly doubt they’ll pay for it because I think we’re already gonna meet that capped limit and then we have to pay for it. I just don’t think he realizes the stress that’s gonna come with moving ourselves. Hopefully he’ll come around.

Those are thr arguments to use on him not you. Also if you don't use the movers you have to pay. What is the cap for moving expenses? Would he rather pay the 1k or so from this past trip or pay a few grand moving yourself? Moving isn't cheap but you've got help. He could have gotten a job that offered no assistance.

I remember you also said you have lots of frozen meat so you'd better get to eating :drinking1or drive with the cooler.

Another way to look at it, no more flights to wdw and you'll be closer and can use your points to stay offsite so you don't have to pay resort parking and your ap gets free parking at the parks. Take the moving budget out of the vacation fund, the trip was a bit of a vacation anyway. You'll want a choice hotel or motel 6 that allows cats on the trip down and it's not going to be that much.

You guys will also be super jet legged from the huge time diff, you don't need to be loading a truck. You've gotten a ton of good to awesome reasons as to why you don't want to do it yourselves. So unless he can guarantee everything is packed before you go to japan I'd put my foot down and say no. Or however you want tk do it.

I'm not trying to be mean or harsh just honest and realistic but I also understand my way doesn't work for everyone. And to go against the philosphy of the budget board sometimes being practacle means spending the money not saving it. I'm all about less stress and I'll pay for that.

Ask your husband about this one. It may be more important to him than you think.

Nope, my head, my hair. I've have to live with it and I've had enough bad haircuts because they don't do what I aak for or even better can't cut it straight and/or even. Maybe if I actually get a say in facial hair.

I see a few DPs on getting the CIP expedited through SM. Does anyone think I could SM to expedite an employee card on a CIU? Looking at helping solve my lack of MSR. Still working on DH's CIU MSR. Thinking of taking an employee card on my trip but would need before next Saturday. I guess it can't hurt to try.

Has anyone taken the train from ewr into nyc. Still trying to figure out my Thanksgiving trip. Amtrak’s prices shot up overnight.

I thought about it but didn’t only because it drops you at Penn Station. If you’re staying somewhere really close to there I think it’s fine, but otherwise you’d still need to take an Uber or subway with your luggage to wherever you’re staying.

Does anyone have a referral code I can use for Plastiq? I'll check Dischurners.

Yes, there are support links over there. ;)

Some of us have increased offers for Plastiq's FFDs, so you might consider that option as well. The standard offer is 500FFDs for you once you spend $500. The increased offers some people have is 10,000FFDs if you spend $10,000 with a business card (e.g. CIP) but that needs to be done by 5/31/19 so there's not a whole lot of time left for that. When you open an account you have to pick "personal" or "business" or "both" and if you decide to do the increased 10K FFD offer I think "business" would be safer.

The name on the credit card does not need to match the name on the account, nor the account that you are paying.

Good point. Lga seems to make more sense.

No, sorry. Amtrak from Richmond but now I may fly. I know taxi from newark is expensive. Just wondering how taking the train is. Otherwise I’ll fly into lga.

Ubers from EWR and LGA were about the same price for me, by the way. When I flew DCA-LGA, we flew into the marine terminal (I think that’s what it’s called) and there are only like 8 gates there and security takes about 5 minutes to get through. That was 2017 though so not sure if it’s still the same. I think we flew Delta then.
