February is Raynaud's Awareness Month, which I just found out a few days ago. I was diagnosed with primary Raynaud's probably a little over a year ago, and I was wondering if anyone else on here has it too?

This is probably a dumb question but what is Raynaud's?

Not dumb at all! It's a condition where the blood vessels in a person's hands and/or feet constrict in cold temperatures, which reduces blood flow to the fingers and toes. It makes the person's hands really cold and they turn colors, blue, white and red.

I'm not a teen (shhh, don't tell anyone) but I felt the need to join in on this one. I, too, have Raynaud's. Took me forever to figure out why my fingers would turn bone white but not my hands. You could lay a ruler across my hand and mark the line between white and "normal" skin. It wasn't until I got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis that I found out Raynaud's even existed. It's often the first symptom of RA (and other autoimmune diseases), so ask your doctor if they should run bloodwork to check ANA and ESR, if nothing else to get a baseline to use in the future.

oh...wow so are your hands/feet cold only sometimes or are they cold all the time?

I've gotten a lot of bloodwork done since I was first diagnosed, and no underlying diseases were found, so it's primary Raynaud's. Thank you for the information though!

Pretty much all the time, even during the summer sometimes! I don't really get the 3-color change, but my hands turn a bluish red color, haha.
