The Force Awakens is like a beat for beat redux of A New Hope with different characters swapped in who I don’t care about. But at least it vaguely felt like “Star Wars.”

The Last Jedi was so bad they’re talking about retconing it in the third film. So bad, they had to bring JJ Abrams back to salvage the saga. Old man Luke was so totally out of character from the Jedi Knight we knew, even Mark Hamill himself was disgusted. What the heck was the point of big bad Snoke — only to get cut down to show how “bad” Kylo Ren is? Sorry but Kylo Ren is an emo kid who is a poor man’s Darth Vader. I did not need to see Adam Driver shirtless, much less the Kylo Ren Challenge that it inspired. What was the point of that whole detour to the casino planet — to get the one code breaker in the galaxy who can do whatever it is he’s supposed to do, only to find hey another code breaker dude is good ‘nuff? And the whole Holdo character was insufferable, who was clearly written in because of Carrie Fisher’s untimely death, and who could have avoided the whole mutiny drama if she was a better leader who inspired confidence in her plan instead of keeping a tight “I know better than you” lip.

And what the heck is this whole “Resistance” thing? Another poor man’s Rebellion. 35 years after they took down the Emperor, and they’re still fighting remnants of the Empire, who still have the resources to build entire fleets and planet killers? Where’s the New Republic? The Expanded Universe novels (at least the earlier stuff) published through the 80s and 90s did a much better job at plotting and telling the story of our heroes after Return of the Jedi. Until Disney came along, relegated the EU novels to non-canon because they thought they could tell a better story.

Sorry, not impressed.
I see you have some strong feelings about this... 🤣

Thanks @afan, I’ll try some light stretches too. Seems like a good idea because I do feel really stiff. I tend to baby my aches and pains which isn’t always best. I usually stream a tv show before bed (been watching through 24 again, one of my favorites), but I think I’ll stick to an audio book tonight so I don’t need to sit up.

Don't be afraid to sleep in another position either. Sometimes I have to sleep on my back with a couple pillows so I'm propped up a bit for awhile and then when I wake up later I feel better and can go back to my normal side sleeping.

DH just told me that on one of his last work trips he was paying for something and the person noticed the labels on his card and mentioned them... so he explained... and she told him maybe it was time for him to be a big boy and learn how to use his own cards :rotfl:

She needs to mind her own business. Does she realize how many cards he's actually working with and how often they change :rotfl2:

Right? I mean, it's funny but also what, like I would never make a comment like that to someone! Also surprisingly DH kept his cool because normally that kind of thing annoys him. When telling the story tonight he was all, I wanted to tell her weve basically been on one trip a month because of that and she probably hasnt been on vacation in years! Maybe she should use her cards better, she probably doesnt even have a credit card :rotfl:

Help! I am trying to find a room for our arrival night on our WDW trip in December.

As badly as I want to just stay on property for the entire trip staying on the first night does not make sense. Our flight lands at 11:40 pm. We always rent a car so getting on property is not an issue. (One of the caveats DH has with us going so much...he wants the ability to escape even if we never do).

I would like to stay as close to WDW as possible. I have two free nights at Marriott from our Brilliant (I think category 5). I have a free night with no restrictions from my IHG card. I also have the free night from the Hyatt card. I need a room that is bookable and usable for the free night and will sleep the 5 of us.

Any suggestions? @calypso726 I know you have mentioned using free nights for time around WDW.

I would probably just cave and Disney math rationalize staying on property but it is a Friday night the 6th and cheapest room on property is Beach Club at $414. Unless you all think I should just do that. :)

Y'all, just a vent...All our MK days for our upcoming trip have gone up according to TP's :( This *should* be a slower time. A lot of kids are going back to school, and what kind of decent parent is pulling their kid out the first week (:rotfl:). I'm kidding...if you are *that* parent lol. Anyways, SWGE isn't open yet, it's surface of the sun hot, hurricane season and it's first weeks of school for like70% of the country. So, what gives people!?!

We are landing at 1am and still staying at Pop lol! But we won't have a car. My dh's requirement for going to Disney is that he doesn't have to drive so opposite from your dh :D

There is a Marriott Village, which includes 3 different properties (courtyard, RI and can't remember the other), not far outside the gates. It's by the outlet mall. Those are cat 5.

I agree with this a thousand, million percent! New benevolent dictator??

I don't think school starts for that much of the country next week. West coast doesn't go back til around labor day. Up here it's generally after, especially this year with it being so early in the month. I think CA is around the same time as is OR. I also don't think all of the south goes back quite this early. But I did notice that the numbers changed but I'm not going to worry about it. It's all fiction as far as I'm concerned, they don't fully know what they're doing with it any more. And you'll have AP's, just hop :)

Just throwing out another option. What about using Hyatt points or URs to stay at the Hyatt at MCO? It’s only 12K Hyatt points so not a bad redemption.

I did not need to see Adam Driver shirtless,

Well I enjoyed that part lol the last Jedi was probably my least favorite out of the new films. I really liked Solo and Rouge one but the Force Awakens was great it was like the first one but updated with a better graphics/budget/acting so how can it not be better???

I think I’m the only one who doesn’t like the old movies lol. I just think they’re boring.

They are fine but I really cringe with like how bad the acting is in some of them. I think mark hamill is awful. Rey is a much better Jedi

This is how my DH would be

Wishful thinking... I did do WM GC with WM GC to combine some into a bigger WM GC at self checkout, but its been a long time. I was using swagbucks VGCs to buy WM GCs online to get around the 2 Visa rule with Sam's. Lately I've had enough orders to do that I havent needed to combine GCs, I just put in separate orders to use them all.
Ah that must have been it. I thought I remembered seeing GC as an option when buying a eGC but I haven't checked the sites in a while. Oh well, can still take a crack at self checkout... but that means actually stepping foot in a WM, wishful thinking indeed :p

Our schools here in CO go back either the first or second week of Aug (depends on district). I thought most of the south was same - I know TX & GA go back early. I want to say my cousin in Houston area said her kids go back first week of Aug.

Here in Michigan we go back anywhere from mid August to the day after Labor Day.

Thank you! I was thinking of you today with extra empathy. :flower3: I don’t THINK it’s a disc, I think it’s muscular/ligaments. Or it’s possible it could be a kidney stone since they run in my family unfortunately.:sad1: Hope you feel better soon too!
A KIDNEY STONE! Yikes, pay attention to that. Thanks for thinking of me. Praying you wake up in the morning and jump out of bed good as new.
