That's not at all cool that they'd do that and good that they're getting called out on it. Surprising to see so many empty since I often see complaints of not getting upgraded with aa status and super long upgrade lists. Most not be a popular route.

OK so took off the last month +
so much happened here. Thanks for the updates on the news feed as it just saved me!

update on my CIP with SSN #2 applied in Feb and met spend before 1st statement. Well was worried I wouldn't get the bonus since it didn't post to the statement. 2nd statement the bonus posted!

Not sure who shared about plastiq MC fee as 1% but thanks. Hoping staples runs the MC no fee again soon. I'm maxed out and can't get more right now but I'd love to try it again. Thankfully staples let me get $3000 in one trip today. Just did 15 transactions. Miss the CIP crediting as 3x with plastiq made it so nice to pay the bills.

March we went to Disney for DD7 bday. Weather was great and parents seemed to enjoy it. Downfall DH really likes the 2 bedroom. not sure if I'll get away with booking studios and resort hopping as much now. Benefit I might be able to buy more points one day!

Last week we flew out to SEA for two days. Our flight was cancelled back in March and had to have SWA rebook us on a different flight. Our layover was in DEN so we got to go to Timberline. Food was great and kids were all about the desserts! DH asked if next time we fly west to do a 3+ hour layover in DEN. Ended up needing to get a hotel for the 3 nights two days before we left. SO glad we have the CSR and I had points so that covered our hotel since I wasn't planning on having to stay in a hotel. Family was sick with the flu and we didn't want to chance catching it.

Spend is almost met on DH's CIU. now to wait till June to apply for a new card

Remind me for a moment...do either of you have a CIP yet? I haven't been following your whole plan closely (all these comments can blend togther sometimes, lol!) BUT you could be missing a big opportunity to earn a ton of URs there (especially with the multiple CIP loophole currently out there). Some of the offers you're looking at sound great but none seem to be as lucrative to me as the CIP could be. Just food for thought :)

No we hadn't started the CIP cards yet. I was going to start at the end of the summer. Should I have P2 do one 1st and then the CSP. I still want to do the IHG, then I can do the CIP and push Citi off for awhile.

Since you have the CSP and can refer your DH...the referral is 15k right now for you and 60k for him...this is the highest I have seen on that card...no idea how long it’s good for....so you may want to apply for the CSP first then the CIP 3 months later
The CIP 80k sign up bonus has been consistent for a while...sorry not familiar with the IHG

Totally off topic...but I had a major fail tonight...

We had to get a portion of our gas line replaced so I had moved our Disney Lego Castle (you know the 4,080 piece one https://shop.lego.com/en-US/product/The-Disney-Castle-71040) off of our basement fireplace to allow access. I go to move it back...and the top starts to topple over...and in trying to catch it I probably only make it worse...BAM, it hits the floor of the laundry room and breaks into 200ish pieces.

What's a dad to do at 1:30am...lookup a PDF of the instructions and get to it. So yes, I just spent the last hour reassembling the castle...AND I SUCCEEDED!!! :) I'm done with legos for like a year now, lol. Crisis averted...and I'm tired, so it's off to bed for me!
We have this one. I'm always worried someone will look at it the wrong way & shatter it. The top part/tallest tower is really weak at the place where it attaches & every time we move it it's a heart-pounding experience :crazy2: We try not to move it too often.

Can someone explain to me how to push money from PayPal to my bank acct if trying to use it for a direct deposit? Do I need a different version of PayPal?i just have the old, original PayPal. I have searched 100 times and see nothing on there about transferring. I also see that I need to add money to my balance but I don’t have a balance and don’t know how to go about getting one?
Add funds to PayPal from bank account & then just withdraw them normally. I'm surprised PayPal ever counts as direct deposit. It's pretty obvious what it is.

Opinions, friends: is it worthwhile to spend $15k on the Hilton Ascend for the free weekend night? I can always use another free night somewhere. Wondering who else does this here as part of a spending strategy.
We did it once (on the Aspire) but I wouldn't have done it if I could have acquired some new card(s) & put the $15K toward MSR. But, all my MSRs were covered, I didn't want a new card at that time because I had recently opened one each with Chase & Amex, we had a few large expenses, and we were planning a stay that I knew would eat up our Hilton stash. We're getting about $600 in value from the certificate, as well as the points. I don't think I would have done it without definite plans for the points/certificate. I would have wanted UR.

That IS the most embarrassing thing.

The reason that I emphasize CIP is because of the whole "multiple CIPs" loophole right now. Nobody knows how long it will last but it is just so lucrative.

Both my wife and my 60k AA Business Aviator bonuses are showing on our statement that closed today. They aren't in our AA account yet but I assume that will be the case in a day or 2. I know this isn't anything "special" but just sharing for those who are looking at the Barclays Business Aviator card.

Here's the timeline for those interested:
  • We both applied and were auto-approved on 3/4/19
  • First statement closed 3/26/19 (we hadn't met the MSR yet)
  • We both met the MSR in early April
  • Second statement closed 4/26/19 and 60k bonus points are showing on both statements
  • The Annual Fee was charged on 3/29/19 so we'll have to pay this on our 2nd statement
  • So the deal is, spend $1,000 & pay a $95 AF, get 60,000 AA miles. (and a biz card so no 5/24 slot)
One funny side note...here's the AF charge on my statement: 03/29/2019 ANNUAL MEMEBERSHIP FEE $95.00

Yep, I'll be paying my memeber fee soon!

This was my first time using Plastiq and I paid a bill that was less than $200. Is there a way to combine these gift cards on Plastiq? Just wondering how to use them to pay a bill more than $200.

Elevated Delta Offers expiring SOON (available via certain support links).
I am not an expert on these offers so if anybody else wants to chime in, please do so. All of the Delta cards have elevated offers available ONLY through support links and then expire on 5/1/19! I'll list each offer below and then list who I found on the AMEX support thread that has links :) I would always advise consulting here before you actually apply in case somebody feels you're making a bad move.

DELTA GOLD PERSONAL: Earn 60,000 bonus miles after you spend $2,000 in your first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase within your first 3 months.
- @SouthFayetteFan, @gottalovepluto, (@wendow also has this offer if you click "view all cards with an offer" and then click "all personal cards")

DELTA GOLD BUSINESS: Earn 70,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 in your first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase within the first 3 months. (plus a 0% APR for 6 months I believe)

EDIT: If anybody else updates their links to the elevated offers, let me know and I can add your name here. A lot of others have Delta links but they aren't for these higher offers.

EDIT2: You might be able to do a support link via spouse or self-support here as well. Please read my next post about a warning on self-support though.

Today, in Creepy Horse Show Hotels:

Not so much creepy this time, just a “huh.” At another Quality Inn for the night and since I just booked the room yesterday, the only thing left for a king room was a king handicapped room, which is fine. Get into the room and notice that it’s bigger and has laminate floors. Nice. Walk into bathroom and see that there’s a shower chair sitting there. Then I look and see that it’s a regular shower, not roll in... So I’m thinking oh well there must be a drain just in the bathroom floor so you can sit in the shower chair here and used the handheld shower. Nope, no handheld shower, just the mounted showerhead. Soooo, not ADA compliant at all? Like how the heck are you supposed to take a shower if you’re in a wheelchair here??

AMEX SELF-SUPPORT LINK WARNING:
I'm bringing this message to the group with information from @Lain - he's away having fun this weekend but the DISchurners mods consulted and we wanted to just put this out there...

@Lain noticed this DP from r/churning claiming that Amex clawed back a “support” bonus from a BGR and signup bonus on a BBP because of "self-support" click https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/bh7apz/data_points_central_thread_week_of_april_25_2019/elua2a4/

We aren't trying to freak anybody out, but this is something to monitor. The DP mentioned that all spend was organic, but it also seems like they hit the MSR very fast because the Signup Bonus posted a week after the referral bonus.

I noted that the AMEX RAT often works in mysterious ways and we often have skepticism towards random comments on r/churning. This may be an anomaly. @Albort also notes that it could be something else that they aren't sharing with us. @Lain is holding off on self-support clicks until we see if any other DPs come in.

IF you are playing in 2 player mode though, the easiest way to avoid this is to do a P1=>P2 or P2=>P1 support click vs a self-click. We should all continue to monitor the situation. Consider yourselves warned (in the least ominous way possible, haha!) :)

Also worth noting - the worst case scenario here is you lose your support points and potentially your sign up points. That's not the end of the world but I know many would be very upset to meet an MSR for nothing. AND if this were more widespread we'd have heard more about it by now.

There's various types of ADA rooms and as long as some are wheelchair accessible I don't think all have to be. I would imagine for someone that can transfer that the room would be ok. They may have laminate floors in all their rooms too like Disney is doing.

Is this because of cards dropping off or because you succeeded in removing AU cards or a combination?

Both, I had my Capitol One Venture drop off that I got in 4/2017 and I got off as an AU from one of my dh's cards that he put me on (before I learned so much from everyone on here). For that, I called the credit card company and they said they would remove me but then someone on here told me I would have to file a complaint with the credit unions, which I did and they took me off completely. Thank you all!!!

They could be slowly transitioning their rooms to laminate, but I know the other rooms we’ve stayed in here are carpet. Wouldn’t you have to actually be able to transfer to a shower chair that’s IN the shower for it to be compliant though? This is literally just a shower chair sitting next to a standard shower. There’s no way to roll in the shower and no way to get your body wet from the shower chair lol.

ETA: I know what you mean about different levels of ADA compliance though. But I just don’t see how a shower chair outside of a shower with no handheld unit is helpful to anyone lol.

Congrats on both fronts!!!

Could the chair be moved into the shower? Otherwise I've no idea. I kind of thought for some rooms they just have the portable shower seats like you'd have at home and then it'd be a similar set up for you to transfer to.

Could be with the rooms too. I know sometimes when we have the dogs with us we get the crappy room that hasn't been redone and it's obvious it doesn't get used often because the bathroom is dusty. Traveling with our dogs doesn't mean we're going to make any more of a mess or should be in a room like that but whatever. We often stay at Choice properties since they are dog friendly and generally allow 2 in the room if small.

Nope! I guess maybe you could put part of it in but not all four legs, so then it seems like it would be unstable?

I put in the complaint that DH put me on as an AU without my permission:laughing:
