The app is the most accurate. Does your phone by chance have a "battery saving" mode? If so, try turning that function off. It helps immensely with my phone and the Disney apps. I always have to turn off my battery saver and no more app crashes.

I think Touring Plan's app has wait times, but I think you have to have a paid subscription to access that part of the app.

Disney most likely doesn't give any 3rd party access to 'real time' wait information, if such a thing actually exists. They would need some kind of line sensors on every ride to do that.

Most 3rd party apps use user submitted "real time" wait times. They aren't usually accurate only because there aren't enough users submitting times frequently enough to be accurate.

Like @DLgal mentioned, there are 3rd party apps that list wait times. True, they aren't going to be as accurate as MDE, but give you a good general idea. I use one on Android called "Wait Times for Disney World" (VersaEdge software). Its very simple and loads fast...

Yeah, Touring Plans has their Lines app, which has both official Disney wait times and “real” wait times, but it relies on user input so accuracy can vary a lot.

If you’re a subscriber anyway it can be a handy tool, though.

Just got back from WDW and used the Touring Plans Lines app and it was crazy accurate in my experience. Posted wait time of 45 minutes for an attraction, but Lines said it would be 31. Walked on the ride at exactly 31 minutes. All week it was never off more than 2 minutes. We've had a TP subscription for years, but this was the first time using the app, and it was a handy tool to use. I was impressed with it.

We used it for the first time in October and had a lot of success with it. Just as valuable as the current wait times imo is the advice to go now or wait for shorter times. It was spot on and we never waited more than 20 minutes in standby.

Chiming in to say I have also had a ton of success with the Tour Plans Lines app. I've found it to be extremely accurate on all of my visits, to within just a few minutes of estimated times, not even over five minutes. I try to input my times as well to keep it going for others. Of course your experience could definitely vary but I've always had great luck with it and will continue to use it.

As a PP said it tells you "go now, lines will only build" or "wait, lines go down" etc. It's been super helpful to me.

Touring Plans app is worth every penny just for the wait times. We used it our entire 10 day trip and it was always accurate. We noticed Disney over inflates their wait times a lot. Many rides would have the sign stating 45 minutes and the app would say 10 minutes. It was always within a few minutes of the time stated by the TP app.

Touring Plans is way more accurate than MDE imo when it comes to wait times.

Especially because MDE often inflates times or jumps/drops within a couple minutes drastically.

We use one called Walt Disney World Wait Times (by VersaEdge) and have been very happy with it. When we are in parks we submit times for every attraction we ride or walk past.
