I Like Warm Hugs! - Mommy/Toddler Trip ~ Updated 6/20: New Trip Report Link!

Wow you guys got a lot done! It's hard when you are alone with a toddler, you always end up feeling kind of like a pack mule!

The pirates ideo, is so sweet!Loved the tink meet, so cute!

Loved the updates!

Great thinking to get the FP+ for Mickey and Tink. Great pictures, especially the ones with Mickey - those really came out excellent!

It's amazing the things you discover when traveling with a little one - like the rocking chairs in Town Square. I bet most people (myself included) have never even noticed them.

Oh my goodness!! That was so cute!!! She looked just totally enthralled with him! I'm so glad you did a video so we could see! Haha

I love your follow up interview. I love seeing her talk (even though I know this was a while ago). it's fun to see her on video instead of photos!

Mmmm, those BLT fries look good. I had to laugh about Izzy not eating them because they were waffle fries, though. Because Landon is the exact opposite. He lives, breathes, and sleeps Chick Fil A, and that's the only place we let him have a couple fries, and they are the waffle kind. So, he doesn't know how to handle regular French fries. :rotfl2: I feel like Izzy and Landon are like yin and yang. One likes Minnie, the other likes Mickey, one enjoys one version of a food, the other prefers the second version. :confused3:rotfl:

I have to admit, that talking Mickey interaction was way cuter than I expected. I don't know much about Talking Mickey or what he's like, but it seems like it is a fun interaction. From the video, it looked like hearing Mickey's voice made him familiar to her and kind of put her at ease.

Ahhh, I miss the days when my shoes entertained me. Good times.
Haha, yeah, if only things were that simple now. Of course, when your legs are that short and you're constantly in strollers and carseats with nothing else within reach, shoes are pretty awesome novelties. The next day, Lauren has to take Izzy's shoes away from her, as she's having too much fun with them to fall asleep for her stroller nap (while I'm riding ToT).

Hahaha, I was the same way as a child. It doesn't matter if it's the same food. If it looks different, then it's not the same.
Hmmm, maybe that explains Izzy's disdain for broken food - a broken cookie is clearly a different food than a whole cookie, right. :confused3 :rotfl:

Awww , yay for singing the pirates song. Too cute.
I just loved that she learned that song. It will re-appear in the next update, actually. She still loves it, but we sub in different family members for "me" - i.e. - "A pirate's life for doggy". :thumbsup2

Definitely nice to get a fastpass (or two) last minute like that and not having to wait too long either.
Yes, glad I tried that. I wish it had been a bit sooner, as I could have maybe met Mickey immediately and then made it back in time to swim, but this was good too. It was nice to get in some bonus things I hadn't planned for this trip.

I've noticed that since Mickey started talking, his waits have gone up. It's too bad on the one hand but it actually makes me happy that more people are visiting Mickey again.
Yeah, funny story on that - in June, Lauren and I saw the sign for talking Mickey and it appeared to say "0". We got all excited until we saw it from a different angle and it said "100". :faint: We skipped it that time. ::yes::

That video is ADORABLE!!! Seeing Izzy smile like that with the big cheese warms my heart.
Aw, thanks! You can definitely see how she is a bit nervous at first and then warms up to him. She loved the choo-choo bit, so I'm really glad he did that. She still loves it when anyone pretends to be a choo-choo. Glad we did that meet.

Wow you guys got a lot done! It's hard when you are alone with a toddler, you always end up feeling kind of like a pack mule!
I was really impressed with how much we did. I knew I was going in with ambitious plans and I fully expected that we'd miss some things, but we did a lot better than I could have dreamed.

The pirates ideo, is so sweet!Loved the tink meet, so cute!

Loved the updates!
Thanks! We really had such a fun time!

Great thinking to get the FP+ for Mickey and Tink. Great pictures, especially the ones with Mickey - those really came out excellent!
Thanks! So glad that I managed to snag those FP+ and that the meets went well. I think it was a good use of our time, though I was a bit disappointed in missing the planned pool time.

It's amazing the things you discover when traveling with a little one - like the rocking chairs in Town Square. I bet most people (myself included) have never even noticed them.
Yeah, I don't think I've ever noticed them before either. I'm going to keep them in mind as a possible parade viewing area now, though! :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness!! That was so cute!!! She looked just totally enthralled with him! I'm so glad you did a video so we could see! Haha
I figured, with a talking character, video was really the best way to capture the interaction. Really glad the CM was all aboard on that. :rotfl: I love looking back on those videos (there will be more to come).

I love your follow up interview. I love seeing her talk (even though I know this was a while ago). it's fun to see her on video instead of photos!
It's really interesting to look back at videos like this and see how her language is developing. She is quite a little talker now - almost always speaks in full sentences, which I find amusing. Like, I can ask a quick thing such as "wanna cookie?" and she'll answer something like, "Yes, I want a cookie, Mommy." It's just crazy to me that my little baby can interact so much with the world now.

Mmmm, Chick Fil A! We actually just got some sort-of around here not all that long ago and really haven't taken advantage of that yet. Need to remember to go there when we are out and about - we love it! And I actually prefer waffle fries.

I think Landon and Izzy would get along really well. They'd never have to fight over anything, as they'd each want one half of the whole. It reminds me of back in college when I discovered a friend that was my perfect match for a bag of Hershey's Miniatures - I only like the Special Dark and Mr. Goodbar and he only liked the Krackel and Milk Chocolate.

I have to admit, that talking Mickey interaction was way cuter than I expected. I don't know much about Talking Mickey or what he's like, but it seems like it is a fun interaction. From the video, it looked like hearing Mickey's voice made him familiar to her and kind of put her at ease.
Yes, I think talking Mickey has a lot more ability to put kids at ease (or scare them, I suppose, if he's not on his game). She seemed uneasy until he told her about the train and started making noises and she loved that. I'm not sure the mime version would have had the same effect. I hope you and Alex and Landon get to do that next time! :goodvibes

We had to wait for the second bus, as the first filled, but that allowed us to get a decent seat, I think. While we waited, a girl in front of us was playing peek-a-boo with Izzy from a distance and it was really cute:

Izzy also decided to start singing Yo Ho while we waited. It’s a bit hard to make out with the other music from the bus stop, but here you go:

The line was kind-of awkward in that people were not lining up within the rails. Waiting:

Not a lot of us for this bus.

We rolled back into Everything Pop at 9:32pm:

Definitely too late for a swim. It felt like 8:32pm with the time change and Izzy normally goes to bed between 7-8pm (closer to 7, usually, at the time of this trip). Plus, we needed to get some sleep after our early morning departure and before our big Frozen Fun day the next day. On the way in, I remembered that the Pack ‘n’ Play I’d requested online hadn’t been in the room, so I went to check with the front desk. They said one would be sent right over, so we went to our room. On our way out:

We got back and unloaded Izzy, who wasted no time in climbing onto a bed:

I found a great spot for the Pack ‘n’ Play:

I noticed the message light was blinking on our phone, so I checked it. Turns out it was for this girl:

Minnie and friends had left her a birthday message! pixiedust: Since I got the sneak preview when I checked, I called her over and played it on speakerphone for her while taking video (the other shots were her listening again afterwards):

(click to watch)

She loved hearing that message and we listened to it several times throughout the stay. So glad they did that! :thumbsup2

Then the Pack ‘n’ Play arrived. It was already set up, which was nice (though hard to get through the door/bed obstacle course). I put it in the empty spot and that worked great. I set up Izzy’s bedtime stuff, then realized that I’d forgotten to stop into Everything Pop to pick up a half gallon of milk for Izzy. I debated going all the way back, but I really wanted to get Izzy to bed with the late night.

It was right at that point that I began to hear Izzy chanting a common refrain around here, “I want cheese!” She REALLY wanted cheese. She LOVES cheese (and all dairy products, really). I guess that decides it – I was fairly certain I’d seen cheese sticks in the cold cases in food courts before. ::yes::

So, we headed back (guess I forgot to put her shoes on):

I found it really amusing that we were on a late-night Disney cheese run! I hadn’t wanted to keep her up especially late, then threw all that out to go acquire dairy products that she desired. Only on vacation. :rotfl:

So, we got into Everything Pop and went to the cold cases and…there was NO cheese. I looked and looked, sure it had to be there somewhere. I finally went to find an empty station to ask a CM. They thought there was some too, but upon checking – nope! :sad1: Luckily, I’d asked at the salad and sandwich station where they had slices of cheese. I asked about buying just some cheese from them. However, they were super sweet and gave us four slices (2 provolone, 2 American) for FREE! What great pixie dust! pixiedust: Izzy wasted no time:

She loved the cheese slices. And I don’t blame her – the little I got to try when she got full was actually quite tasty!

I also got the milk we came for (took a bit to find, as it looked like OJ in that container) and I got a package of grapes for us to eat in the morning:

I actually had been looking for some sort of yummy pastry for morning, but nothing really caught my eye that night. My receipt says we checked out at 10:12pm and the total was $7.23. Way, way too late! Oops. At least we had yummy cheese and good memories.

Izzy ate almost all of the cheese on the walk back to the room before sharing a bit with me. I realized that we had a Ms. Pacman in our window:

I guess this is what was left when we arrived to our room:

Oh, and there she is offering me a taste:

Such a sweet girl! It was good, especially since I don’t really like American cheese and I liked it!

Izzy was actually excited to get to bed. I guess she’d had a long day and was feeling it. She played around briefly in the Pack ‘n’ Play, but passed out while I was unpacking and prepping for the next day:

I finished prepping things, took a shower, and got right to bed too. So much fun in store for us tomorrow: Frozen Fun at DHS with Lauren and Aria AND a midday jaunt to Epcot!

Up next: Really, our Magical Depress envelope ALREADY?!

Aww loved that she walked up to Ariel all by herself. What a big girl!

I'm so worried that DS will 'chicken' out right before loading into a ride and just start crying and throwing a fit. Especially if it's on a ride where we're with other people, like Pirates.

It's almost midnight and i'm exhausted, but can you explain to me, how you're able to get different FP's for you and Izzy? Does that question make sense? :lmao:

I've heard Pirates has different boats and you now get really wet and people are pretty upset over this. Have you experienced that?

LOVE the wrap up interview you had with Izzy after your Mickey meet! Adorable!

A late night cheese run :rotfl:

I'm amazed at how well she goes down in the PnP. Does she sleep in one at home ever? Lately he's been really scared about getting into one, so now he sleeps in the bed with us (on vacations only!) and I move him into it later when I know he's fully asleep.

Aww that's so cute with the girl playing peek-a boo. Disney really is one big extended family.

And speaking of cuteness... Izzy on the phone listening to her message. That is so precious.

Ahh the only thing better than cheese is free cheese. :) Nice of Mickey and Minnie to share.

Fun evening at the resort. I would have totally gone for cheese too. Lol. It's vacation. What's bedtime for but to skip it?? Lol

That birthday call was adorable. How close was this trip to her birthday?

And I'm so impressed that she's talking in full sentences now. Caden isn't there yet. :( I can't wait til he is! Everyone says that once he's full on talking I'll wish he would stop but I don't believe that. Not after waiting this long. I'm going to be so happy to hear the thoughts in his head!

Yes, and more of that to come!

I'm so worried that DS will 'chicken' out right before loading into a ride and just start crying and throwing a fit. Especially if it's on a ride where we're with other people, like Pirates.
Hope he doesn't - that Pooh thing caught me totally off-guard. Luckily, she perked up upon entry into the ride. :confused3

It's almost midnight and i'm exhausted, but can you explain to me, how you're able to get different FP's for you and Izzy? Does that question make sense? :lmao:
No problem. I think I've touched on it before, but it's due to a loophole that I believe still exists - you can use FP+ kiosks (only the kiosks, not the app) with Magic Bands that were NOT used for park admission that day. There is a whole giant thread about it on the theme park boards where people do some crazy things to get "extra" MBs, but I never ventured into that stuff. However, Izzy's bands are not linked to a ticket, as she's too young, but they work at the FP+ kiosks, due to the loophole. In fact, back in June, Lauren and I brought our DH's MBs (they weren't with us) and they worked too (hers had an AP, Dug's just had the used Dec. 2013 ticket linked to it). However, if you have multiple MBs yourself, they won't work for extra, as they are (presumably) all linked to the same My Disney Experience profile and are all clones of each other. Hopefully that makes sense - that's the big picture summary.

For my purposes, since it was just me and Izzy, we only needed one FP+ to do something, since she was too young to need one. So, I used my MB to make the 3 advance FP+, then went to a kiosk in the park with her MB and was able to make 3 on hers. I just switched off which band I used to enter the attraction (need to make sure to remember which ride is on which band). After the 3 were used, both bands worked the same to add one attraction at a time. In my case, I only needed 1, but with you and DH and DS, you'll need 2, if you all want to ride. So, you could do a number of things, but one idea is to get DS's 3 FP+ to match up with 1 FP+ you have and 1 your DH has, so that you get an extra ride from it. And his third could be something that 1.) only 1 of you wants to ride with him or 2.) something you and DH want to Rider Swap, since you'll just need the one FP+. Again, let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Also, as I mentioned in that recent update, right inside City Hall, there should be 2 FP+ kiosks without CMs, so you can try out DS's band and make sure it works for this purpose. Obviously, you can have plenty of fun without taking advantage of this loophole, but it's nice to know it's there and it can help out when you're trying to knock out a bunch of things quickly. (On a side note, it seems odd that Disney hasn't done anything about it yet - the old FP+ machines would only work if you had used the ticket for park admission that day, but for some reason the new kiosks don't reject the non-admission MBs. :confused3)

I've heard Pirates has different boats and you now get really wet and people are pretty upset over this. Have you experienced that?
Hmmm, I am not aware of that. I did think it was odd that all the back rows were closed, but not sure what was up with that. It does seem like there was a lot more splashing with the cannon fire this summer than I'd remembered before, so maybe that's it?

LOVE the wrap up interview you had with Izzy after your Mickey meet! Adorable!
Aw, thanks! I'm glad I did a few of those throughout the trip - so neat to capture her reactions like that.

A late night cheese run :rotfl:
Only at Disney. :lmao:

I'm amazed at how well she goes down in the PnP. Does she sleep in one at home ever? Lately he's been really scared about getting into one, so now he sleeps in the bed with us (on vacations only!) and I move him into it later when I know he's fully asleep.
She sleeps in her crib at home and really likes it. When we're out during nap or after bedtime at someone's house, she usually sleeps in her little tent, but sometimes a Pack 'n' Play. I am not sure, but she might sleep in one at daycare - I guess I should check what she naps in these days. :rotfl2: That could be why she's so comfortable with it!

Aww that's so cute with the girl playing peek-a boo. Disney really is one big extended family.
I love it when other guests create magic! pixiedust:

And speaking of cuteness... Izzy on the phone listening to her message. That is so precious.
I love that they did that - such a nice bit of Disney magic that we didn't expect. She really enjoyed it. Nothing like having a message from your favorite friends waiting on your phone!

Ahh the only thing better than cheese is free cheese. :) Nice of Mickey and Minnie to share.
Could not agree more! :thumbsup2 So sweet of the big cheeses to share!

Fun evening at the resort. I would have totally gone for cheese too. Lol. It's vacation. What's bedtime for but to skip it?? Lol
Haha, glad I'm not the only one. We've messed with her sleep a lot more since this trip, but I remember feeling sort-of guilty about taking her out so late. But it was also super fun - just a I-can't-believe-we're-doing-this moment.

That birthday call was adorable. How close was this trip to her birthday?
The trip was about 3 weeks before her 2nd birthday. And I remember a phone CM (I think when I called for room requests) asking incessantly about things we could be celebrating and they prompted me about birthdays, which is why they had the info.

I'm sure Caden will be there soon. Though I agree with you - I think it's adorable when she gets in a talking mood and I'm not ready for it to stop yet. I kind-of wonder if she has a genetic advantage for language, as she has two grandparents (Dug's parents) that had careers as French teachers. :confused3 Of course, sometimes you don't like knowing what's in their heads - like when I got her up this morning and she greeted me with, "I'm sad!" She can't always answer the "why", so it gets tricky (I think she was sad about getting up?)

Thanks for breaking down the explanation for me, totally helps! Do the CM's know that this is a loophole and are we technically 'allowed' do this? I'd be so embarrassed if I tried doing this and a CM scolds me

I think all of that is up for debate. When Lauren and I first tried this in June, we had one CM that was trying to do everything for us, despite us stating that we could handle it ourselves, and she acted suspicious of us. But we were still able to get what we wanted. Otherwise, nobody has batted an eye. However, that concern is why I mentioned the unmanned kiosks - no nosy CMs to worry about. I didn't get any strange looks doing it on this trip. The only thing I'd steer clear of are "kiosks" that are really CMs holding iPads. I did one of those in AK and it tied into the app and nearly messed up some of my FP before I cancelled out. Otherwise, no issues, but I wouldn't go around advertising what you're doing either.

This morning started off with a rather uncooperative Izzy. She had no interest in getting dressed and starting our Frozen Fun day at DHS. Instead, she wanted to lay in my bed and read her Olaf counting book (at least Frozen-themed, I guess):

She also kept saying she was going “nigh-night”:

I finally managed to get her partially dressed. However, I’d bought a sparkly white skirt for her to wear this day. I had gotten it because her blue Olaf shirt was technically a boys’ shirt and she had been mistaken for a boy while wearing it before (more than once). I thought the skirt would make it a bit more girly. She was having none of that, though. Who cares that Mommy scoured the stores and internet for a skirt that would work? She was SO squirmy that I literally could not put it on her – she was really putting up a fight. The poor rejected skirt:

What’s she looking at, you ask? Well, of course that would be an ‘80’s poster in our ‘90’s room:

I thankfully had packed a pair of blue and white shorts as a spare and she happily wore those. She won that battle. She also happily wore her Anna socks. You may have noticed a couple things in the skirt picture:

1.) I set up a cup/bib/snack container/etc. drying rack by the sink – out of the luggage rack and a towel. Worked well!
2.) She is eating the grapes from our cheese run. I would have been eating the grapes, but she “mine”d them with such ferocity that I ate a breakfast bar I packed instead. (Guess you can see who was in charge this morning). Of course, despite my repeated warnings not to spill the package of grapes, she spilled them on the bed. I snatched them away to the trash, except for a few on top of the pile (that had not touched the bed) – I snagged those. They were good.

Once we were ready to get out of there, I opened the door and found...our Magical Express departure envelope on the door! I could not believe it - we'd literally just checked in the day before and we were already being evicted! That brought home what a short stay this was. But we still had a full day and most of the next day left and were going to make the most of it! (And, spoiler alert, we really did. We did so much and had so many magic moments in this long weekend - all 4 parks and tons of attractions and character meets and special things!)

We had planned to head out at 8:00 and it was 8:14 when we were here, so not TOO bad, all things considered:

By the way, blurry shot, but this is the only one I have of the playground we passed each day. We never did have a chance to use it, since we were so busy in the parks:

When we got to the bus queue, it was empty:

This allowed us to be the first aboard the bus and snag our favorite seat. Izzy was pleased about this (and just really likes selfies – I have like a dozen of these):

Here is our favorite seat:

It’s our favorite because it has a built-in spot for the stroller. It’s right behind the bus driver. Just two seats, then that perfect slot to slide the stroller into. I tried to get this seat whenever possible, as it was perfect for traveling solo with a toddler and stroller! (You may notice I also stashed the backpack on top of the stroller).

While we waited for the bus to fill, Izzy tried out some of the other empty seats:

The bus didn’t fill up, so Izzy was able to keep her own seat. She had more fun taking selfies. Here she is offering to share her paci with you:

We also worked on staying seated on the bus. Naturally, being a toddler, she wanted to stand and such, but I didn’t want bad habits to start young. Sure, those buses are mostly safe, but one sudden stop (and we’ve had that happen in the past) and everyone goes flying. Especially an unbalanced small person. I just kept reminding her that, “We sit in our seats on buses.” It mostly worked. She did turn around to check out the view as we arrived at DHS:

And, soon, we were making our way up the path to DHS:

I was texting with Lauren and found out that she was in the leftmost line. I had thought about going over there, but was kind-of stuck in the middle of the crowd. And I was in a short-ish line, compared to the others nearby, so I stuck with that:

Obviously, the gates were not yet open. I noticed that the mom in front of me was holding fleece jackets for her whole family:

I couldn’t help but wonder why. The low this day was 77 and the high 93. I know it was Frozen Fun, but did they really think it would be that cold? All I could think was that they brought them for Oaken’s and/or ice skating, but still – not THAT cold. But, who knows, maybe they had their reasons. Just got my attention on such a hot day.

Our line started moving, as did the others. I couldn’t help but notice that the line just to my right was moving MUCH faster than ours. At first, I thought maybe it was due to the elderly CM at mine, possibly moving a bit slower. But, no, that wasn’t it. Instead, it was that each opening has two sets of scanners – on the left and right. My line was dedicated to the right scanner and there was another line for the left. However, that fast-moving line to my right was a single line that utilized BOTH the left and right scanners at their entrance. So, keep an eye out for that in the line formation – it was a much faster-moving line due to that.

Once we got inside, we grabbed our “take-along Olafs” from the stand that was set up:

I have to admit that I totally forgot about the whole thing we were supposed to do with these – taking pictures and posting to social media and they’d use some of them in the show later. We just played with them (and still have them, actually).

Lauren and I were still separated at this point, as she’d gotten in more quickly in her line. We decided to just meet up at Oaken’s Trading Post, our first to-do for the day.

Though we were in the park, they still had to do rope drop. Instead of the normal show, it was a special show with Olaf on the big screen. I actually have video of it, but it’s too long to upload to Photobucket – and that’s probably okay anyway, as I was way off to the right and could only see part of the screen and most people around me look hot and bored. I’m sure you can find better videos online, if you’re interested.

Once they let us in, we headed towards Oaken’s, which required us to follow the same route we would for Toy Story Mania. Instead of the old Toy Story Mania Stampede of pre-FP+ days, though, it was the Calm Stroll to Toy Story Mania:

Everyone was just walking along at a brisk pace, but not crowding or pushing or running or in a panic. SO different! Granted, I was in the middle of the pack vs. the very front, but it was very orderly for 9:02am.

However, we got distracted by this guy you see on your left:

Yep, that’s the one:

Izzy waved back:

Woody liked that and wanted a high-five:

After that, Woody began frantically gesturing to us to come around to see him. Like in a way that we couldn’t say no and thought that something magical might be happening. Even though this wasn’t on the plan, I went over to the CM by the rope and told him Woody was beckoning us in. I parked the stroller and hurried inside, at his instruction.

Up next: I guess Woody used to work at a restaurant in Little Italy?

Haha, can't blame the girl -- when you want some cheese, you want some cheese! :rotfl:

Ooh, the suspense...very curious to see what Woody had up his sleeve!

Ooh total suspense!!!

Lol at your morning. #toddlermomproblems haha (I never hashtag. Just seemed like the thing to do here)

Your parenting style seems very similar to mine. Everything you did was exactly the same as I would have done. Lol. Right down to making her sit on the bus because "we sit when we're on busses". Lol! That's EXACTLY what I would have said to Caden. (And I'm sure will be saying...in less than a week!!!!!)

A late night cheese run...that's too funny. At least you never have to worry about whether or not Izzy's getting enough calcium.

Oh man, I'm glad to see my kid isn't the only one who can have a stubborn morning. Sorry the skirt didn't work out. From experience in child care, I have discovered that girls have strong opinions about their clothes from an early age. They know what works for them and what doesn't. Hahaha

Sorry the entrance took so long. Usually those end ones go faster because everyone congregates in the middle.

A spur of the moment meet and greet with Woody? Sounds awesome! I mean, it was pretty cool you got to see him as you were walking by, but even cooler that he wanted you to follow him! Can't wait to see what happens

Wow. I need to keep up on TRs! I forgot you were going to be at WDW that weekend. While you were sitting on rocking chairs with Izzy, John & I (no kids) are actually checking out the glowing Mickey heads across the street. I don't take many now, but I checked picture times to be sure. I could have taken your castle pic for ya! :rotfl: When you left, we were buying pins at the exit on the monorail side. I'm a bad DISer, I guess.

I love following along with Izzy's adventures anyway. How funny that she wouldn't wear the skirt, after all the trouble you went to for it. Little ones are such fun sometimes. Awesome that you did a cheese run.

Keeping up now!

Haha, if she wasn't reading an Olaf book I would have guessed Izzy was just over this whole Frozen thing, lol.

Oh dear, I keep forgetting about the departure notice. Having never done ME before, I've never gotten one. I have to admit, I'm not looking forward to it.

I LOL'ed at the pacifier hand off. :rotfl2: Too sweet.

That's so cute that Woody called you in. Curious about his past job now. :scratchin

Haha, can't blame the girl -- when you want some cheese, you want some cheese! :rotfl:
No, I don't blame her. I was born in Wisconsin, so I'm sure I passed the Dairy Gene on to her. :rotfl2:

Ooh, the suspense...very curious to see what Woody had up his sleeve!
Haha, it won't be very exciting, actually. :rolleyes1

Ooh total suspense!!!
Ha, I'll try to get to it soon. Be prepared for a letdown... :sad2:

Lol at your morning. #toddlermomproblems haha (I never hashtag. Just seemed like the thing to do here)
I don't ever hashtag either, but that seems appropriate! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Your parenting style seems very similar to mine. Everything you did was exactly the same as I would have done. Lol. Right down to making her sit on the bus because "we sit when we're on busses". Lol! That's EXACTLY what I would have said to Caden. (And I'm sure will be saying...in less than a week!!!!!)
Yay, I'm not alone in figuring out how to do this parenting thing! :goodvibes I think I (and likely you) differ from a lot of parents I see in that they seem to get upset at their kids for doing the wrong things vs. I know that she's young and isn't trying to do the wrong thing by standing on her bus seat, she just doesn't know what is expected yet and I need to teach her, with the assumption that she will want to do the right thing once she understands. I know that you do a lot of expectation-setting with Caden too. Of course, maybe when she's older, she'll be rebelling and standing on purpose and that will be a whole different animal. But right now, I know that she wants to be a "good kid" and gets really upset when she messes up. Some people who have witnessed her bursting into tears when being told no think it's a game, but I think she is genuinely upset that she has done something wrong - I'm the same way - I hope I'm not projecting onto her, though. Anyway, that's the long story of the bus-lesson. :rotfl:

A late night cheese run...that's too funny. At least you never have to worry about whether or not Izzy's getting enough calcium.
This is true! And there's some protein too, so not bad. She really loves all dairy, though: plain Greek yogurt (will eat large bowls full), cottage cheese (same), cheese sticks and slices, milk, ice cream (rare treat), butter (toast is only a butter delivery system to her), cream cheese, and we recently discovered that she will happily eat a bowl full of sour cream, as if it was yogurt. :lmao:

Oh man, I'm glad to see my kid isn't the only one who can have a stubborn morning. Sorry the skirt didn't work out. From experience in child care, I have discovered that girls have strong opinions about their clothes from an early age. They know what works for them and what doesn't. Hahaha
Yes, she often wakes up and says which type of shirt she wants to wear (usually "Minnie", "Doggie", or "Meow Meow"). If you don't abide by that or if you are out of the chosen variety, it takes some slick talking to convince her that something else is okay. :rotfl:

Sorry the entrance took so long. Usually those end ones go faster because everyone congregates in the middle.
Yeah, if I wasn't stuck in the middle of the crowd, I would have gotten over there. But I just saw a picture in another August TR with a DHS pre-park-opening line and it was WAY longer than the one I was in, so I felt good about that, at least. ::yes::

A spur of the moment meet and greet with Woody? Sounds awesome! I mean, it was pretty cool you got to see him as you were walking by, but even cooler that he wanted you to follow him! Can't wait to see what happens
I loved that he waved and high-fived on the the walk-by! After that, eh, we should have ignored his persuasive pleas. :rolleyes1

NO WAY!!! I want to go back in time now and hang out with you guys during that time! :goodvibes That would have been way better than running around empty spots and rocking and drinking water, etc. Man, I think we've had some other near-misses, but that tops them all! SO close!

I love following along with Izzy's adventures anyway. How funny that she wouldn't wear the skirt, after all the trouble you went to for it. Little ones are such fun sometimes. Awesome that you did a cheese run.
Thanks. She still has not worn that skirt (other than trying it on when I first go it). Unless it fits her for quite awhile (and it might), I don't think it's going to get much/any use. I love the cheese run. So silly, but why not?

Keeping up now!
You better! Especially if you will be there anytime between May 14-18 or May 22-26, as that's the next planned visit for us (Disney cruise in between).

Haha, if she wasn't reading an Olaf book I would have guessed Izzy was just over this whole Frozen thing, lol.
You know, she did kind-of lose some interest in Frozen for a time and it has really ramped up again lately. She would have even more fun with this event now, I think. She randomly breaks into Let It Go and, frankly, knows more of the words than I do. :confused3

Oh dear, I keep forgetting about the departure notice. Having never done ME before, I've never gotten one. I have to admit, I'm not looking forward to it.
It always brings down the mood to know you have to leave. It really does when you just got there. :sad2:

I LOL'ed at the pacifier hand off. :rotfl2: Too sweet.
What can I say? She's a generous kid. :rotfl2:

That's so cute that Woody called you in. Curious about his past job now. :scratchin
I based that comparison on our experience walking by restaurants in Little Italy when we visited NYC. :rolleyes1

Is Izzy wearing a nightgown/sack? That's adorable!

Aw too bad that's a cute skirt. Nice try mom!

I love how resourceful you are with the luggage rack. Such a fantastic idea...if for some reason we don't have enough counter space (which would honestly be super sad for 3 adults in a one bedroom :lmao:) i'm using this idea.

Man, that was quick to get the luggage tags :sad1:

What a good little bus rider you have.

Ooh a cliffhanger with Woody :hyper:
