Cute! I thought I saw a table set up last year with Dooneys, but didn't have an interest, so I didn't see if they were princess specific. I might have to look into getting the clutch this year, especially if they are still honoring the disney visa 10% off discount in the officially race merchandise area!
I did the Princess Half last year and they definitely did not have race specific bags like these...with the race medallion on the two larger bags.
I am only doing the 5K this year since I already did the Marathon Relay and the Tinkerbell Half (where I bought a Dooney bag) so I may have to pass on these...maybe.
I am sure they should give you your discount just like any other offical WDW merchandise location...I always get my passholder discount on race merchandise.
Bummer, I just noticed the clutch doesn't have the race medallion tag. I know I would be banned from future girls only race weekends if I came home with a bigger bag since I really don't need it. I guess I'll stick with my regular shirt and maybe splurge on a mug this year
Get there EALRY EARLY EARLY on the first day of the expo for these...they are cute...wish I was doing Princess this year, but I'm planning to be there for 2013. I SOOO wanted a Tink Dooney at the Tink half, but I'm told they sold out in only a couple of hours on the first day of the Expo...unfortunately many of them went to Disney Dooney collectors and people who only bought them to resell on ebay at an inflated price....very disappointing. I'm hoping if these really catch on, runDisney will start making them available for pre-order for runners at the time of registration...or at least split their stock so the people that can only make it to the expo on saturday can have a chance!
Looking at the actual purse closer, I don't see any mention of the 1/2 marathon on the purse, just the tags on the larger bags. That's kind of a bummer for those that don't want to spend the big bucks on a larger bag.
Do they still have these Dooneys? This is what I remember seeing at the expo last year:
I don't remember them having the medallions like the new ones do though. And I do remember that they were 20% off all weekend. I'm guessing that won't be the case with these new ones after the way the Tinkerbell Dooneys sold out!
*ETA: During Marathon Weekend (only a month ago?!) they gave me a PAP discount of 20% off official race merchandise (really nice since I have a regular AP) and the CM did ask if I had a Disney Visa, because that would be the 10% discount...but she gave me the PAP discount anyway. So they were still honoring the Visa/AP discounts in January.
Hi I got the PAP discount of 20% at the Tinkerbell expo. I don't think they sold to eBay sellers. There is only one up for sale now and it's been over three weeks. The Tinkerbell is awesome. I love mine!
I am sooo planning on pre-rewarding myself with one of these. Sadly for me, though, we aren't getting to the EXPO until around 3:00 on Saturday, so I suspect that they will be all gone.

Someone might correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the princess design D&B bags are in select stores around Disney right now. The only difference is that the bags in the park won't have the 1/2 marathon dangle charm. If they are sold out at the expo, you might be able to find the purse at another store.
Seriously? That is so annoying. We are still at home and there isn't a chance. They should have known that they were going to be popular. Lame. Wonder how many will end up on Ebay?
I agree with the person who suggested that they should be ordered when you register.
I think we all need to e:mail RunDisney and "suggest" that they make the purses available to the runners/walkers at the time of registration (as they do the pins/necklaces).
That way, they are guaranteed to go to the people who really earn them by paying for the event. And they will have the money ahead of time.
Then they have extras available for sale at the Expo for anyone else who decides to purchase them and for the "others" who want to resale them (although I don't think that's fair).
I was there when the Expo opened and it was a feeding frenzy. At the very least, they should have a cuing line (Disney is the best at that, right?) so make it not such a mad dash.
