I honestly can't wait to take kids to Disney and let them be in control of our trips. I'm sure there will be some things we want to do, but for the most part I think it'll be really fun to let them run the show.
Ha, they run the show at more than just Disney, or at least my DS does. Our world revolves DS. It’s his world and we are just glad we get to be apart of it. Heck, despite hating dissecting the frog when I was in high school, when DS asked me to come to class to assist, I jumped at the chance. When your 7th grader still wants you around, it feels pretty awesome.

Does anybody know of any points you can use to purchase Hershey Park tickets. (I’m assuming there’s no option but just checking). :)
Good question. We have APs and when DS wants to bring a friend, I am usually able to find a discount to purchase a ticket. This year they gave APholders a free ticket so he can bring a friend with him three times since we have 3 free tickets. Focuses, they expire 6/30. Make sure you check out their preview plan.

Business cards shouldn’t hit it. But did she close any personal cards and/or have increased spending on any personal cards? Such a large movement in my experience is usually attributable to credit usage ratio.
Hmmm...now I am wondering if mine will take a hit since I just made my final car payment this week :)

My son favorite ride was the BUS!:moped: Really he would be happy riding the bus to the parks and go back to the hotel and go to the pool :confused3:rotfl:. He talked so much about that I decided to book AKL instead of BLT so he could get tons of bus rides!
We may have ridden back and forth from WL to MK multiple times when DS was little because he loved riding the boat. And I think the monorail too.

Ok. Glad it's not just us. Hopefully her's will jump back up next month too because I'm confused as to why this happened.

At any rate, I need a new card. Thinking about Ink Unlimited since we could use another 50k points and don't currently have a 1.5 card. Here's where we are right now. Am I correct about our /24 status? Anyone have any other options? Should we start thinking about diversifying beyond Chase?

P1 (2/24?)
07/17 - CHASE Disney Visa
05/18 - CHASE Ink Preferred
10/18 - CHASE SW Biz
11/18 - CHASE SW Plus
ETA: There is also the Freedom I have had for years.

P2 (3/24?)
01/18 - CHASE SW Plus
01/18 - CHASE SW Premier
07/18 - CHASE Ink Preferred
10/18 - CHASE Sapphire Reserve
01/19 - CHASE Ink Cash

Your 5/24 stats are perfect...You could get the CIU next for P1....then later on for P2
But
I noticed P2 doesn’t have a CSR or CSP...what about one of those or both via the MDD down the road If you can meet the $8k MSR...
Or...get an EIN...and have P2 refer P1 for a CIP with EIN..

As far as other issuers....do you want to keep one or both of you under 5/24...so your able to get SW CP again down the road..and do you have a use for other points

Just had to share this story with my mom for y'all:

I texted her tonight to tell her to start looking at Disney restaurants since we're coming up on 180 days(!!). I told her we were planning to eat lunch at BOG and our fancy dinner would be at California Grill. She told me that she remembered eating a really good steak at a restaurant in the Contemporary but didn't know the name of the place. I figure it can't have been anywhere but Cali Grill, but I didn't remember going there. She said this would've been in 1995 and I didn't go because I loved the babysitting place at Wilderness Lodge so much that I cried to go there and play instead :rotfl2: There you have it, folks. You take your kid to Disney World, put her up in a deluxe hotel and offer her a steak dinner, and she just wants to go to the babysitter.

I'm iffy on the name but Contemporary used to have a pretty decent steakhouse style restaurant called the Concourse - at least I think it was a name similar to that.

Not directly anymore I don't think, just reimburse (like UR). I haven't seen them offered in any travel/redemption portal lately. They're always discounted somewhere though, worse case is usually Giant which there is one near the park. But the special they have on the site now should beat that as the best I recall Giant tickets being is around $10 off which still puts them in the $50 range now. Even with the convenience fee online it's showing $43 if bought by 3/31.

@wanderlust7 Don’t remember seeing the account open date but the balance and CL match my CIU. it was the only card with that much balance at the time.
I should be able to add a DP to this soon. My first CIP statement closed yesterday with a $3300 balance on a $5000 CL. I didn't pay it early since I figured, business cards don't go on my personal report so I may as well wait to pay until closer to the due date. I'll report back if my credit score changes.

I would also like to say that losing the 3x for Venmo on the CIP totally stinks! I pay babysitters $200 a week to watch DD2- through Venmo. It was a big part of my plan to hit MSR on my new CIP, and I got in one week's worth of payments before the coding changed. I ended up funding a PNC savings account instead (I got the checking account back in the fall), so it's fine. But paying my babysitters on Venmo from my checking account every week hurts.

Seriously. The latest DPs suggest you don’t even need to add, omit, or change your middle initial/name; just use the same name on apps #1, #2, #3...! Folks are getting approved for two or more CIP within 24 months, using the same name and SSN, on self-referrals.

That is crazy.

I want to get DH another CIP but it will probably be close to the 24 months anyway as we have 2 other MSR’s working on (Hyatt and BBP). His CIP is coming up on renewal date in April. Should I transfer the 10k card limit to the CIC or CIP and then cancel? Or just close it outright? I would like to increase the chances of an automated approval. I need to lower the limit on the Hyatt but overall his card limits are low.

I’d just cancel it with the 10k limit....I feel it would improve his chances of auto approval

FYI: rteetz who mods the rumors board is pretty down on this rumor

He indicates a mid-November opening is more likely and that July previews are a somewhat ridiculous idea (ie highly unlikely). Perhaps WDWNT is jumping the gun here...

I pray that rumor isn’t true! We are going the 1st week of November and I DONT want to deal with StarWars crowds.

wait, you needed a babysitter in 1995????? I am so old.

I would've turned the ripe old age of 6 on that trip.

Maybe that was it!! I'll have to ask her.

Just wondering who among here would change your churning strategy if Chase eliminates transfers between CF, CFU, CIC, CIP, CSP, CSR old Ink Plus/Bold?

I’ve been thinking about that and I would likely still continue to earn Chase points on some of my cards. However, I would definitely consider canceling some depending on the specifics of such a change. It could easily force me to place a greater focus on Amex MR and even TYP.

Just curious on how others view a potential change.

My kid has never wanted to “go back” to Swim, but he will beg in the morning, or when we pass the pool, to go swimming. But it’s not instead of parks, just in addition. We usually go swimming once each trip. I’m not even sure why DS wants to swim on vacation when he never wants to swim during the summer at home (last year, day camp included swimming 2 days per week and he always complained those days)

Do the day camps include groups from other organizations? Ours did and DS refused to go into the locker room to change. He insisted on wearing his swim clothes to camp and after swim would go back to the learning centers/classrooms without changing. Later we learned the pool was open to 4 different groups not associated with the program we signed him up for.

I'm not sure it would change too much for me long-term, but that's probably because I've only ever really planned to use URs for Disney, even with no longer being able to book them through the portal. So I would probably just continue spending as I normally do to hit different bonus categories on cards, and then charge portions of my Disney trip to each card and cash out for URs. We plan to go to WDW again in 2021 for the 50th anniversary and DH I would like to do a nice trip in a deluxe. I plan to use URs for that, even if I have to cash them out, and continue to accrue discounted gift cards.
