I just spent 4 hours...

... trying to kill spywear on the PC.

I don't know how, but we got spywear in the computer today, and it was spitting out pop up ads faster than the DVC board locks a "how many in a room" thread.

Spybot Search & Distroy tracked it down after updating the spywear files. Outstanding peice of freewear.

I think I'll send them a contribution.

I just updated and ran my Ad-aware program today....ughhh...it found 68 files!!! Ack!!!

I do an Ad-Aware run about once a week, after updating defs. It has never failed to turn up at least a few.

virus and spywear are different.

virus change code and od harm,

spywear tracks what you do and send (in this case) the evil pop up ads.

Z - gator is a big one, I get that all the time. It's not nice. And I'm sure your evilness's parts need no enlarging. After all, one can only have ones' facemask so large.

That's where I go it. Spybot is great. It found 82 files on my computer the first time I ran it.

Yep, we had to do that last weekend too. It sure helped the computer function though! I am hoping Adsgone will take care of it from now on.
