Reading over documents and it clearly states no sodas/snacks may be brought on board. Yet I have read of many people who recommend bringing your own. I was going to bring some canned drinks, and 1 bottle of liquor...either purchased in Orlando or in Key West. Is this allowed or not? Thanks :)

Where did you read that no sodas are snacks are to be brought on board? It's not a problem in the least to do both! :)

Michelle...it was in the document package, under coolers I think.

I had no problems at all taking 2 12pks of soda for our recent 2/8 cruise. I took them in our carry ons and then used the empty bags for the trip home for souvenirs.

Donna,

We stopped off before heading to the terminal and picked up some soda, water and snacks. We had them in the plastic bags from the store and breezed right through security and onto the ship with no problems. We also saw guests boarding with a 12 pack of beer with no problems. I think they're limiting the coolers 'cause they don't fit through the x-ray machines well; more of a security issue I guess. I would say as long as the amount you are bringing on is reasonable, they'll let you through.

In my "Passport to the Magic" with a revision date of 9/02 it only states that "homemade, pre-cooked or other perishable items plus any open snack containers may not be brought onboard."

Bringing sodas and packaged snacks that are not open is not a problem at all. :)

DopeyRN, I have the docs for my cruise in front of me...

It reads...

"Personal coolers may not be brought oboard except for those needed for medications, baby food, or items related to a dietary constraint"

It doesn't make reference to bringing drinks on board. They definitely are allowed.

I went back and looked again...it is under what not to bring and says sodas...but hey, I wanted to bring it so I am thrillled to hear it won't be a problem!! Thanks ya'll!!

Donna, that's just referring to stuff brought in coolers. You'll be fine bringing it in regular carry ons. :)

Enjoy your cruise! :)
