Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers! We say it all the time but I'm saying it again, this is the BEST group on the DIS! True kindest and love. Thankful I get to hang out with y'all!

@WVMomof3 She is coming up on finals which is why I need her to get past this ASAP! She also gave 2-weeks at her job a week ago after getting a new one that could be beneficial with her major. She's super excited to start her new one but again, need her healthy. As far as if she will ever not have this anymore, it's unlikely. You can get it into remission, which she has been close to, but it comes back out with any simple illness, stressful event, lack of sleep, too much Easter candy, etc. Her immune system just isn't strong enough to keep it away fully.

@Lain She has been doing SO good!! First major flare in about 18mos (last time was at WDW when I had to take her to urgent care). She's had little flares but those are a piece of cake comparatively.

@LuckyMamaInDE and @DrFacilier I'm sorry y'all have to know how awful this is :( Hugs to yours who suffer too!

I must have missed your earlier post about your daughter, but I hope she's feeling better soon. This time of year is just bad for college kids (and especially those with compromised immune systems). :(

Woo-hoo Allegiant released their flights through April this morning. I was all set to tell DH to run to the aiport and buy our tickets for our Arizona trip. Uh, nope....$608 per person round trip. The trip is usually around $250 a person. We're flying December 26-January 2 though. I'm hoping the price drops significantly, but I'm worried with it being holiday travel.

Does anyone know when Southwest opens their next set of dates for flights? I have the HHonors Aspire card that I could use to buy gift certificates; I havne't used my airline travel credit yet. Perhaps I should try for the Southwest cc. I have enough spend to meet MSR immediately. I saw posts about not being able to have 2 Southwest credit cards. Can you still have the bonus for business and personal? Does Southwest allow pooling of points?
Southwest’s schedule is currently open through 11/3/19. On May 29th they will release flights through 1/5/2020.

You can earn a bonus on both a personal AND Business card. The new-ish rule is that you can only earn 1 personal bonus every 24 months (across all 3 personal cards).

Keep in mind that if you earn 110,000 SW points in one calendar year you will receive the Companion Pass for the remainder of that year and ALL of the following year.

For those of you who've been around for awhile, you may remember my dd18 has a chronic illness. She is sick again and it's a bad flare. I've spent the day on the phone with doctors trying to get meds called in and then running around to get meds (spending a small fortune...). Appreciate any prayers or thoughts for us both. She's in pain and I'm worn out.

I hope she's feeling better quickly. It really sucks when the bad days creep up. Thought I reached remission, but made the decision to go back on meds last night.

Thanks everyone for the Dp's. I'm just starting with Serve and yesterday was my first attempt so I guess I'm not off to a good start. The WM I went to is definitely not allowing it. @Natgridenergy, since your neck of the woods is my neck of the woods, I'm hoping for success today at Family Dollar.

How many do you/can you do at once? I have $3200 worth to load.
Hit up the FDs and DGs in West Warwick and Coventry. You can do 2500 per day according to serve. FD policy supposed to only be 500 per day but you can do more if you have a cool cashier.

Is it easy to transfer credit from csp to cfu and by credit I mean balance. I got my refund from wdw yesterday but the offers on my cfu are better than on my csp. I know I could request a check but it'd just be easier to have it moved. Pretty sure I can but want to make sure before I go to Lowes.

Slightly off topic.
I have a ufan master card gift card. I tried to pay towards my RCC balance, but it won't go through. Called the ufan hotline and they say it's b/c the cruise line is trying to run it through as a registered card. Which apparently this card can't be registered. So which MC gift cards can be registered?

Choice Hotels are nicer and a good value if you ever plan to go to Scandinavia. In which case the offer you did would be one you, or anyone else looking to use their points there, is one you'd want to do as much as you can :)

How weird! They're like super nice!

@3 DD love princesses Thanks for the suggestion to shorten the Pop stay and upgrade to the DxDP (under FD'ing promo). I think we are headed in that direction unless something changes with the AA portal.

We have two rooms booked at Pop. I dropped us to the min for FD at Pop (4 nights with 4 day PH'ers). I only put myself and ds8 on that room and dh and other 3 'adults' on the room booked with just a RO promo. That will give us 5 days to use 24 meals and 16 snacks. We really wanted to do more character meals as we usually only do one. Which has been fine but IDK, we all kind of got the bug that it'd be fun to do more. This will let us do 4 TS! My kids don't know yet but they will be very happy. I still need to crunch more numbers but I think this is a pretty inexpensive way to do this. This part of the stay is about $2600. I'll cover it cashing out UR's and then buying discounted GC's as well as selling some AA GC's...oh, @Albort, I'll be checking in with you soon :D

Last 5 nights, I think we are going for the Swan. We are actually super excited! We've wanted to try it for years but Disney has always come through with the deals so there was never much incentive. Not so much this year. I can book both rooms for less than 200k miles. These are upgraded rooms (1 king w/sofa bed, 2 queens, balcony, resort view - will that be a fireworks view??).

Before we book, we are still going to call and see if we can convert our cert (or upgrade it) to a cat 6. If we can, then everything changes cause that would be 7 nights at Swan.

I feel like everything is coming together and I'm pretty excited! Still holding a small bit of hope that AA gets the summer promos added but if not, I feel we have a great plan.

And seriously, we could be at any Disney resort and my kids would be happy. These are kids who've been very spoiled by my current hobby and last hobby of GC churning and they are more used to deluxe than value. Yet, I've asked my dd's over and over about where they want to stay. The answer is always the same, 'we don't care, mom, we just want to go back!' So, I think they will be pleased with this and all the extra dining will be a huge surprise!
Sound like great kids!

I ran into an issue at DG in North Providence after coming from FD in Chepachet - 2 of my cards were frozen by Amex. It was released after a couple calls and a few days later. I won't load anymore than $500 per day, per card. I'm too chicken.

I wish I had it on a cash back card instead of a 1500 MR offer. I am planning to cancel the MR card and don't know what I would do with the stray MRs

Bike accidents are among my greatest nightmares (two of my kids ride and while I know they wear helmets, there's just too much that can go wrong that a helmet can only help so much). Very glad your DH is okay.

Me too. DD rides her bike to work in San Francisco. She has been cut off while in the bike lane by a woman who saw a parking space and veered over (DD hit the back of her car and the woman was blaming her as she lay there bruised up with a damaged front tire and fender!) and had a few other close calls.

@Haley R Welcome to Florida! I love it here!
@wendow I really hope your daughter feels better soon. It’s so awful when our kids are not well and happy.

I (unfortunately) met my AmEx Plat MSR within a couple of weeks last Friday due to unexpected $3500+ car repairs. Ouch and it’s at a third mechanic for the last thing the dealer couldn’t do. My SUB 100k hasn’t posted but I don’t think i need to worry yet.

Last night, used my first benefit of all these cards besides the Chase travel portal and applied the family for Global Entry. Used 2 CSR, 1 AmEx Plat, 2 AmEx Gold AU cards and paid for the little one. That alone will halfway cover the AmEx AF for this first year :thumbsup2

For our trip to Germany, I’m going to have to check 2 bags. I know I get a travel credit with the AmEx and I have to designate an airline. On the way over, That will be AA because they are AA flights and the AmEx travel credit should cover it (about $100), right? For the way back, it’s BA one leg, and BA operated by AA for the overseas portion. Will the AmEx credit apply in that situation and if not any other ideas? I’m hoping not to have to pay but the Barclays free bag is only for domestic itineraries and my 2 Chase travel credits are done for the year.

One more question (and thanks for reading)...I booked my flights through Chase and I have one booking number for all 6 of us in the itinerary. Do I have to pay for luggage for each leg or only for each direction? Not sure if I’m being clear. Do i pay MIA to Charlotte and then pay Charlotte to Germany or just Mia to Germany?

You’re in the clear. Barclays biz cards do not report to personal credit reports. (Make sure you are going for the biz aviator!)

Thank you! I'm relatively new to this game, but suddenly I want al the AA miles I can get!

I have to call AmEx this afternoon to see if I can the Bonvoy approved (I applied with the higher offer last week knowing I'd be declined). Fingers crossed!
