Hi guys, I have posted a few questions on here to see if any of the other Disers out there have ever seen my fave character who just so happens to be Mr. Jiminy Cricket and I got a lot of different answers so I decided to ask the Cm when I called Wdw today to order our MNSSHP tickets. I asked here if there was any way to find out where he is or where he usually frequents.....after being on hold for what seemed like an eternity she came back on the phone and told me that Jiminy Cricket was a character that was not and never has been, available to meet and greet, I asked her are you sure because I have spoke with several others who have seen him around Italy and on the Characters on Holiday Bus in Epcot, and she proceeded to insist that he is not available and nor has he ever been, which I know is BS because people have actually posted their pics with him on here. She said the only thing in the parks jiminy style is some narrations that he does, I am assuming the part in Wishes. What should I do?? I really want to see Jiminy!! Is there somewhere you can call and check or is it in the Times Guide where the Characters are located during the day. I still think that Cm is majorly uniformed! Please help me locate Mr. Cricket!!!

spreadsheet, it is off some website, and it has a "revised Dec.15, 2002" and is titled "Where in the World do I find characters"

Jiminy Cricket IS listed.
This is dated like I said, but claims he can be found in Fantasyland skyway landing ???
Fantasyland Festival ???
and Italy in Epcot

We just missed him last week in Italy at Epcot! He was there with Pinoccio & Gepetto.

I was in Italy at Epcot this last May and lo and behold who did I see but Jiminy Cricket! He is my favorite and we watched him being chased around by little kiddies for about 10-15 minutes. It was really cute! They would go up to him to try to get his autograph and then he would take off and they would run after him. I thought it was funny, but maybe you had to be there! Anyways, I am a witness to a Jiminy Cricket sighting!!!

We saw him at epcot in the World Show Case. My sons have his autograph in there book.

We had just come off Test Track and there was all kinds of Pinnochio characters but I was awestruck by Jiminy. In my 30 plus years of going, had never seen him. He was adorable. My son got a fabulous picture with him and an autograph. I don't know how to post a photo but I would to prove it !

The CM needs a refresher course in Character Awareness !


ps When we were at EPCOT had to go to First Aid. While there asked about DS favorite character, Quasimodo. She called a number and asked them if he was going to be there today and where. Clearly it was something a CM is able to inquire about, although it may only be on a daily basis, I don't know.

We saw him in June at the front of Epcot for the 2 character bus show. My DD 5 does not really know who he is but I made her wait for a picture. She will be happy one day after she sees Pinnochio. If I knew how I would post it.

The day you get into MK I would ask a CM where he will be. I have heard that people have done this and have good results.

We know exactly the frustration you feel! We also met some clueless castmembers who simply have no real knowledge or enthusiam about characters. I found the worst were at Guest Services at Magic Kingdom. One time, I went there to ask about finding Brer Bear. The castmember made a call, then proceeded to tell me that Brer Bear is no longer making appearances in the parks, and has not been in a long time! I knew that was wrong. Sure enough, when I leave Guest Services and go back on Main Street, Brer Bear comes out that very second!!

As for Jiminy, as like others here, we met him getting off the Epcot Holiday Bus. We were pretty thrilled, to say the least! He is most certainly a "greetable" character! He is really rare, though, but you may get lucky! We find asking castmembers at our Disney resort Guest Services the best place, as in the morning they seem less hurried and more agreeable to help.

I knew she was not correct!! I knew I had remembered others having seen him, so I will keep the faith and ask the hotel guest services when we get there and also on the day we will be going to Epcot, it seems that most encounters were in epcot, maybe he will be on the character bus or in Italy, I hope, but it just ticks me off that they are telling people things that just simply aren't true. I can only imagine the info that most of the regular wdw guests don't get acess to because they don't know about the insider tips or these or other boards and they just book a package through WDW travel company. It just makes me mad sorry guys for complaining, but I just hate it when someone tells you something that you know for a fact that isn't true and wants to insist that it is the gospel acc. to disney. All I can say is I will keep my eyes peeled and ask around. Thanks for all the info.

.. you can find him (if on no other day and in no other place) at the Magic Kingdom on Earth Day. Why, you ask? Because Jiminy Cricket is Disney's mascot for 'Environmentality' (Disney's effort to educate and participate in things to help save/protect the environment)

Every year he stands in the rose garden for autographs and photos and even hands out buttons!

..other than that I have never seen him. As a previous poster said, you can try asking at Guest Relations when you arrive and they maybe able to find out for you.

I just wanted to add that when you get to a park just ask the first CM you see that is a "handler" for any character (couldn't think of another word for it - ya know, they walk the characters out & stand there to control lines etc) - as soon as you see one just ask them - they have a walkie talkie to find out for you & also, that is their specific job description of working w/characters & should definitely know - that's how I found Beast one year at MK - I asked the girl who was w/Capt. Sorry to bring back an old thread but I just wanted to add that on 8/13 I was watching disney shows on the travel chanel and JIMNY was on the holiday bus in Epcot!!! Just thought this was funny that some cm's can be so clueless. If you get an answer you don't like ask someone else until you get an answer. Happens all the time to me lol......but then again us disers are hip to alot of stuff cm's aren't.

I think it is unreasonable to think that any CM can know the answers to all the questions they are asked. At least this CM went for additional information when they didn't know the answer themselves and obviously was told "no" by a more senior person. I also think as a rule that the CM's do a great job with all the questions that are thrown at them.

While that may be very well true, I do not appreciate getting different answers depending on who you speak with I would rather be told "I don't know" than be given misinformation any day. I was told information that I clearly knew was not correct, I am not saying that Cm's don't know how to do their jobs I just would appreciate if they were not telling guest conflicting information.

When it comes to the CM that didn't know the answer to your question, I was told by another CM that many CM's that you talk to on the phone have never been to WDW and do not know much about the happenings inside the park. The reason why this particular CM told me this is because I was told by another CM that the resort monorails don't start running until 8:00am, which I know is not true - I was told this while making PS's for breakfast in the MK. Anyway, the moral of my story is if you have a gut feeling that a CM gave you wrong information, call back and talk to another CM or better yet ask your friends here.

About Jiminy, I have personally never seen him in the many years I have been going to WDW and I would really like to also. Afterall, he sings my favorite song of all time. What I do when I want to find the whereabouts of a certain character, I ask a CM in a gift shop to call and ask and they do. They have a certain phone, a red phone (character phone) that they can call and ask where a certain character is/will be and what time. This is most convienent!!!

I get aggrievated too when I get a CM that doesn't have a clue or tells me something I think just isn't right.I agree with what slo said...just call back and try again!

Jiminy Cricket was here several years ago when the Disney Store opened at the mall.I had never seen him before that but have spotted him in Italy since then.
