I just submitted my first ever DVC reservation request!

I am keeping my fingers crossed. I requested a studio at either VWL or BWV for the week of May 11 or week of May 18.

I submitted via the web since I never have time to call during the day.

I can't wait to go home!

My first ressie was via the phone, but I know what you mean about being excited to make the reservation.

Let us know how it comes out...I would think with the flexibility of your request they should be able to help you out there.

Isn't it a great feeling? I remember our first ressie, wish I'd done it by web because phone was busy all morning and I was wondering "What did I get myself into here? I can't get ahold of them to go there?" But all worked out, even though I had to waitlist, eventually got it. What a thrill-congratulations!

I remeber that first excited/confused feeling! We are making our first trip home in a few days, and I made the reservation about two days after we closed so we were initiated into ressie making early on. Hope everything goes as well as ours did, though I always call, just because I want to know RIGHT NOW,whether I got what I wanted. Good luck!

We will be at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge May 18 to 23. We have a studio. I am so excited! We are doing the Sunday to Friday schedule to conserve points because we want to go back in September.

I have a free plane ticket coming via credit card FF miles, so I will have to do a Saturday night stay-over....we will probably book AS or a mod for a couple nights to fill out the trip. We have APs so we hope to get a good rate.

We spent one afternoon of our last trip resort-hopping and my DH just loved WL. Actually we loved every resort! We love the whole place!

I received confirmation the following day! Less than 24 hours.

I too just made my first reservation on Friday after Thanksgiving. What a feeling, when it was done. I felt like a kid asking somebody out for the first time. I didn't know what to say, what to ask for. Suprisingly (so I thought), I got my first request (studio at BCV in May). I asked for non-smoking, but they were non-committal. This will be our first trip "home", and without the kids. We are both really looking forward to it.

I just cannot wait for this process to feel like old hat.

AEN...MS will always be non-commital on any request. That's why they call them requests.

They will try hard to give you what you want, but in the end, all they really have to give you is a BCV studio for the days reserved.

Not trying to make you concerned....we have had no problem getting non-smoking as requested on our trips. But I wanted to let you know why MS was non-commital.

Granny, thanks for the feedback.

I wasn't going to even try to get into the view requests. DW and I are just glad to be going away. I am not greedy. Let those who really want the view take it. Although sometimes you think, should I request all the way to the kitchen sink and just negotiate (poor word to use) to what I really want. For my first ressie, I didn't want to play around. I am sure that I will learn more as I get more experience. Heck, I have 40 years to practice.

AEN...just to let you know...we usually ask for non-smoking and one room location request (ie, near elevators, upper floor, lake side, etc). So far, we've gotten two excellent rooms from DVC this way.

The key is to be flexible...sounds like you've got the right attitude going in and will find yourself with a wonderful vacation. Good luck!
