are u getting $140 out of $200?
i think its to make sure ur human or something maybe. Id check to see if they are paying people, last ive heard, they were having issues... but that was in Jan-Feb.

Yes. It was my first time selling to them so that might have been the issue.

Well it was only an interview so it’s possible he wouldn’t have even gotten the job. We fly down Saturday to look at houses and I’m really excited about the Melbourne area so I’m not upset.

I highly doubt Disney would pay more than he’s planning to get. He said he’s not that interested in working on animatronics anyway but it still could’ve been cool. The company he accepted a job with works on military planes and he’s excited about that. My brother flies jets in the navy so it also gives them stuff to talk about. He texts my brother more than I do lol

Haley R, I think he made a good choice ;)

Amex Plat personal and business - Dh may or may not be keeping the business card and I'll be keeping the personal card when the AF is due. I will be cancelling my business plat card. We do use the benefits offered by each enough that we might be keeping one of each but both of us don't need to have each. So, they will be re-evaluated in a few months.

This is the only I am trying to figure out if we want to keep long term - our personal Amex Plat. $550 AF is steep! I also have the Gold, which I love for the same reasons you cite (dining credit, 4x on groceries & rest). What benefits to you love on the plat that makes the AF worth it?

I'm not calypso but I love these things (obviously subject to change): 5x MR on flights/flight expenses (taxes, seat upgrades, etc), $200 annual credit with an airline--I've used it to buy gc some years, other years I know I'm flying an airline without status or alliance, I've used it for seat selection/bag fees (Amex allows a change in designated airline every January so my vacation flights are set by then), access to Delta lounges when flying with Delta (a regular member ship costs $495) and access to Centurion lounges in non Delta hubs (recently IAH, in June, PHL).

Additional perks that I don't value highly but others do are the Uber credits and Saks credits (I can use the Saks, but it's not a make/break proposition).

I have DD, DH and DM as AUs (additional fee $175 for 3 AUs) so they can also access Skyclubs and Centurion lounges when we fly. The charge for a skyclub guest is $29 so if my AUs use it or Centurion lounge more than 6 x/year this makes up for the fee. DH has already used it twice, DD once and that's before summer travel and dropping DD off at school, so we'll visit more than 6 times this year.

If I stopped flying as frequently, it wouldn't be a great card, but since I do, it is for now.

I actually have the $550 fee plus the AU fee of $175 coming up and this helped me clarify that the card is still a keeper, so thanks!

Totally off topic here but there is such a wealth of knowledge on this thread and I need some advice. I have been taking A LOT of photos (with my trusty old Canon EOS T2i) at my DD's sporting events (LAX and FH games). There are many, many pictures of the entire team and I would like to put them out somewhere so the girls can see them and download them. Has anyone done anything like this or have any ideas for me? THANKS!

There may be better picture sharing sites but I have used both Shutterfly and Snapfish for these situations and then send out the login and password for the team. That way, each person can pick the pictures they want and sizes and if they want to pick it up locally or have it sent to them. I'm sure others might be able to add to this.

This is assuming they are in a digital format. You could upload the pictures to Google Photos or if you have Amazon prime they have an Amazon photos. You can then create and album of the photos and then share it.

You can use facebook for it. I've saved pics off there before. I think you can share albums on shutterfly, pretty sure that was the one I did. Imugr would probably work too but I don't know if there's a way to share with some people and not everyone. I always upload mine as hidden when I need to post something on the boards since the first time I did it publicly and got a couple of rude comments.

I was gonna say Google Photos. We love using Google Photos! Dh and I share all of the pictures from our phones with each other and it's so easy to share a folder with anyone. All you have to do is add their email and they can see the pictures.

Totally agree! UR points and UA miles being "equal" (in that the transfer is 1:1), I always check how many miles an award ticket is on United, then check how many points I need to book the same flight as a cash fare on the CSR's UR portal. And a lot of times, the UR portal wins out, and as a revenue flight you earn miles (PQM and PQD if working towards status) too. This would really piss me off.

I just wanted to add to everything above that between the airline fee credit, the Saks credit, the Uber credits and the cash-back offers that I receive on my Plat (and my kids receive on their AU Plats) I more than make up for both the $550 AF and the $175 AU fee. These cards are money makers for me on top of the benefits like lounge access, etc.
