I collect all the classic Disney films and I had them all on video and am slowly switching over to dvd. Well I just finally got jungle book this week and one of the few I have left to get is 101 Dalmations. I have tried to see if and when they will be re-releasing it and when I went to Disney.com it is not even listed on their site. Does anyone know anything about this? Is there something about this movie like Song of the South that they are maybe not goign to release it on DVD? I would really love to have it someday on dvd as my vhs copy is really old and worn. Does anyone know? And sorry I know this is not the place but I know there are many disney fanantics on here so I thought someone might know.

I don't have an answer but don't sweat it - I think other dissers welcome questions like this - i do!!!

I just read on another site that 101 Dalmatians is being re-released on DVD next March -- this time as a Platinum Edition!
So you might want to hold off on getting that older release....

Do you know which site? Not that it matters but I was just surprised that on the Disney site it had no mention of it at all like it never even existed. I agree I would much rather wait and get it from Disney itself then buy it off Ebay. I like the special editions with all the goodies and I just thought it was weird that they didn't even mention it. They have a section on Disney.com that mentions all Disney movies ever made and you can do a search and it brings up pretty much every Disney movie and that one doesn't even come up. Even ones that are in the "vault" it just says they are not available right now. But for 101 it didn't even have a match. That was why I was wondering if something was fishy.

But I am glad to hear that it is coming out because as I said I had them all on vhs but wanted them on dvd because all my old vhs tapes are pretty worn out LOL. The kids have watched them so many times they are pretty worn and plus I like the new editions with all the extra info. I just love the jungle book with all the interviews and making of stuff.

Thanks for the info and I will be eagerly awaiting March!

If you have opened your copy of THE JUNGLE BOOK, on the back cover of the insert, there is a note that says 101 Dalmations Platinum edition is coming out next spring, and Sleeping Beauty next fall. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah! I didn't even think to turn over that paper!! Woo Hoo! How ironic too! That is the one I was needing. I should have known it was coming soon cuz I knew it had been a while since that one had been out. I have been collecting these things for the last twenty years, first the videos and then the dvds as they came out and that was one of the last ones I needed. Of course now they are coming out with the special editions. OH BOY! But I don't think I will be replacing all my dvds now with the SE's LOL. I already have the SE of sleeping beauty so I doubt I will get the "platinum" edition but some of the movies I have on dvd aren't "special editions". I guess it just depends on how much I like the movie. It also depended on when I bought it. Since I didn't already have Jungle book on dvd I was lucky that when it came out I was able to buy it in the platinum form, and the other cool thing was on my version it had a coupon for 3 bucks off Meet the Robinsons!! :)

But I probably won't replace ALL my dvds! But thanks so much everyone.

I KNEW you guys would know! You guys rock!! :)

on my version it had a coupon for 3 bucks off Meet the Robinsons!!

I'm pretty sure that coupon is only good for the BLU_Ray version of MTR, and, they had to be purchased together:rolleyes1

That was my interpretation of the coupon.

Well it says Blu Ray AND Dvd but I wondered about if I had to show my receipt showing that I already bought the Jungle book. What a flippin crock. I am going to take it with me and see if it works but you are probably right. What a rip off! Figures.
