I Know It's Early...MNSSHP ???'s

We are planning a trip end Oct/ early Nov. and have some questions about MNSSHP. I understand that there is a special Halloween parade with the Headless Horseman. Does this take place ONLY during MNSSHP, or at other times as well? Also, is there Trick or Treating for children every night of MNSSHP, or just on Halloween night itself? Where does the Trick or Treating take place? The reason for so many questions is that we originally have been planning to go around the 6th or 7th of Nov., but the kids are willing to skip being home for Halloween if there is really trick or treating at MK. We went to MVMCP last year, and really enjoyed the smaller crowds, so we wanted to take advantage of another party if it was worth it for the kids.

The headless horseman is only in the parade at MNSSHP. Trick or Treating is every party. They have places marked on the park map - when we went one was by Small World, one by Tea Cups, one by the Hall of Presidents. There were probably more, I can't remember. They give you a little orange bag when you enter the park.

The headless horseman rides the parade route a few minutes before the special MNSSHP parade. This only happens during MNSSHP. The best place to watch is in Liberty Square right in front of the the riverboat. There is a reading of the story of the headless horseman and then the headless horesman rides through at the end of the story. Go for the late parade and be there early (at 45 minutes) as this area really fills up fast.

Trick or treat stops are scattered throughout the park. You will get a special map that indicates where the stops are. I believe there were about 15 stops when we were there in 2003.
