I know Ive asked before but I need "Disney Wedding Planning for Dummies":lmao:

Can anyone tell me what the FIRST thing i should do is?
Call dftw and do what? Tell them Im interested, Im comming in July and I want to see places? If they say no do I cry? or beg:worship:

Thank you!

I called DFTW first and got in touch with a wedding consultant. she has all my info with dates and everything, I scheduled a site visit thru her and even got a written proposal.

They won't say no to a site visit, but I would say call Disney first, so you can get the WC

The first thing I did was fill out the info on their website and got a generic e-mail. After the e-mail and was ready to talk to someone I called e-mailed the person who had e-mailed me and asked about a site meeting. Then signed a contract and am waiting to hear from someone... Good luck with your planning!

Okay I have to do that now... Thank you!

We started out by looking at the Disney wishbook site and sample menus. We then had a tentative idea of what we wanted.

We then, at about the 1 year mark, called DFTW; I left our contact info and our tentative dates with the guy who answers the phone. Then, Bill from DFTW called Rob; he emailed us info packets and meal and bar packages. We also set up a site visit through Bill; we're going down in about 2 weeks to do the detail stuff.

We signed our contract at the 11 month point and were assigned Celeste as our wedding planner a few weeks later.

My advice is to have a good idea of what you want before you call so that you are prepared to answer questions and give the coordinator a sense of what your needs will be.

Hope that helps!

Thank you, it DOES alot. I just need to be sure of things before I get into them lol.
We basically know what we want. We are a bit confused still with whether or not we want the buffet breakfast or dinner.... but we will see. Vins family is not big on buffets BUT there are SO MANY picky eaters that we almost have to (PLUS we LOVE breakfast and want to stick to that lol)

So I guess all I have to do is wait for mister perfect to call

I called Disney and left them my information. Bill from DFTW contacted me and I told him the date I wanted and where I had wanted to have my ceremony, reception and DP ( I had already researched while I was waiting for a phone call). Then he marked me down for my date and sent me an email with menus, save the date information and how things work (time line). Then I called him up and said I wanted to go ahead with booking for sure. Since I was close enough to the 8 month mark and February isn't in big demand he sent me my contract. :cutie:

I got engaged on a Saturday and was on the phone with DFTW on Monday! They took my info and it took a little while to hear back from someone. I would call them and get the ball rolling!
