Watch Your Ankles: The Sequel

Saw that thread! Hope Day 7 was better!!!

I need to see that one again! The only thing I remember about it is Booger from Revenge of the Nerds falling into a garbage truck or something. I'm sure there's much more to the movie than that![]()
I'm half German, but don't like to advertise it because of my "nazi skinheads stole my heritage from me" hang-up.
Oh, I probably left it back in Italy when we were getting our pictures taken. Off I went, and there it was. The PhotoPass photographer ensures me he watched it while we were gone, and I thank him, but I really never felt it was in any danger.
Same beer inside, but it's 50 cents cheaper. And there's no line. I get an Oktoberfest...but I secretly miss the Franzeskaner Hefeweizen. It's the perfect "Epcot beer", IMO. But this will do.
Cheaper beer!
Less wait!

Meanwhile, someone's peanut butter has gotten into my chocolate!
But you know what are fun? Princess pictures!
Alright, back to the food. Dylan is not eathing ANYTHING, and Kristin is NOT happy. In fact, her patience is all but gone.
Ok, Norway down, outside we go, with me tailing behind. As I enter the main walk, I pass an unusually large group of ECV riders. And they're all young, too. Huh?
Two of the guys randomly do handstands in front of the China pavilion, so I'm assuming they're cheerleaders.
They move on, and Dylan grabs what he came for..
Woohoo for representing K-Town!Back in the day, Shorty's and the K-Town Pub were some of our favorite bars

This update brought back memories of one of our EPCOT days from several years ago when Emily was younger. It started out really bad and never got any better - and it was all centered around the meals. We had a family blow out too.
The day started with breakfast at Sunshine Seasons where Emily proceeded to choke on a piece of bacon. I have an intense fear of choking (me or anyone else!) and that experience just had me out of sorts for the rest of the day. Emily was fine but it was a very scary experience.
Then we went to lunch at Coral Reef. I think we turned invisible after we sat at our table because a waiter never came. We waited and waited and even asked another server but a waiter never came to wait on us so we walked out. It was sad and disappointing because Coral Reef is one my DH's favorite Disney restaurants (atmosphere, not food).
Then lastly was dinner at LeCellier. Emily is a picky eater too. She ordered the prime rib, which she loves, but when it was brought to the table it had horseradish sauce drizzled on it. She didn't want to eat it. Normally we would have been more easy going about it but our nerves were frayed and we all blew up at each other. The walk out of the park that night wasn't the normal "floating on air, we are in Disney" experience but rather a silent, seething march out of the park usually with DH several feet ahead of us. Ugh, it makes me sad to think back about it now.
But, we've had many, many good Disney days - and meals! - since then. And look forward to many more!![]()

I had a feeling that dinner in Norway was going to be rough for Dylan, but I thought it would be the princesses not the food. I totally feel your family's pain. My DD isn't too picky and eater, but she's slow and easily distracted during meals. If I had a nickel for every time I've had to bargain with her to eat "just 5 more bites" I'd be a very rich woman. It can be irritating on a normal day, but on vacation you'd really like to not deal with it.![]()
Great photos of Emily and the princesses though!
On our WS day we saw a group of ladies in their late 30s wearing "Drinks Around the World" shirts. They were very well behaved, and I hought it seemed like a really fun thing for a group of friends to do.
Do people really think that way? When people say they are German I think leiderhosen and strudel, not wartime atrocities.
Isn't that the Milller Lite commercial? Less filling! Tastes great!
My husband and daughter tried this! She wanted to get one but I think were charging $20 for a plastic plate and a stick so we talked her out of it.
Great chapter! Thanks!![]()
Oh brother, I can so relate to what happened to you guys in Norway at dinner. That was a lot like our 'Ohana dinner. Quinn just wouldn't eat anything--wouldn't even TRY the noodles, which really made me mad, because I know they were flavored but at home he practically lives on carbs. And I still can't believe he didn't like the welcome bread. This kid had never met a bread he didn't like.
The kids are just adorable. Emily has a great little smile.![]()
Ah too bad the day ended a little sour. I may not travel with kids, but my DH and I have these spats on occasion in Disney. I feel (some of) your pain.
On an up note, the pictures of Emily and the princesses are adorable!
I'd never seen the Watch Your Ankles group mentioned on the Dis before but now having read a little of that thread, I think I lean more towards the annoyed side. Yeah sure they're just having fun but they seem pretty careless driving those things. I'd be afraid they'd run over a kid.
I loved flying out of Allentown. Awesome! So sad that Air Tran is discontinuing its service.
I loved the Bethlehem Brew Pub. Very good beer. Thanks for the tip.
I really think Dylan will eat when he needs too. I've seen some of the worst eaters start to really chow down at puberty. Be patient, although it must be so frustrating.
And I really like theb family photopass picb(I hyave to say Em looks so cute minus here teeth!).
I have to agree with Dylan...I thought the meal he ordered in Norway was awful too (and part of the reason we've never been back); but the boy has to learn to eat so as to not to cause tension.
This TR reached the middle, then grinded to a screeching halt! But not for long. Comment replies and the start of day 7 coming tonight!
I'm also behind on the other TRs I'm reading, but I'll get back to those. Promise!
I also sympathize with families with picky eaters. there is one in my family, too. nebo! course, can you blame him, when I talk him into trying something, it usually doesn't go well (like the peel and eat shrimp he didn't peel first)
More Please?![]()
YAY BEER! 100% agree with you on the darker the better.
And my DH is obsessed with IPAs and PBR is his favorite cheap beer. Quite the coincidence.
We actually just brewed our own IPA and it turned out AWESOME. We've done several batches and they're all pretty hit and miss as far as awesomeness so he's pretty stoked on the IPA being awesome.
