I know other brands are cheaper, but I MUST HAVE _________!

Diet Pepsi! I can stand store brand soda in any other flavor, but for cola it's got to be Diet Pepsi.

Scott's toilet paper, Heinz ketchup, Morningstar Farms vegetarian products.. that's about it. I do most of my shopping at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.. so Trader Joe's brands are something I use a lot.

Hunt's Ketchup (no HFCS), Heinz 57 and/or A1 steak sauce (yes, I know, THAT has HFCS, its for DH and he doesn't care), Tillamook yogurt (its a NW US brand), Mountain Dew Throwback only (DH is the only soda drinker, and it HAS to be Mtn Dew), Folgers coffee, International Delight coffee creamers (and only a few specific flavors), Special K Vanilla-Almond cereal, Skippy Honey-flavored creamy peanut butter, and Secret Southern Peach deodorant.

I think that's about it, everything else is fair game to be store brand, or whatever's-on-sale brand. My only criteria is I always read the ingredient labels and I try really hard not to buy things with HFCS or MSG. I also try to buy Organic and/or local when possible and/or reasonable.

Dukes Mayo
Cottonelle TP
Merita Bread
Ragu Pasta Sauce
Krusteaz Waffle Mix
(husband) Mtn Dew...he's the only one that drinks soda in the house and it has to be Mtn Dew

Everything else is pretty much negotiable LOL We buy a lot of the same stuff time and time again but then if price gets out of hand or another brand comes out with a great coupon, we'll try it.

Heinz ketsup, Hellman's mayo, Cheerios, Kellogs Rice Krispies (for rice Krispy treats other brands come out yuck!),Skippy creamy natural Peanut Butter. For hubby old spice deodorant, diet coke, coast soap, charmin TP and our store brand instant oatmeal!

Heinz ketchup
Miracle Whip
Northern Quilted
Oscar Mayer bacon
Jif smooth pb
Coke zero

In the past...
Merrick's brand dog food for my dog. And if I ever get another dog, I will stick with them.
Charmin - I actually preferred version before they came out with the "strong" (in the red) and "ultra" (in the blue) is just too thick.
Most cereals I can't do in store brand, at least out here. Some I used to be ok with on Publix brand.
Crest with Scope, not the Outlast - I used to be solely Aquafresh, now Crest.
Tropicana or Florida Nature's OJ - I HATE any juice made with concentrate stuff. And Simply Orange tastes funny to me.
Right Guard clear solid - I hate regular gels, and solids don't feel like they do anything. I can usually find good coupons for it, and the drugstores usually have it on sale. But it's getting harder to find.

Most other things, I was ok with Publix brand stuff... but there's a few store brands I can't stand.

I really didn't think I was so brand loyal until I started thinking about what to write. I realize that I am VERY brand loyal...who knew?

Heinz Ketchup
Hellmans Mayo
Land o Lakes Butter
Skim Plus skim milk
Floridas Natural OJ
Crisco
Barilla pasta
Mrs. Butterworth syrup
Advil & ADvil Cold and Sinus
Bounty paper towels and napkins
Charmin TP
Tide
Cascade gel tabs
Secret
Philadelphia cream cheese
Breakstones sour cream

Wow, there are probably more too.

Ghiradelli brownie mix

 They have a brownie mix?! I must find it!

Hmm, my list:

Tide or All F&C detergent
Downy w/ Yellow Cap (white vinegar for towels and most clothes but use just a splash of Downy in sheets and jeans)
Tom's flouride free toothpaste
BABW - candles, wallflowers, and antibac soaps
Juice Beauty - Cleansing Gel and Blemish Control Serum
Coffee Mate Italian Sweet Cream :lovestruc
Yoplait yogurt
Horizons Whole Milk
Oscar Meyer deli meat for kids lunchboxes

Oddly enough, we HAVE to buy store brand of two things: Equate versions of Head and Shoulders (for DH) and their knock off of Dove Sensitive Skin Liquid Soap (Me). The "real" brands of those cause DH and I to break out.

Great idea for this thread, OP.

Publix deli Tavern Ham.
Nothing like it, IMHO, not even Boar's Head. Was glad to move back to the SE where I could get it.

Have used Scott regular TP for 50 years!

Dukes mayo
Miracle Whip
Kellogg's Frosted Flakes
PopTarts
Charmin
Lubriderm lotion
Aquafresh toothpaste
Glide dental floss
Dove antiperspirant
Right Guard "
Dawn dish soap
Electrosol dish tabs
Aveeno moisturizer
Neutrogena face cleanser
We will use many store brand food items but really prefer name brands for cleaners and health and beauty products

Here are mine:

- Heinz Ketchup
- Secret Deodorant (for me)
- Name brand cereal - I tried all the store brands & just don't like them
- Charmin or Cottonelle TP
- Cheez Its
- Kraft Mac & Cheese
- Holsum White Bread
- Shenandoah Brand Ultra Pasteurized Skim & 2% milk (even though it's much more expensive)
- Breyers or Edy's Ice cream
- Pampers diapers (when I had little ones)
- Huggies wipes
- Leggs pantyhose
- Bounty or Member's mark (Sam's club) Paper towels

I guess I'm not so much a brand name snob, huh?

Yankee Candles, O.B. tampons, Hellman's mayo, Kraft Mac and Cheese, Most cereals... that's really all I can think of right now.
I am pretty picky about clothes and shoes now too. Especially for kids. I finally realized that spending a bit more for a decent brand made more sense than having to replace the item all the time.

 They have a brownie mix?! I must find it!

They have Muffin mix too :lovestruc and it's to die for the only muffin mix I'm brand centric about.

The others:

Tide
Dawn
Jif
Land o Lakes Spreadable Butter
colgate
h20+ lotion (the kind they give away at WDW resorts :thumbsup2 )
++++++

Viva Paper Towels

It's funny for me to read threads like this. It makes me realize how not brand loyal I am. :goodvibes
