@bernina It worked! She called and said they grilled her big time. They lowered some of her other credit limits to approve her. Fun to live vicariously!

Awesome, congratulations to her!! party:

Both times I called in the main concern was verifying income and then shuffling credit. I’m wondering if including income for me + DH wasn’t really necessary. I figured the higher number would look better but I think it just triggered them to verify. We’re not talking a crazy high amount or anything either.

I'm pretty sure there's someone on here that has their dues set to autodraft but pays them early with disney gc they get discounted, I just can't remember who it is. I'm pretty sure that's what they were talking about doing anyway, I don't have DVC so some of the stuff gets jumbled together for me but I am curious about it for some far off day in the future so I try and remember stuff :)

@Hoosier John - I am many pages behind in this thread so this may have been answered already. I believe @afan is referring to @Judique. Upon seeing her posts about this I now also pay my DVC dues with Disney GC. I am set to autodraft from my checking account. But as I earn gift cards (swagbucks, etc) I pay the dues. You need to go into your DVC account and "pay by contract." Then you can pay the amount of the Disney gift card.

I did a bit of searching and found some DPs from 2016 that paying your DVC dues will trigger the CSR $300 travel credit. Any recent experience? Since we have $13K MSR to meet thanks to our 3 new cards I was thinking of paying off our yearly dues in full (currently auto draft from checking).

I paid my timeshare maintenance fees with CSR and it did trigger the travel credit. I didn't get triple points for the first $300 which was allotted to the travel credit, but the rest of the timeshare maintenance fees got 3x points.

Awesome, thank you!!

Paying DVC dues qualified for me back in January.

Yes, I’ve been discussing it with @1st*toright and was also surprised people weren’t more excited about this. Thought I must be overlooking something but it seems legit.
I’m leaving hockey now. Will update when I get home.0

Looks like it has been explained.

Seems like good backup for those of us who otherwise don’t have much use for Amex points for transfer partners and aren’t doing the Schwab route.

I saw July cc double dips on dcl today at *gt rates. It was only $4k for me and the 3 littlest kids like July 7 or something. It was a 5 night. I have said this a couple times this year, but I think they are discovering their “ceiling” of what they can charge. There have been some surprising gt rates come about.

Unfortunately I don’t have $4k for that unless I cancel my May wdw trip and use those funds. Boo.

Is this being done with a specific card? Via some AMEX travel portal. While it was “discussed” it would be nice if somebody laid it out straight. It honestly doesn’t matter to me but I also can’t follow the strategy nor could I advise somebody on how to do it with that I’ve seen posted (unless I missed something when perusing the thread earlier on my T ride).

Check the DISchurners news thread.

I don’t have a Citi card. If I jump on the train (a little more since have Barclay Biz) will that impact my chances with getting the next Chase Biz? It would be a hard pull on credit. I thought I have read Chase does not care about that but I wanted to double check.

I haven’t actually done it yet. But the plan is book a refundable Fine resorts collection at a 1:1 rate (Amex plat only I think?), then cancel, and refund comes as credit to card, not points...effectively cashing out at 1:1 to use at Disney. Did i explain that well? I tried looking for a fake ressie to book today but got distracted so it is still on my to-do list.

Eta: yes it is thru the Amex travel portal and it was basically discovered on accident by 1st* and I just took it and ran with it.
