I have never done UG - but I did TGM for this trip - I think he has good logic - but there is A LOT of info on his site - I am not sure I would subscribe this late in the game

Honestly, just go early and you'll be fine. We just returned and found that the days we arrived at opening we could do everything and hardly even needed fastpass because the wait times were fine. By noon time on it was a different story. Take mid-day breaks and go back later for fireworks, etc. when you don't have to worry about ride wait times. Just my opinion but it has been listed here often and it really makes the most sense I think during the summer hours. We did some resort mornings with swimming etc. and did just evening events which was fine but we noticed fast passes gone by late afternoon for most popular attractions. Also, we were surprised that many of the show attractions at MGM were over by dinner time - definitely a park to hit early to take it all in. Xtreme Stunt show only had 3 showings when we were there on Tuesday and the last showing was around 6:00 pm. If you can work morning visits in with your itinerary of other things like dining, resort time, etc. I think you will do just fine on your own. Enjoy.

Thanks for the advice! We plan on getting to all the parks by opening and taking a break during the day, then coming back later on. I feel like we will be fine, but heard everyone raving about TGM that I thought there were some 'secrets' in it.
