The doctor messed up big time. He knew it immediately too. Cancelled all other appts and headed straight for the ER with them. Stayed with my FIL at the hospital that evening while she had surgery.

My inlaws waited several weeks but then filed a medical malpractice suit. They weren't going to but then the reality began to set in of how life changing this will be. My FIL is going to have to retire early now, help caring for my MIL as my FIL cannot do it all, selling their home and buying something else, the medical bills, etc.

I'm so sorry for the pain you MIL is going through right now, and how drastically life changing this is going to be for them and your family.

I also wanted to post to see if there are any more recent DPs on whether CIP is still coding 3x on Plastiq. I've seen the posts about pending UR that suggest 3x, but I also recall maybe some Reddit DP about it only getting 1x. I have two utility bills to pay and wondering about using Plastiq and my CIP. They are both fairly small, so I might just go ahead and be my own DP but thought I would check here first.

@amalone1013 can probably offer the most recent DP here. She's waiting on points from a payment made yesterday morning to go pending.

Well I was just on the phone with Chase and redirected to 5 different people. I called because I was trying to confirm one of our hotel reservations for Japan and I'm not seeing it on our account. Thank god I saved the email! They kept redirecting me to someone new who was supposed to help me and finally the last person said she could see the reservation and confirmed it. She also told me the hotel won't see our reservation until a couple days out. That doesn't seem legit and I'm worried our reservation might not even exist with the actual hotel. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

I would contact the hotel anyway and see if they have it and not fully take a chase rep as fact. However it's not at all uncommon for travel portal bookings to not show up at the hotel until a couple of days before the stay, it's part of why I don't like booking with them. WDW is different because of mde, fp and me etc so not a good comparison.

Oh gosh, we don't have a quiet Costco at any of the three remotely close to me. I wish! I have gotten to where I just dread Costco. We joke it's like trying to get down main street or around the hub after the fireworks pushing a stroller

No self checkouts either. We keep wondering when they will get them (since Sam's right up the street has those and 'scan & go') but I think our store is way too busy for self checkout.

I agree. I avoid Costco at all cost. I’ll take Sam’s club any day!

I think you and I are the only ones who feel this way lol! It's just night and day difference in my costco and my Sam's. I feel like I have to get my battle gear on before going into Costco lol. I actually enjoy Sam's. And I LOVE the scan and go app!

Don't be. If they work at a hotel answering the phone there's a very good chance they speak english.

Did he answer moshi moshi blank hotel or something different? They never taught us how businesses answeres just that you answer the phone moshi moshi.

Not all of them, nope. It's only been in the last few years we can buy beer for take-home in less than a case outside of a bar/restaurant, in PA. If you wanted beer you went to the beer distributor where it had to be sold by the case (24 pack) or keg. Fortunately they updated that law and distributors can sell by the bottle now too. If you wanted liquor or wine you went to the State store for that. While inconvenient the smart distributors opened shops near the state stores so you could do your alcohol run all at once. Liquor is still 100% controlled by the state but they allowed grocery stores to start selling wine at least and then recently they can get a wine & beer licenses.

It sounds terribly bizarre to most people, but growing up here it's terribly bizarre to see it all together in gas stations elsewhere!

Yikes I thought we had it tough in Texas with our blue laws. We can at least buy beer and wine at most stores, and liquor at the Liquor stores. No liquor sales on Sunday though and beer and wine can't be sold until after 11am.

I have the ebags Motherload and like it. I would recommend it. I've been buying packing cubes and messed up my last order (not spending $100 on amex, put it on the wrong card entirely). I also recently bought my kids new luggage. I need nothing, but have the FOMO. Crazy. What else do you guys have and love?

I am getting ready to book our cruise on RCCL Oasis of the Seas for December 2020. Prices are great because it is before the Holidays and the kids will just be getting home from college on Winter Break. So, I have about 400,000 UR's right now. Just starting to replenish my stash after using 200,000 from the last cruise. I am having such a hard time parting with these points....

Originally was going to go cheap (as we have other vacations planned for 2020). So, for 4 in an inside cabin (which we have always done 4 in a room and it works) would be about $2100 or with CSR or 140,000 points. Then we have been spoiled with balcony's so I priced us for 4 in a balcony room and it would be $2750 or 183,000 UR's. Then for the heck of it - I priced out 2 Inside Rooms that connect. So kids would have their own room. That would be $3200 or $213,000 UR's. An extra room would be nice but then giving up the balcony. They don't have 2 connecting balconies available (and it was more than I wanted to spend anyway).

I have the points - just hate using them. I like to hoard them. But I know I can get more... I don't know which way to go.. Any suggestions.

I went to the UR portal and just looked at what it says I am earning on my next statement under where it says how many URs you have. My account was easy as that's the only thing I have at all since my statement just cut before this and it's listing 5600pts for an $1860ish payment. DHs also has an amazon charge that went through at 1xURs but when I subtract that from what is earning on next statement it is 600pts for the $200 payment.

I just bought the mother lode junior. And a cord organizer I never knew I needed. I still have the offer on DHs card and now $5 more in eBag dollars. What else should I buy. Ha. I may buy the regular size mother lode for DH. Or DS can use some luggage. He is the only one without. Though he does prefer his duffel I think.

So, I just redeemed some AA miles and used my latest card's $250 travel credit for actual flight and car through the AAvacations site. I didn't want to do it because I need all that for WDW but it's a situation where better to do it than pay cash and actually better flight options on AA portal.

Long story short - my MIL went for a shot in her back about 6 weeks ago. To help with back pain. Doctor nicked a nerve and she immediately lost all feeling below the waist. Had to have emergency surgery to relieve a hematoma in her spine. Hasn't been able to move her legs or any feeling below waist since. Was in ICU for 3 weeks, then moved to a rehab facility and in a few days is moving to a different one. They are going to have to sell their 4000sqft 2-story and get a small ranch. My dh needs to go back to help his dad in about 10 days.

Was super thankful to have the miles and travel credit. SOOOO much cheaper than cash for flight and car!

So sorry your MIL is going through this. Hoping for a successful recovery. Prayers for your family.

I'm confused...you can't get beer and wine in grocery stores?

In RI we have so many lawmakers that own liquor stores that we will likely never see alcohol sold anywhere but there. I love visiting places where we have the luxury of buying beer in gas stations and grocery stores but it’s a foreign concept around here.
