I know what gives with this weather. They are forecasting rain again for tomorrow and Friday. I am just amazed.

ugh I have a feeling it will be hot when we're there 2 weeks from now. I live in N. Cal, but today it was 90 degrees after a rainy spell & highs in the 60s/70s.

The hardest part for me on this trip is not telling my DD7. She has a Girl Scout function/camp the weekend before we go to DL and we don't want the excitement of DL to override the GS event.

Oh I cannot not even imagine trying to keep a trip to Disneyland a secret. I tend to get more excited than the kids. I understand though.

Hubby and I are going to secretly plan a trip for October 2011. I can't imagine keeping it a secret from our kids, but we are determined to do it.

My dd's birthday is at the end of June and we have been to DL on or around her birthday four different times. My ds's birthday is in October and he has lamented that we never ever go on his birthday.

So, we're going to plan a trip around his birthday (toward the beginning of Oct), pull the kids out of school during the day, go to the airport and surprise them with a trip. It will be his 13th birthday and he will be beyond excited.

He has told them they have to pack to go to Grandma & Grandpa's for the week while he & mom go on a cruise (which they did last year)...then G&G are going to pick them up at 4:00 am & give them the "I'm going to Disneyland" t-shirts I bought for them....and then they'll be suprised again (hopefully) when they step off the monorail in Tomorrowland & see me & DH waiting for them....oh I just can't wait! 8 more days until DH & I arrive at DLH, 9 more until we are in the parks!

Ugh, I think you're right. It will be a bit of a shock for us! We FINALLY had our first mid-80s day over the weekend (you must be in the Sacto or San Joaquin Valley to have hit 90?). Our pool is not heated, and is only 65F because of the weather this year. So we stayed indoors and complained about the 85-degree "heat" while the kids whined about wanting to swim! We are NOT used to it anymore after the record cold spring!

Very cool! And I admire your brother's ability to keep that secret. Sounds like he's figured out a good solution to the "disappearing clothes" issue that tripped us up when we tried - and failed miserably - to pack for a surprise trip.
