I like FP+

We have AP's who don't live far from disney. We have been many times since FP+ started and with the old system. Just this past weekend we went to AK on Saturday and LOVED not running to the safari or Everest to get a fast pass before continuing with our day. We did other things first and knew we could get on those rides at our FP+ time. Same thing at MK. No running around collecting paper FP and confusing my littlest one by going over to a ride we were not going to get on until later. We used 6 FP+ at MK this past sunday.

It seems that many people don't like FP+ but for those still planning their trips, don't worry! I think the new system is great and you might too. We have stayed on site 5 times in 2014 and we have loved the magic bands for our room and charging also. We have been lucky that we have yet to encounter a single problem with the bands working anywhere in the park or at the hotels.

I like it too. ;)

But boy are you going to hear it. :mic:

People hate FP+. And they will be here very soon to tell you of all of their terrible stories. How their child was sad and wanted to go home because they couldn't get a fast pass to mine train. How they are no longer going to Disney because FP+ as ruined the parks. How they are just waiting for Disney to change it back. To do away with Magic Bands and My Disney Experience.

And then they will tell you that if you like it, it is only because you got every ride that you wanted.

Good luck.

It's cool for some things (like getting to ride TSM or 7DMT without showing up at rope drop). But it sure takes a lot of getting used to and could use some tweaking to work well. Of course in some cases Disney wants the guests to be the ones to do the tweaking.

If anyone is actually waiting for WDW to change it back they will have a long wait.

We liked it for our August trip. It allowed us to bang out all of NFL and most of Tommorowland during the RD hours, then ride a few headliners when the crowds started filling up. My only gripe is I thought for sure you'd have the ability to book your 4th and beyond via the app by now.

You forgot:
  • changed their RD experience
  • ruined the touring plans they have used for years
  • made all the other ride lines 7,000 times longer
  • kills puppies for sport
  • bathes in the blood of the innocent
  • invented telemarketing and
  • was on the Grassy Knoll in Dallas in 1963.

I haven't been yet (going 13-20 December) with FP+, but the planning has actually worked very well for us. We can enjoy our nights (stay out/up a bit later) and not worry about getting to a park later in the day and not get on the few big attractions on our list. I also like the ADRs. We have 5 groups of two...each picked a place to eat dinner (late ADRs since we can stay up longer...see how that works)...all are nice spots and we get everything done in the parks.

I agree. I'm a planner and love it too. Have never tried the old system, but know I wouldn't have liked running around the park to grab a FP only to return to that ride later on. This way is much more efficient and you know upfront which ones are booked.

I thought I was going to hate it because my husband and I used to ride headliners multiple times by getting a new fastpass every two hours. However, since we toured with our toddler this time and only rode a few headliners by ourselves, I thought it was great. I loved changing times or rides on the app if we were running behind schedule. Also, we found my DS loved characters, so I was able to switch a fastpass we didn't really care about for a character meet and greet and bypass the wait immediately. Overall, we had a great experience!
We even got to ride 7DMT twice and meet Anna and Elsa!

I must agree, I liked it for our trip this past August. And now that I have a trip with FP+ "under my belt", i think it will be even better next summer.

Havent used the FP yet, will give it a whirl next Month on my solo trip. I am purchasing a AP so will use it soon. Kind of anxious to see how it works. I like the idea of not having to run around the parks like crazy to get the old paper ones.

I like FP+ too, but it was nice to be a "super-user" (i.e. abuser) of old FP and pull like 20 in one day.

You forgot to mention the ppl who will post "that's awesome that it worked for your touring style, but for most it does not"

I loved FP+ too. Looking forward to our next trip! Honestly after using it I can't imagine going back to a paper system, it would be like ditching my smartphone for a legacy phone, or my computer for a pad of paper...

I'm sure I would like FP+ too, if I was a local AP holder.

It would be great for that kind of situation.

Local AP holders have lots of complaints. The good rides are gone by the time they decide they want to go to the parks. They can only book 7 days at a time unless they have a resort reservation. 30 days vs. 60 days. Etc etc.

Yep. I hated that my husband and I were never together. Well, unless we were on a ride. He was dashing around getting fast passes. I was waiting until he got back, to get in line.

You are right. I forgot that one.

Of course, most is used as though everyone tours like they do. How the heck do they claim to know that?

Why would an AP holder complain that? They can book a resort (and FP+ at 60 days out) if they want to just like everyone else.

We just visited Disneyland, which still uses the paper Fastpasses. After running all over the park all day to get them, I have to admit that FP+ has grown on me. It isn't perfect, but not having to worry about getting there at the buttcrack of dawn to see A&E and not zigzagging our way across the park has some merit. I'd like to see more of a combination of the two systems, but all in all, if I had to pick, I'd probably now have to go with FP+.

This! I was just at DL and readjusting to the old system was very difficult. I never managed to pull more than 2 or 3 FPs a day, but running all over the park, plus finding that a currently issuing return time overlaps my lunch ADR or another ride was frustrating. FP+ could use a tweak (I really don't think they needed to add it to EVERY ride; some don't need it), but overall it's an improvement.
