Mary Ellen, your pictures are so beautiful!! It makes me want to run out and buy a new camera but with my luck my pics wouldn't turn out...unless it's point and shoot, they don't work for me:confused3

Margaritas in Mexico....did it once the year we took Jasmine for her 12th birthday....not sure if it was the fact that I had wine in Italy, but that drink totally did me in. :rotfl2:

Thanks. I am glad you like my pictures. :flower3: The camera really is amazing! Really, it makes it effortless. That and the photo editing - bam! It's done! This DSLR can be used as point and shot and the lens has this great auto focus feature. So its just a matter of how big a camera you feel comfortable lugging around and how many dineros you want to spend. I think it was worth every penny cause I am having a blast with it!

Wine and margarita - yup - that could do it!!!!!

Mary Ellen, what settings do you use when taking your action photos? I take alot of baseball and football pics, but the soccer one you posted looks much clearer than most of mine.

Ugh, that's too bad you had to skip margaritas at the Cave, but I would have done the same thing! There's no way I could go in there and NOT have a margarita, they're so good!

Love the AK pictures, I LOVE EE!!! :) AK is my least favorite Disney park, but I'm trying to appreciate it more, and your pictures definitely help! :cool1:

I have been using the sports mode when I take the soccer pictures. I use that with some of the disney pics, too. for example, I took a ton of pics of Light, Motor, Action and a ton of pics of Devine. I think I used sports mode on both of them so I can just keep snapping away. I edit the crap out of the soccer pictures. If I had a slightly longer zoom it might be easier. I am going to try to take our high school soccer pics this year. We had a dad who took them all last year and he got some fabulous action shots. His son graduated, so I am going to "try". I don't have his talent or know-how, but I'll see. I probably need a light attachment for the night games and we have a lot of those. The kids play on the turf at night (when the football players aren't practicing - of course). (Not that there is anything wrong with football, but they definitely are the "stars" at our school - soccer is an after thought.)

I am glad I am not the only one who is tempted by the sight, smell, and taste of an alcoholic beverage. No will power I tell you - NONE whatsoever.

My favorite parks have changed throughout the years. At one point AK was definitely my least favorite and now its in my top 2. I have definitely grown to appreciate AK because it is mostly a "living" park. There maintenance for the animals has to be overwhelming. I also think as more attractions have been added to AK, its appeal has widened.

Thanks, the sports mode is what I use as well. It does fine for day games, but night games - not so much, and indoor shots for basketball in an under lit gym - uggg, horrible!

Football is the top sport around here too, the others don't get nearly as much attention. My oldest doesn't play, just the youngest and I'm hoping he'll outgrow his love of the game - I love to watch football, I just don't like my kids playing it!

Good luck getting to 1,000 posts! I think my record is just under 300 or something...I'm far from a DIS trip report superstar :lmao:

I was really bummed that you didn't make it to the meet either :sad1: at least we were able to spend some time together later in the day...:goodvibes it would have been very hard to resist the lure of the ritas.....at least you will be able to down some in September :thumbsup2 Have one of their special kinds....I had a blood orange and don't forget to try the classic...it was better than any rita anywhere...and don't forget the crab tostadas that Ellen mentioned....those look delicious!!
Your pictures in the EE area are gorgeous!! I love the reflection photo and the prayer flags and the Yeti and the...and the...and the :goodvibes

What a stinker that the medicine made you miss the Cinco de Mayo meet. :(

Those are awesome pictures of Everest and the surrounding area! You really captured some of that fabulous theming!

I haven't tried any night shots yet for soccer, so I need to talk to someone who knows what they are doing. I guess I will buy a light attachment for the camera.

I'm not sure how I would feel about my kids playing football. They have been playing traveling soccer since they were in 3rd grade. I think my eldest, Brian, would have been a great football player because he has so much aggression and loves to muscle people on the soccer field. Even with soccer there can be some bad injuries, so I do worry about one of my kids getting carted on the field with a broken bone or head injury.

Well, we will have to change that now, won't we? My first TR was so terrible I never even kept the link to it. But with each TR I have made more and more friends, so that's what keeps me motivated. And I love meeting all those Dis'ers in real live - so fun!

I am dying to try a blood orange rita. I told my friend Jen about them the other day. I am not sure if Jen drinks at all, but I told her we ARE going to the Cave!!!!

Crab tostados - yum, yum, yummy!!!!!

Glad you like my pics. Just wait - cause I have some surprise photos that are stunning ( at least I think so), but they are actually of a person - can you guess who?????

What a stinker that the medicine made you miss the Cinco de Mayo meet. :(

Stupid Flagyl. At least I didn't have the horribly annoying terrible taste in my mouth the second time I took it. I think the Walmart generic must have been more palatable than the Walgreen generic!

Thanks for the :thumbsup2 on the pictures. Stay tuned for my favorite series of photos - hopefully coming up soon!

Just started and all caught up...doing my part for 1000 posts.

:welcome: Cherylsmike! Thanks for following along!!!!!!! (and for helping me reach 1000 posts :rolleyes1

Well....Is it time for an update????? I think so. When I left off last we had just finished our first AK ride of the day - EE! My favorite! It was fun! It was fast! I laughed out loud! And there was no wait!!!!!! We took a few pictures in the general vicinity and headed over to Nemo. Whenever I take someone to Disney, Nemo is on my must do list. I think its one of the best park attractions and there is nothing like it anywhere. I mean, come on, puppeteers actually carrying their puppets while singing, dancing, and acting. What is not to love about this show? And Chuck had been asking to see a show for the past two days. Ask and you shall receive!

I like seeing the early Nemo show because its not crowded. We got into the theatre about 10 mins before showtime and had an excellent seat in the first tier on the left. This was the closet I have ever been to the stage. On my last trip I took tons of Nemo pics, so I didn't take quite as many this trip. But here's a few to give you a little taste!

I swim out and then swim in, then out, then in........

The End:

Love this show! I was going to take a break from it in September, but Jen told me she hasn't seen it yet, so it looks like I will be going back for another viewing!

After Nemo we headed straight for dinosaur, another one of my all time favs! I actually skipped this ride last September, so I needed at least one ride to get my fix. I wasn't sure whether Cathy would like this, but she was game so we went right on.

Love me some dinosaur bones (Disney dinosaur bones that is).....

Great advertising, if you ask me.....

After Dinosaur I took one for the team (yet again) and went to get our FP's for Safari. I really didn't feel like it, but I did. And I am glad I did because my trek from Asia to Africa was well worth it. I happened upon a very special type of foliage.......yes.....I know you know to whom I am referring. I took a ton of pictures of this "meet and greet", but I am going to save them for my next update.

So where was the rest of the gang - well they headed over to Yak n Yeti CS to get our lunch. I wasn't crazy about sitting outside, but I have had one too many lunches at Pizzafari in the name of AC. I REALLY didn't want to eat there this trip.

In fact, I forgot something really important. I actually had an ADR for Donald's breakfast today. It was supposed to be an OOP meal. It was the last seating I could get which was 10:25. Well, considering we did not get to the park until 9:30, no one was really interested in this meal. I wanted to go, but to be honest with you I was tired of our less than efficient park touring schedule, so I figured it wouldn't hurt us to eat CS instead.

Yak n Yeti's CS was just eh. Any you know what .....THERE WERE NO EGG ROLLS ON THE MENU!!!!!WHAT?????? I heard nothing but good things about these babies, but they were not there. Now if I had been thinking clearly I would have told Denny to ask, but it didn't occur to me until now. I just took a quick glance at the menu and hightailed it over to the Safari before I decided that I was done with being the runner.

Fortunately we found a nice shady table for lunch and the temperature was quite comfortable. The food was just OK, but the scenery was nice I took a few more pictures at lunch and afterwards.

Up Next...... A Very Special Photoshoot!!!!!!

Sorry you didn't get an egg roll at Yak and Yeti! We ordered the kids meal in March which was an egg roll with rice and a side of grapes. It made a great snack! I would think they'd have egg rolls on the adult menu too though :confused3

I can't wait to see your DeVine pics :)

That is really weird about the eggrolls because I had them!!! I think it was on Sunday but yes......I had two of them....I remember distinctly because I DIDN'T have a seat in the SHADE!!! ;)

Tracy

Don't freak out but I have a confession. I've never seen the Nemo show. :scared1: If I'm being really honest I'll tell you I've never seen the movie either. :scared1::scared1:

Sorry you missed out on breakfast and egg rolls at lunch. Seems like you had a nice day in spite of these factors. Hard to have a bad day in Disney, isn't it?? :upsidedow

Sorry you didn't like Yak & Yati CS - I loved it on my recent trip.
The Kung Pao Beef was awesome and a perfect quick meal!
I'm planning Yak & Yeti TS for our next trip...

As usual, great pics!!
Too bad about missing the Donald breakfast, we really liked that one! Of course, I have yet to experience a TS meal that I didn't like! CS on the other hand, I could say a couple were nothing special. I had something like honey chicken at Yak n YEti CS once and was not impressed. Oh well.

Can't wait to see the special photo shoot!!!

We have never seen Finding Nemo (I think we are going to forget the Studios this year and do half a day at AK and do the safari, the walking trails, Tough to Be a Bug and Finding Nemo.

Love your pics, as always. We've never done Pizzafari--I just can't do Disney pizza (or Florida for that matter). We've not done the CS at Yak & Yeti (we did the table service and lovded it); we usually do Flame Tree Barbecue or go to one of the resorts as AK is usually a half day for us.

I really need to make time to see the Nemo show at AK!

Can't wait to see which Meet and Greet you ran across on your trek to get safari fast passes!

No egg rolls? That's a crime! Thank goodness for lovely shaded umbrellas and more great shots of the theming in Asia!
