ahhg, it seems I just go to the grocery store (with a list mind you) and went I get home I realize I need a couple more things. I've been to the store three times already this week--and it's crazy busy too. Anyone else having this problem.

I went yesterday afternoon around 3:00, fully expecting it to be super crowded and it wasn't. It was just a normal shopping day. I got 95% of our Christmas Day groceries. Thursday night we're going to a different store to get fresh fruit, vegetable dip, and slivered turkey. I expect that store to be really busy then, but hopefully we can be in and out fairly quick.

yep!! and I have to wait till friday to finish my Christmas shopping.:scared1:

Yes.

I haven't finished Christmas shopping.

Also I haven't finished grocery shopping. I did make a list of what I want to make and then what I need.

Next up is to finish the Christmas gift list. Aaaaaaggghhhh.

Same here - I have to wait until I get my paycheck tomorrow to finish my Christmas shopping and go to the grocery store to get stuff for Christmas dinner. :scared1:

Let's see I have go grocery store, bank and flea market Friday. Oh did mention go to the Atlanta airport Friday to pick up my aunt. Did mention go grocery store and they calling for snow. I am crazy.

I went yesterday to the grocery store & Costco thinking I would maybe beat the "crowd" :rolleyes1 ... well I was mistaken :sad2: ... I got most of what I needed, but I knew I would still have to go back on either Thursday or Friday anyway for the couple of things I couldn't get yet ... and needless to say, I am NOT really looking forward to it :sad2: ... I guess I don't mind once I get into the stores, (except for when people leave their carts in the middle of the aisles blocking everything & everybody :headache:), but it's the parking lots that I really don't like :headache: ...

Maybe you can fix your flat and then you can sleigh ride in the snow with no problem:rotfl2:

I haven't been out anywhere, but our local weatherman on tv was relaying a story of how he was at the mall earlier yesterday and he almost got run over twice - in the parking lot!

I've got my grocery list, but I still need to go to Costco on Friday to pick up the shrimp platter (I hate getting seafood too far ahead!).

DH works adjacent to the major mall near us - getting out to the road shared with the mall to get home has been a real challenge in the late afternoon!

Definitely! Plus, living in a small town, I run into at least 3 people I know each time I go to the store and what should be a quick in and out trip ends up lasting more than half an hour!! I'm hoping that my last trip to the grocery store will be today!! *fingers crossed*

I went to the mall with DD11 yesterday around 3, left at 5pm, and it was :scared1: Many policemen directing traffic, and other staff to find parking spots. We just had to get her friends gifts, and some snacks for her party at school tomorrow.

We just got back from downtown, but I could not have cared less about the crowds.:banana: I just got my Xmas gift, and it was the new uggs with fur. I LOOOVE them :dance3:

We do have to do grocery shopping tomorrow, but I plan on it being very early in the morning. ;)

Just got back from the grocery store, empty. Got there about 3 pm. Nice selection of Prime Ribs, Turkey, Hams and fresh Crab. Picked up a pound of fresh green beans for 97 cents, nice holiday price.

Yes, me. I went to the local Farm Market for fresh fruits and veggies for Christmas. I had orange juice on my list, and totally flaked on it. I have to go out to our other local grocery chain to get it...how will I make our Christmas morning mimosas without it? :rotfl:

ETA: the farm market was pretty busy, but not nearly as busy as it will be on Christmas Eve!

Wow....I was going to buy fresh green beans today, but they were $2.39 a pound, and they didn't look that great. I ended up buying fresh asparagus instead, for $2.99 a lb.

I just have the food shopping left to do but my problem is I can't get it all in one place. So yesterday I went to the Polish market and bakery, the meat market, and the specialty grocery. Today I'm going to go to our little grocery in town after the kids are in bed. Then tomorrow if there is anything left to check off the list I'll go to the bigger store up by the interstate.

Fortunately, I'm not going anywhere near malls or major shopping centers. Yesterday was the most traffic I'll have to deal with, and that was just little stores in an ethnic part of the city. From here on out, I get to stick close to our small town until the holidays are over. :)

Yeah, but the poster you quoted is in California. They may pay more for just about everything else out there, but fresh produce is one thing they do get cheaper than those of us in the frozen north, especially in the winter.

I figured we'd be paying more for produce here because of the freeze in the deep south. But 98c a pound is a great price...we don't even have that in the summer here!

:lmao: Not laughing at you, Colleen, but when I saw you mention "Polish market" I immediately thought "She must be in Michigan and I'M JEALOUS!"

Denise < --- former MIgander living in N/Central FL and there isn't a decent meat/fruit/veg market within 50 miles. ;)
