The CM actually told you there definitely won't be any August discounts?? I booked my August honeymoon at AKL at rack rate a couple of days ago, and the CM seemed really positive about the odds that a discount will appear for that time period

I think you misunderstood the OP. She was saying that there are codes for 5/28 til 6/3, and then there is the 40% code(for those lucky enough to get it) late Aug till Oct. But that the time frame she's looking for there was nothing available.

I just called to get prices and mentioned one of the codes and she said a PIN is associated with it and if I didn't show it at check-in they'd charge me the regular price! Just a FYI...

I did...I called back on 2 other occasions and they told me the same thing. That I need a PIN for that and that I would need to show proof at check-in or I'd be charged the regular price.

hmmm... well, it is a YMMV kind of thing. If I were you, I would keep trying. Can't hurt. Have you tried calling different numbers? ie. the 800# and the 407#

and was told I had a pin on my name...so I jumped...I have nothing to physically show them but the 4-5 times I called trying to decide on dates and places [very limited choices] they pulled up and saw pin...one time a CM asked me for the 3 letter code, I told him I had no idea but that I had a pin with my name in their system, he went away and came back and said 'oh I see it...' [He was reallly clueless...I made an excuse to get off with him and called back to talk to a better CM].

Maybe this is a line they're giving so people don't cheat the system.

A really helpful CM told me they were on mandatory overtime this month. Maybe that was their punishment! LOL.

Why would calling CRO and being upfront with CM about having no postcard or email with PIN and then having CM to still give you the discount code be called "cheat the system"? Did any of us lie? No, most of us are upfront about this whole thing with CRO and actually called back on numerous occasions, put our own reservations in the spotlight, and verified the discount status.

No one is cheating anyone here. Sheeesh.

I called today about my reservation for June 9-14 and asked about any codes for my name. There wasn't one and so I asked if I could use one of the codes I had. He tried to use it and then left for awhile. He came back explaining how he cannot book a code without a PIN and they were only sent to select people. Seems like the CRs are getting educated and the days of no PIN discounts may be gone.
