there are so many tank tops now w/ built in bras. For me, this is the only way to go in disney.

Also, there is a bra - I can't remember the name off hand - at Macy's called "breathable" bras - comfortable but w/ a breathable thin mesh. I will get back to you when I find out - they are for all sizes too!

woops - SORRY - I meant to post a reply to a question and I started a new thread.

I don't just start talking about bras for no reason - hehe!!
:p

I'm sorry to start something but unless you are 110 pounds or less and wear an A or maybe a B, you really need more support than those little camisole/bra things give. I have a good friend who is a AA or AAA and can get by with it and looks great. I am a definite C and would love to wear one but would be almost obscene looking if I did. Now, I do wear a really comfortable sports bra that I get at WalMart. It gives great support and the straps don't move. I have a 14 year old son and at 6 Flags I have to steer him away from some of the scantily dressed girls and some who are not girls anymore and old enough to know better.

You didn't start anything - I was referring to another poster. She said she was small enough not to have underwire so I was giving HER suggestions.

Anyway, there are many tank tops now what aren't camisole like and have complete built in bras. I am 30 and 150 lbs and almost a C cup and I am not dressing scantily as you mentioned some do when I wear them. I have gotten mine from JcPenney's, Lerner, Macy's and Victoria Secrets - all for women, not teens. I can not dress in full heavy shirts even t-shirts when it is 100 degrees out. The less the better. I have never been offended by someone wearing a tank top w/ shorts!!

You can have your opinion on this matter but I was just offering advice to someone who asked - I just put it in the wrong posting.

Jaymie, the discussion got moved over to Disney Tips board, and there have been some great ideas.

Thanks Clutter. I may check it out.

Oh, and I did forget about the really good tanks with the real built in bras I have seen at Pennys. I may get some of those. I was thinking more of the kind that are really not much more than a cotton camisole with one extra little layer. Those give way too much information to the observer.

Actually.....I am larger than a C cup and can wear some of the tanks with built in bras. Express bra tanks are awesome. The trick if you are a larger cup size is to buy the tank one size smaller. Also look for one with adjustable straps that are not stretchy....adds to the support.
I found the best ones are at Express, the ones that have a light padding in them are excellent for more coverage especially in the lighter colors.

So weird I have just yesterday started debating to myself if one of these might be good for disney trip. I definetly do not want to be obscene but I am not a little person either. I will try one on at Express and see if it works. Thanks forthe tip.

alot are on sale right now for $10. From inside sources( I've got connections...lol) .....they are having their huge semi annual sale starting around June 28th.

If you can get the "camisoles" with wider traps--you could have success...I am a full C (still a nursing momma)--I actually found some nursing camisoles that work well--I could wear them alone except that you would see all my trap doors. I purchased these at Target.

Have also had success with tops from Gap.

So it is possible to wear these things with the well endowed.

Does anyone know if these are in stock now at expres sor Gap?

They are definitely in stock at Express and I was at the gap outlet today and they had a ton. I'm sure the regular gap store would have them too.

I wear the ones from Wal-Mart... But then again, I am the oddest shaped "pooh-sized" girl in the world.... Big girl, with no chest hardly... So, I fit into the tops fine, I usually worry that I am being judged by wearing a tank top.... I am shaped small up top, wear only a size 12-14 shirt, or a med.. but... bigger pants.. LOL... I also have a large rib cage, and my dear darling mother has said in the past that I have " wrestler shoulders".. because they are broad.... So, I have no problem with the built in bra, and actually thank god for them ( because I think bras are evil, and are OBVIOUSLY invented by a man) But I alway am so self conciouse wearing a tank top... I have been debating on buying some for disney......

I am self conscious, also. I found a nice Land's End tank with bra type thing inside and wore that the other day. But I felt like everyone was looking at me. I am not very big (36B), but you could see the nips (can I say that here?) and that made me self-conscious.

Are any of these other tank/bra shirts better at hiding that part?

Thanks!!!

Dawn

I find the "thicker" the bra lining especially if it has the pad--the better it is at hiding the "....". The only time I have a problem is initially adjusting to a cool AC'd space--or a splash on the mountain. But it is such a minor problem given my tank choices and hardly noticable except for me the self conscious one. Other than that--you should be okay.

As far as self conscious--the day I can donate to the cause of augmentation for someone who would like it--I would be sooooo happy--I would love to be 1 size and 1 cup smaller. In any case--the more support I have the better...and tanks are just a fact of life in Florida--the only time you might be judged (not that it is right to do so) is when you are revealing a little too much--if the top of your tank is severely close to that item mentioned in the first paragraph or look like the ladies will fall out--then that is a bit much.

If you are conservative in your tank choices--you would feel much better and shouldn't have to worry so much.

It is hot down here and they are just so nice to wear--so ENJOY and don't forget the sunscreen!

p.s. a beauty pageant tip--you can tape down the saluting ladies if it really bothers you--that is how you don't see them on those tv pageants.

I wish I could find something comfortable.:( I've been looking for a while now. The built in bra tank tops don't work for me. I am truley a pooh sized girl with a top like Jessica Rabbit! I can't find a bathing suit or anything else that has enough support. I just rely on alot of powder to keep me dry. I also put napkins or tissues in my bra and change them often. If there are any girls like me out there that could suggest something I could use I would be forever grateful:D

Not sure if this will help anyone or not, but I picked up some tanks with the bra insert at Target for $8 or so. What I liked about these, is they were a true tank, not the spaghtti strap kind. I feel more comfortble in these. Somehow I feel like I am showing too much with the spaghetti straps (that's just me, though).

The bra support isn't great, but I am a B cup and I find it acceptable for me.

Wow! Glad to here that there are others with same kind of issues as me. I have been scoping out the tanks with the built in bra, but never taken the plunge. I saw some at New York & Company/Lerner's that looked as if they had a lot of support and padding. They are buy one get the other half off. So pay 20.00 for one and get the other for 10.00. I am going to check those. Hopefully they work. I am always envious of the spaghetti strap wearing members of our sex. Thanks for the info!

I have to do this with my halter tops & tanks with the built in bras. It works great as unfortunately I always appear to always have my hi-beams on . my husband laughs when he sees me getting ready but it does work wonders & no trace of nip is visable..
