We have a wonderful digital camera- new and after our great Disney vacation this past week went to install the card driver to look at our pictures. Problem is, our computer has Windows XP and the card driver installation disk for the Mustek camera is a 7-in-1 for Windows 98 or Windows 2000. Of course, the help line for Mustek is closed until Monday and being the impatient person I am, we'd love to find a way to install the driver.
For those of you who are technogically adept, any advice on how we can accomplish this? Thanks so much for any assistance you might provide. Caroline

If you install the program and then go to the properties for the program you can change it to run in comaptibility mode of 98/2000. \
This is one of the things that bothered me always about XP! Try and see if changing the compatibility works. ( right click on the program icon and click on the compatibility tab)

Hope it works for you

Have you tried going to the camera company's website to see if you can download the software from there?

Windows XP sucks big time(We can't find a new printer fpr DH's company laptop because of it)! But I'm no computer expert so i haven't a clue what to do!

Do you have a Wallmart nearby? Mine has a digital photo copier-you put your stick in and print copies of your pics for 29 cents each-one hour developing even.:D

Thanks for the quick responses... here is what i have discovered,..I went to the Mustek website- they have downloads available for the first 2 models but not for the Mustek 4000 - my luck!
Next, when i put in the installation disk, this message appeared - Your system runs Windows XP, before continuing, make sure the demoboard NOW and let Windows load native drivers. Please explain what the heck this means? Sorry- as you can see computers are not my forte!

I have been to Wal-mart twice in the past day to have pictures developed fro this great scrapbook for our grandson from poictures i used a traditional camera for. Thought that having a digital would be great...maybe when we figure it all out, it will be. Thanks. Caroline:wave:

I'm no computer expert either, but I know that sometimes Windows XP has its own drivers for pieces of hardware. The message you got (which seems to have been written by someone for whom English is an additional language) may mean, 'let XP install its own drivers'. (I'm guessing!)
What happens when you plug the camera in - does XP recognise teh camera and try to install the drivers? If not, maybe you could use the Control Panel/Scanners and Cameras to add your camera.
