We won't land until 1:25am so we definitely won't be stopping by the desk...Hmm, did you have the voucher sitting in your account? We will be upgrading existing tickets but not until our first park day, which won't be until after checking out of Pop.
We did have the voucher in the account and activated the following day at DS. But I've never had anyone verify an AP at the Disney hotels, in your case I would book it. I feel like that's not really playing the system since you're upgrading this trip on your first park day.

What is wrong with me, I get in my email to reset a password and of course have another email about the S10 from Samsung... opened it for whatever reason and now I want one :rotfl:

Can I book a PH rate for Pop now if we are upgrading tix when we get there (after entering park)?
I have booked passholder rates for my parents before (when they traveled with us) and never had it checked or questioned. If you can book it through the TA site I definitely would.
I'm going to take the other side here and say pass. You could end up getting charged rack rate if they ask for your AP- a long shot but it's still a chance. Also, you don't want to put the TA relationship in jeopardy with Disney, or a future TA relationship if you don't have one directly with them right now, by having a blemish on your Disney record you know? A little bit of savings is just not worth it.

Speaking of reusable straws and storage, my dd19 carries chopsticks (w their own bag) and a nesting spoon/fork/knife set in her bag at school. She hates one-use plastic.

I'm thinking of getting a few sets of reusable utensils in their own carrying bags for when we travel. I'm the weirdo at Food & Flower & Wine & Garden reusing the same plastic fork all day lol

Hyatt Places in Orlando are back on the Chase portal. They've been MIA for a few weeks so I'm pretty happy about this! Rebooking to save a few bucks in Nov now!

ETA: oh wait, lol I'm not... forgot about taxes and fees. Darn, I love to re-book and save a few bucks for some reason :rotfl2:

We do this too. I'm all for the health of the planet & I can deal with the paper ones in a water or soda, but they just don't work in milkshakes. DF tried so valiantly to use the one they gave him at Sci-Fi, I thought he was going to suck up the glass itself. It still didn't work. And, I don't want to drink my milkshake with a spoon...
I was wondering how a milkshake would work! I know I saw Beaches & Cream still had those big thick straws for the speciality shakes when I was there, but I did not see a regular shake being consumed :scratchin
Honestly, that was me for years before I was given my first set of resuable straws. I don't want the tooth staining that comes from coffee so I've been drinking my coffee through a straw for about 20 years...and only had reusable straws for about 12 years so I'm sure I consumed a lot of plastic for awhile :(
I hear you 100%! The amount of Coke Zero, iced coffee, and tea I consume would destroy my teeth! That is one of my main reasons for loving straws!

I picked this set up at Walmart for work a few months back.
https://sistemaplastics.com/products/to-go/cutlery-to-goEveryone thinks it's super cool :rotfl: I will admit that my first reason here is that the vending company my company hires provides paper plates, plastic utensils, and condiment packets... they changed ownership a while back and the new people don't stock on weekends, so we typically run out sometime on Sunday and are out until they come mid-day on Monday (an issue when running three shifts!). But also the plastic ware they supply is terribly cheap and breaks easy anyways, so these are nice. They would be good for food and wine too, I always feel bad grabbing multiple forks even if they are the compostable ones like they get.

I went into Verizon a couple of weeks ago to talk to them about switching to unlimited. He was very shady about the whole checking account/debit card discount. No thanks. I think I might actually have my DS(the data hog) get his own plan instead of dealing with that. I hate giving them anymore money than I already do.
Ugh, sorry you got shady info! I was actually able to save a decent amount going from shared data to unlimited. The auto-pay made it even better! I think it is $5 per line saved.

I think so. We are not necessarily hikers tho, so... must do research :)

I also feel like @Ngwira had a semi recent trip there
Yes we did and it was fabulous. Stayed at the Fairmont Lake Louise for free when Chase had the Fairmont card and the sign up bonus was two free nights.

Sam’s cancelled the order (automatically, they said, because it seemed suspicious) & now I’m on hold trying to get the intended shipping address.

This happened to my mom a few months ago with a clothing company & my dad was able to get the intended shipping address by pretending he needed to change it. So now we know exactly who the criminal was (or where the criminal intended to pick up the merchandise) & my dad was able to call their local police station. Hopefully I can find out some info about this criminal, too.

I mean, we checked in at Pop before we actually activated our vouchers with an AP rate and they did not ask or check... I think others have done similar. With online check in now, you wouldnt even have to go to the desk for that one night... :scratchin

I would 100% book the AP rate! I've been staying on AP rates since 2016 with split stays (so probably 6/8 a year) and have never ONCE been asked to show my annual pass.

If you are skipping the desk, there won't even be time to verify it. The CMs can also see the vouchers in your MDE if they pull up your profile at the front desk/concierge.

That went viral but in metal straws defense the lady was disabled and I think that played more into her stabbing herself in her fall than anything else. If the straw is pointed upward and a person/child falls, the drink is not likely to stay straight up, it's going to fall with the person rendering everyone safe. That particular version of the story left out what I think was the most important part "...Mandy said in a statement read aloud to the inquest, adding that her wife was prone to collapsing "like a sack of potatoes" at random intervals due to underlying health conditions..." If you or your child is prone to collapsing like that heck no should you be using a metal straw because the straw could definitely stay up in a fall like that, but most people and children do not collapse like a sack of potatoes :( https://news.yahoo.com/woman-dies-10-inch-metal-163157311.html

🤮 They explained things a little too clearly. Ick She definitely shouldn't have been walking with one, but anyone can trip. Just like walking with scissors is a no no. I don't really use straws, so hopefully I am safe. lol I can see issues with squirmy kids and just having the drink on the table even.

DH got home late last night, he was supposed to land at 12:10am but the flight was delayed 30min from Vegas. Then when he got into DIA they put them in the last gate of the SW terminal... train said 8 min til next one arrived, only one side was operating... he said they got on and the sign switched to out of service. They got pulled into the maintenance tunnel and all sat for 15 min until they sent the train back. If you're familiar with Denver, there is the main checkin terminal and the 3 departure terminals are in a line so the train stops at each.. by now there were more people at each stop trying to fit on the single train... He was not impressed :rotfl: Then he was up this morning and he and FIL headed out. They are driving ILs car out to Cali so they don't have to keep a rental. He comes back Monday night; originally booked SW for 15k RRs, late flight with layover in Vegas, since we weren't sure this plan was happening. Remembered to check other pricing this morning after he left, Frontier has a better flight for $150. Nonstop, leaves an hour later but gets home an hour earlier. Hello Frontier, please meet DHs CIP...3x points towards MSR! lol

Does it taste better than Magic Kingdom water?? :crazy2:
HAHA so nasty! I feel like I am drinking Splash Mountain. I can even taste it from the QS soda fountains. I do find Gasparilla's tastes the best. IDK if the Freestyle has better filtration or if the GF added some new type of filtration during the refurb in 2016, but it 100% tastes the best on the monorail loop.

It really doesn't seem to matter where it comes from or filtered through a machine...just nasty tasting. The only place I will typically buy bottled water is in MK. Maybe i'll try one of those water bottle personal filter things but curious if it would help with that taste.

The Starbucks in MK is always nuts, but it seems to do a good job of getting the water to taste good. I know Starbucks has some fancy 3-stage filtration thing from my Target days so I guess the proper filtration can help!
