What's the deal with the hotel rooms in the castle at WDW? Has anyone seen the price? I heard they open in December. Is that correct? If so, how many rooms are there?

Just curious. A friend at work is thinking about popping the question, and since I largely live vicariously through others, I've been feeding him bits of info about proposing at WDW.

My computer is so aged that I can't get anywhere on the internet anymore. I am missing having access to the Disney sites. Guess it's time to save up for a new one, eh???

It is my understanding that they are for people that the "dream teams" pick out 1 family a day will be chosen to sleep in the castle chamber per night . It is part of the Million Dreams promotion .

I talked to a CM about this 2 weeks ago while I was there .

Does anyone know if they are doing any neat like this in Disneyland ?

Yes and it happens a month earlier in DL but it's not at the castle .

It's called Mickey's grand suite at DLH or something like that.

Same thing one family per night gets it for the night.

Haven't seen any plans for hotel rooms for the castle (nice rumor, tho) -- just the one suite that they're using starting in January for YOAMD. There are certainly lots of lovely, or fun, places for a proposal around the Parks, tho -- when you're at a better computer, you can search for ideas -- there have been threads about it.
