Good morning,

For three days now, I have been online and on the phone with Disney reservations. I finally booked a king room at the CBR for 8/9/08 to 8/16/08. Two adults. Room only reservation.

Well, I really want a standard room with two beds but until about 2:00 last night, one wasn't available. Then, poof, there one was but I couldn't book it 'cause either their site was messed up or my computer was.

Could somebody please go to the www.disneyworld.com website. Click on Tickets & Reservations. Then click on Special Offers and punch in room only dates. I would absolutely love it if a value became available but I know it won't 'cause the price would be too good. I want a standard room at the CBR.

I know my fellow disers will help me out here!

By the way, I want the information so I can call Disney reservations. They don't believe me when I told them what I saw online.

So, I hung up and tried again because I know I would get another person.

The first one told me no availability. The second one told me there was a standard room at Port Orleans. The third one said absolutely no availability anywhere but Saratoga Springs.

I just want somebody besides me look at their website and see what's available. Maybe I am getting an error on the Disney site. But, if somebody else sees it too, I am going to call Disney and insist that they keep digging until they find the room I want.

Why not just call if the computer is acting up?

Can't you book it online & then call and cancel?? Just curious. Maybe the CM wasn't looking hard enough as some don't really want to poke around that much Good luck !

You should just book online to get the room you want and then call CRO and drop the nights you don't need.

Was this using the Special Offer page? I can get it to give me quotes for CBR and Port Orleans if I don't use the Special Offer Page.

I stayed on the phone for 39 minutes this morning trying to talk a castmember and then a supervisor into giving me the standard room at the CBR instead of the king room. I was told that they just couldn't do it with the code. They could book me with the standard room without the code but it would cost more!

I was told last year by someone whose information I trust that availability is different over the website than by phone-not totally different but I might see something they didn't and they might see something I didn't so to always call if I couldn't get what I wanted on the site. In my case it was to my advantage as something I wanted wasn't available online but was available when I called in. Also when a guest online is "viewing" something until it times out it's blocked from other guests, t/a's or anyone else online viewing it at the same time. If you're looking at your screen when talking to DRC then perhaps you are holding the only room available. I'd keep trying too. You can always book something online and then cx your original ressie. You aren't cancelling your trip- just choosing a different room type.---Kathy

Thanks to calypso's suggestion, I was at least able to get a preferred room at the CBR with the two beds. I didn't care if I had a preferred or water view room, I just wanted a room with two beds. Would have loved to have gotten a standard room but it didn't show up when I looked. But, at least I got the two beds.

Now, I have two reservations.....1) CBR king bed room for our exact travel dates; 2) CBR preferred location with two beds but it is has additional days.

I plan on calling Disney Travel today to modify the preferred location room reservation to delete the extra days. So long as it doesn't change the price of my stay, I will keep that reservation and then cancel the first reservation.

I did have to put up two deposits but I know that I can get the first one back.

By the way, I am still watching for the standard view room or even a room at a value resort (which I am sure isn't gonna happen).

They show availability but when you try to book, it will give you an error after entering all of your information. I did the Contact Us and they said the site was incorrect. That's the same thing that happened with AAA.

Are the standard rooms showing up with the discount on the website or just at full price? Sometimes I get tired of repeatedly checking the website but I've been able to modify or get what I wanted so many times *eventually* that I can't stop myself from continuing to try. I hope the OP eventually gets the standard room with two beds somehow, some way either on the site or by phone!---Kathy
