We got put on the wish list for 40 more points at BWV!!!

Now my question: How long do you think the wait will be? She told me they have no idea, that it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a year.

It depends on a lot of things. One is your use year. If you didn't specify a use year, it's likely it will happen more quickly than if you did. I added on 30 points in the spring and it took about 6 weeks, but I wanted a June UY. When I first inquired she had about 200 points available for June but in the week it took me to decide, they were gone. They get points in and out of inventory daily, even hourly, so there is no way to know how long you may have to wait. Good luck.

I requested a June UY to match our other 2 contracts. We have 150 VWL and 50 BWV, and we want to boost our points for BWV for ease of reservations. She said if I wanted SSR, I could have them immediately. I thanked her and said no. I didn't want a bunch of little contracts all over the place.

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get a nice birthday present - I turn 40 in November!

Just curious, if you transfer some of your points from your VWL contract to your BWV contract, does that allow you to have the transfered points and your BWV points to all count for booking at the 11 month window?

I was thinking about getting on the waitlist for a small contract at BWV, with the goal of staying at BWV every 2 to 3 years or so to mix things up. I was curious if in the years I was planning to stay at BWV if I could transfer points from one contract to the other and have it all work for booking at the 11 month window.

To my knowledge, you can't transfer points between contracts. You can book at the 11 month window with only the points you have at that resort. Otherwise, it would be a nightmare for accounting if everyone was transferring points between contracts and unfair to other owners at the resort. For instance, if I wanted to stay at BWV, I would have at max 150 points to use (50 banked, 50 current, and 50 borrowed). I could book at the 11 month window with only those points. If I needed more points, I'd have to wait till the 7 month window to use my VWL points and hope that there would still be room at the resort. You could call it home-field advantage. That's why you buy where you want to stay - so you can book early.

Can anyone else elaborate?
