I've been lurking on these boards for a long while now, and this site, the DVC boards in particular have been incredibly helpful!
I've been going to Disney World as long as I can remember, since the days when my parents paid $38 a night at the Poly (they said it was expensive then!). I can't count the number of times I've been to DW, but I do know that I introduced my DW in 1992. She'd never been to a Disney theme park before, and was reluctant to go. Needless to say she loved the parks, loved our resort (PO...pre POFQ ;o) and we had a great time. Now we've got a couple of boys (10 and 12 atm) who love DW too.
I hadn't ever considered buying DVC in all the years they've been selling it (ick a timeshare), but when a friend bought in during a vacation last August, I started looking into it. Sure enough, with the favourable Canadian to US exchange rate, and a few other factors, it made sense. We bought 180 BLT points in September... yay! I understand that I might not *save* any money with DVC but having a full kitchen and all that space within walking distance of the MK will be awesome.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks! There are so many variables with a DW vacation, when you throw DVC into the equation it's pretty overwhelming! So many of my questions were answered just by searching the forums!
Oh yeah... 65 days till first trip home!
