Yes! I considered flying to Orlando last October for one night on my birthday - just $82 for the night at ASM, $150 RT for the flight + food. Total: $250! I would have saved nearly $750 for the family and I could stop obsessively checkng the boards!

If we book a bounce back offer and then decide not to go, how much in advance would we have to pay for cancelation fees or do you always pay cancel fees? I guess if there are none to pay for awhile, i guess it would make sense to book it then.

Just remember to decline the trip insurance you cannot get it back if you cancel (and check when you get home to make sure it's not on the ressie -happened to us last year). You'll pay the deposit, I believe it's still $200, and have until 45 days out to cancel w/o fee's.

We were there Sept 1-12 at AKL....Stupid, stupid me, I let it slip through my hands. Let hubby convince me that we had enough Disney and wouldn't be back for at least 5 years.
Well, little did I realize how strongly my addiction would beckon me back!
Now I wish I would have just booked "in case" so I could be breathing calmly right now instead of "hoping" I can get the offer that I stupidly let slip away!!!
How I hope it is not a lost cause

Glad to see folks think like me. I was in WDW last Oct. 24th. I was staying in my DVC resort and saw the BB for free dining for 2010, so booked it then. You put down a $200 deposit and can book as many rooms as you have adults in your party. I don't buy insurance. I can cancel 45 prior to arriving and no fees. And yes, I just choose a date I thought I wanted to go and have since called and changed that date to the following week. Plus the kicker was that there was a current Visa free dining going on in October and it only included the QSDP and the BB was offering the basic DDP and I thought, wow, maybe next year this may all change, so I booked it. It's all good. I guess it depends if you want your $200 deposit sitting in the Disney bank for a year -- and remember that is $200 deposit per room if you book more than one room.

At this point it might be worth putting down a 2,000 dollar deposit

We were there in June last year and I should have booked the BB then. It was for a % off the rooms, can't remember what but I should have booked it

Thanks! I'm not sure what we'll want to do next year, but I think I'll book it anyway to avoid this heartache and stress. I'm the type though, that once it's booked I'll most likely go. I don't like to cancel things. Now that I think about it, a whole year to pay off the trip would be great.

My husband said the same thing (a one time trip) last year and we wound up making another reservation for this year only weeks after returning home.

Yes, and as long as there's availability...

Note that BB offers are typically targeted to where you stay, however, a similar offer is available for all types of properties. If the offer you have only says mods/deluxe, or value/mods, call and ask for the other properties.

FD is typically the same for all of them - % off room is typically tiered.

So this got me to thinking...we only take one trip a year and it's always end of May, beginning of June. When we go the BB is only through the end of the year. What if i book something and then try to change dates when they start offering BB for May/June? Do you think that would work?

I am officially an idiot Now it seems like Fall is going to work better for us...again...and I am obsessively checking the boards, hoping for a free dining code. I guess it's worth it to book it just in case! You can always get the deposit back and at least there are no worries about waiting for a discount!

Ok, can you all please explain the Bounceback thing??? I've read several threads about it but just don't get the specifics. We are going in May (5nts at BLT) so I need to get my head around this and think about whether it's something we want to do or not.

-How do you know what the bounceback offer is?
-Do you have to book it while at Disney World?
-How do you book it?
-Can you book just a room only or is it a bounceback package?

Sorry to be a pain - I'm just trying to become less confused.
