I won them at a Chinese auction that my daughter's school sponsored.

This is the first year since '03 that we did not plan a trip to WDW...we are heading to Disneyland in July and we were passing on Florida this year.

Now it looks like I have a good incentive to return in 2012 :thumbsup2

Just an FYI--

I don't know what type of tickets you won. As long as they are not promotional tickets, you can probably use them this year for your Disneyland trip. This was something I learned from the Disneyland board. I was able to use some old one day WDW park tickets and exchange them for Disneyland tickets (which was awesome--since we have many 1-day tickets from booking promotional packages).

You can also exchange remaining days on non-expiration WDW tickets in the same manner.

Just make sure to look at the back of the tickets. The one's Disney sent us always had an expiration date on them.

Congrats!!!!! We always had the most tickets in that bin followed by the wine baskets.:rotfl:

I've thought about this an an option and I'm still debating. Right now, I have reservations to stay at the Grand Californian, but have been having a hard time justifying the price tag :scared1:. Using the value of these tickets to off-set the cost is appealing. However, looking for an excuse to return to WDW is also very appealing.

I'm going to sit on them for a few weeks and then decide.

Thanks to all for the well wishes, it is very exciting to have won something that keeps me connected to the magic :thumbsup2

Look at the tickets very carefully. As a general rule the tickets that Disney provides to non-profit organization are Complimentary one-day tickets and have an expiration date. Also they cannot be modified or upgraded in any way.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #5 and #15-E, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

If you are going for one, two, three, or eleven days then these tickets can be worth around $80. apiece.

If you are going for four to 10 days then these tickets could be worth as little as five dollars apiece.

Well, I don't have them in hand yet, so I am not sure I can upgrade them. Even if I can't, I know someone who is already interested in purchasing them for $75 each. At a minimum I'm ahead $300...I'll take it. At the maximum...I have a very good excuse to plan a vacation for next year. I'm very happy either way.

I won the same tickets at a chinese auction a few weeks ago- 4 one day hopper tickets- they expired in Feb of 2013 and you could not use them for upgrades etc. We are going in July of next year but we get the package so not much I could do with 4 one day hoppers.....I put them up on Ebay and the auction just closed yesterday at 425.00 which I will use towards my disney trip next year!

I just picked them up & they are the exact same tickets.

Congrats on your win too....$425 is a very nice amount to put towards your trip.
