After almost 4½ days of pending at 2 weeks, I've been approved for CIP#2! Happy to join the rest of you guys drinking from the CIPpy cup!

ETA: This is my 4th open Chase business card, with my CIP#1 still open. Previous biz cards are CIP#1 (6/16), Marriott Biz (2/17), CIC (5/18). I dropped back down to 4/24 last month. Slashed my personal and business CLs in February and March. Credit line for CIP#2 of only $5k, so I might've still been pushing it (but that seems to be in line with many other CIP#2 DPs). Used the same name with initials and SSN as CIP#1 for CIP#2.
Congrats party:

Thank you for asking this. I was thinking the same thing.

Wow! Congratulations!
For me. As easy as Amex and easier than chase. I’m on number two and p2 got one. Plus a personal.

These offers (and the ones DoC posted) are making me want to get a Citi AA Biz card. Except now I have to wait until we need another MSR.

How hard is it to get a Citi AA Biz card, if one has a "business" that is?
Easy as Amex and easier than chase. Same business. I am on number two with a mailer and p2 on first plus a personal. Plus I did chat for a match and got it. $$$

Thanks. This gives me hope. I'm putting it in the queue of cards to get next.

I have two travel questions:
1. It was briefly discussed but it still wasn’t clear to me whether CSR travel benefits kick in if I purchase the entire ticket in UR points. I was thisclose to booking us all but this little nagging question stopped me.

2. My dad is sick but well enough, at the moment, to travel. He wants to go to Spain this summer but he needs travel insurance in case he is not well enough to go. Obviously, he needs an insurance for him and my mom that will cover trip cancellation due to a pre-existing condition. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good travel insurance company?

Thanks and congrats to all on approvals!

We've bought travel insurance from Allianz a 3 times, but haven't needed to use it. After looking online at insure my trip and figuring out what we needed (incl. pre existing condition) we went to AAA and asked for a quote. It was the same price, same company so we bought it there. It's cheaper if you purchase it within 14 days of booking the trip. If not it costs more to add the pre-existing condition clause (and I end up doing that most times since we don't want to commit to a trip right when we put down a deposit on one).

I'm not an expert in this (not even close) so I hope someone else will come back with a better answer. But this is what we have done in the past.

ETA - I can't answer the CSR question since I'm not entirely sure about it. I'm kind of wondering the same thing.

New $1.5 Billion Atlantis Resort Could (Finally) Be Coming to Hawaii - TPG

This resort would go up in the currently empty parcel right next to Aulani, and the sheer scale of this project screams eye sore, crowds, traffic in what is otherwise still a relatively quiet corner of the island. Unlike Disney, which I know consulted with local groups and leaders in respectfully integrating Hawaiian culture into their resort and ensuring Aulani fits its location, it sounds like the Atlantis developers literally want to dump a carbon copy of what they have in Dubai in Hawaii. I hope Disney puts up a big fight with the city council, because this monstrosity next door would destroy the tranquility that Disney's created at Aulani.

I hope this project never happens or at least is tailored to fit Hawaii (but I look at what's happened to the Kakaako neighborhood in the last 10-20 years, shake my head, and what do I know?)

OT but since it was a topic of discussion a few weeks ago, I’m currently in contractor HEdoublehockeysticks! I know this is par for the course in dealing with contractors but is it really too much to ask of someone to just be a decent human being and not lie?

Contractors stink sometimes. We had one that not only did an awful job, but did things without even asking us for approval first, which screwed up things that weren't even broken in the first place. It cost us more to hire someone else to fix what the first contractor messed up. Worse part was, our neighbor's brother happened to see the first contractor and hired him for a job, and the contractor apparently took his money and never showed up. Only reason we found out was because when he saw our second contractor, he confronted him, thinking he worked for the first contractor. Our second contractor told us about it. We've never actually met the brother, and our neighbor has never mentioned the issue to us, but I still felt horrible about the whole thing, because you know he hired the first contractor thinking he was vetted by us. Anyway, I hope your contractor issues turn out better than ours did.

And Atlantis sucks lol

How are you getting AA Business mailers??? My family and pets all signed up for Aa accounts and I only get personal mailers. And we signed up as businesses

That's the million dollar (or should I say million AA miles) question, isn't it? I really don't know. I've always gotten personal ones, but just got my first biz mailer a month or so ago. I didn't change anything - my address is still selected as "home", not "business". I didn't have any business cards from any bank before they sent me the first mailer (I do now have a CIP). I only have 17k pts in my AA account, the bulk of which was from US Airways over 12 years ago.. I'm not actually sure I've ever flown AA now come to think about it - my US Airways pts just automatically got converted to AAdvantage whenever they merged. I've just been making one small purchase, usually a groupon, through the AA shopping portal every 15 months or so just to keep my miles active (yes, I've been doing that for over 10 years, lol).

@wendow seems to have figured out that Citi thinks plants are good business owners, so maybe adopt a few plants. :rotfl:

When did you get approved? Just trying to figure out when to expect mine.

Applied for both on 3/25 (DH's in the morning, mine in the afternoon) and got instant approval on both. DH got the fake out packet on 3/29, and I got mine on 3/30. Actual cards came 4/1 and 4/4, respectively.

YUCK! If they do that, I will never make it over to Aulani or the Four Seasons next door. I totally agree about it being an eyesore. They ruined Paradise Island when they took over the hotel that was there. I really hope it doesn't go through.

And Atlantis sucks lol

100% agree with you on this. And we just spent one day there.
I know some people love it, but it's not my cup of tea.

Hi Everyone! I have a couple of questions...

1) I've had the SPG/Bonvoy card for almost 3 years now. I stopped using it after they lowered how much you earned per dollar. Should I cancel it? The free night stay is nice but not sure if it's worth the $95/year.

2) I'm going to Japan in November. Any advice on which airline to use? I have Amex MR, Delta skymiles and Alaska miles. Also, I'm going to visit Tokyo and Kyoto. I have time to visit another city. Any suggestions on which one?

Thanks in advance!

I... er, my friend... has done this.

Said friend also told me the AF posts on your original card anniversary, not your PC anniversary, so if you're particularly clever you can extract a lot of value out of this. I would never dream of abusing this, but... Chase doesn't seem to particularly care.
Hmmm

I loved it the first time I was there and last year it was run down, dirty, and unsafe. It has to potential to be great place. Maybe a US based one would be run better?

Ugh! I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with Citi because I can't login to my Biz account. 3 people, clearing cache & cookies and clearing out of browsers multiple times and still no. The guy at the end goes "I'll give you 1,000 miles for your trouble". So I asked him for the match to 60K and he says I'll have to call AA about that. Umm...no, I'll just do a late night chat for that -- IF I CAN EVER GET INTO MY ACCOUNT!!

I know you understand my pain, I hate talking on the phone.
Omg the Citi pain is real. I spent the same amount of time with Citi because I can log in to my Citi account where I can see my total TY points but can’t log in to TY points site to use said points. At some point the rep said, you can just call in to redeem points. On what? I can’t see what I can spend them on! I mean I don’t call Target and say “hey I’ve got $20, send any random clothes you’ve got” Grrr

If you upgrade a CF to a CSR, does anyone know what happens to AU cards that are on that account? DH has a CSR that will hit its 1 year anniversary in June, and he has a CF that’s about 10 years old. I’m an AU on the CF but not the CSR.

If I downgraded his CSR in June, then upgraded his current CF to a CSR, would I pay an additional $75 if I stay an AU on the now-upgraded CSR?

I can remove myself as an AU on his current CF, but since I do most of the shopping I find it convenient to have a card in my name. Not convenient enough to pay for it though.:)
My experience was upgrading DHs old CSP (on which I was AU) to CSR. An AU Card showed up for me and on the website clearly showed $0 for AU. When the CSR AF hit, so did the AU$ 75. So I had a CSR for a few months. When DH called to have me removed as AU, they wouldn’t credit the $75 until I returned the card in the envelope they sent.

Question on Citi biz mailers - my mom has been getting Citi mailers with pin codes and she let me use one to open up a new card. She would also like to open up a Citi biz card. Could she use a public offer (not from the mailer) and continue to receiver mailers (that I could selfishly use?) Or once she has a card in her name, the mailers will stop?
