And took him all the way across country!:lmao:

My husband and I were in Maine visiting friends and family. Nobody saw me take him from his spot in the garden while at a family cook-out at my cousin's house. I was almost busted before we left though, because as we were walking to the car, my aunt excitedly said she wanted to show us the new gnome she had purchased for my cousin.

Everyone started looking all around the yard, figuring someone being funny had moved him to another spot. In the end, some other relatives that left earlier were being blamed for "kidnapping" the gnome.:rotfl:

They still don't know I'm the one that took him, but I'm planning on sending a few pics later today.:) Here are some of the pics I've taken of his journey so far. We've been having a lot of fun with our kidnapped gnome! He is going to go on a few adventures before we send him back to his home!

Later that day, Phoenix!

That's hilarious! I was thinking about purchasing a Mickey gnome when I was at the F&G festival this year. Afraid to lose it like that though.

I LOVE this!!

I did something similar when my brother was in Iraq. He had a teddy bear on the grill of his truck. I took it off his truck, took pictures of his bear in various places, and sent ransom notes - complete with letters cut out of magazines. It gave him a laugh and some other guys found out about it and also looked forward to these Ransom Notes.

My husband kept telling me a letter was going to fall into the wrong hands and I'd have military personell at our door. :rotfl:

Hahah! I love him! There was a house not too far from me who had lawn flamingos that were stolen and they had left a nasty note in the public forum of the paper, as they had just got them. After a year, the flamingos were returned with a scrapbook full of pictures of them around the world and a note explaining what had happened. I guess some college kids wanted to have some fun and took them along for the ride. Neeedless to say, that family was very surprised and relieved and the paper ended up running a story about it.

I hope you have great fun with the gnome and that it's owners enjoy the pictures of his expeditions!

:thumbsup2

Some time ago DH and I were given a University of Michigan themed garden gnome as a Christmas gift. What the heck were we supposed to do with it?! We live in a condo!?

Anyways, we decided the only sensible thing was to turn him into a travel gnome. He's now been all around the country and has his own travel blog. He's eagerly looking forward to his fall Disney vacation.

Ha! Ha! I was a bit uneasy taking the gnome through airport security. I was afraid they wouldn't let him go through because of his pointy hat, but he made it through just fine. I'm also sure some people in the airport were a bit uneasy about ME as they watched me set him up and take pictures of him.:rotfl:

Our kidnapped gnome will be going with us on a trip to San Diego in a few weeks, and we're going to try to squeeze in a weekend trip to Las Vegas next month. When we've decided he's seen enough around here, I'm going to package him up and send him home, along with a photo album of his adventures and a few items from Arizona.:)

This sounds like so much fun!!! I remember reading a few trip reports (all Disney I believe) and someone had a Sorcerer's Mickey that they snapped photos off and I think someone else had a goofy. It was too cute. And now a gnome. :thumbsup2

I'm heading out in July on a cruise to the Bahamas and then in August to the Smokey Mountains. I should find a little travel buddy. I'm a scrapbooker and this would make quite a cute little scrapbook. Now, what should I get??? LOL

We have a travling monkey..... Yea! she hasnt been anywere really cool yet. Hoping to be able to send her to visit some freinds this summer.

Those only heart pets (sold in the toy deparment) make great traving buddies. Mine was under $3 and fits kelly doll clothes. shes small enough to fit in my pocket but still big enough to get in "trouble".

Your cousins will love it! What a cute idea. Are you going to make a vacation flip book for them? That would be a neat coffee table book. :)

That little guy in the baseball cap is adorable!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You should send some pictures to Travelocity, too. They will get a kick out of them. :thumbsup2

I did something similiar to this at my office one time..

The receptionest had a small stuffed cat on her computer, that many of us were ALWAYS moving around the lobby and other places...well one day, the cat turned up missing!

Myself and 2 other people "Cat-nabbed" her, and took her to various local establishments for pis, including the local fast food joints, and even to Sea World and Disney...we created a bogus yahoo email account, and would send her pics from the cat-burglar. We did this for about 2 weeks, then stuffed her in a box, and had her delivered in the mail back home...It was great fun, and became the office joke for a while..
