Hope I didn't make a mistake. At $19 I figured that was cheaper than the UG and he might have a few pointers for me. It's a short trip (3 days in parks) but I thought I'd give it a go. Anyone get it and DIDN'T think it was worth it?

I know you didn't ask for good experiences, but I'll give you mine anyway :)

I love Tour Guide Mike, I love the forums, I love the people, I love the information. The people on the forums are the nicest I've ever encountered on the internet, and I actually have made several friends, and we are all meeting on our upcoming trips! Welcome to the TGM family.

You're going to love it but take your time and be prepared for a bit of a learning curve. There is tons of information there and it takes a while to find it all and plow through it all.

I used TGM and found it somewhat helpful.

I also read the UOG, but borrowed it from the library, so it was free.

There is so much helpful info here on these boards, too, that I'm not sure how much I used the other two!

So should I sign up with TGM right away, or wait until closer to my trip? I'm planning to go in May/June, 2007.

Thanks for any advice,

Sue in TX

If you have any problems, use the forums - everyone there is awesome and always happy to help. I'm on my 3rd subscription with TGM.

I don't think I've ever encountered anyone who thought they subscribed too far out. Best to get ahead of the game. You won't be sorry. He has great info on planning start to finish. Enjoy! :)

Congrats! You will find that TGM's forums are very helpful if you have questions related to information from his site.

I signed up too a few months back for my upcoming Sept trip-I seem to be reading the same things over and over-Am I the only one to find the site confusing??? ANy pointers?? :)

I love TGM. I was a bit overwhelmed and confused when i first started with it,but I am now getting the hang of it. There is SO MUCH info! I keep finding more and more. You will be very glad you signed on. :Pinkbounc  :cool1: :cheer2:

How far in advance can you sign up for TGM? I am planning on using TGM for NEXT year's 2007 October trip.

Wanted to maybe sign up to start reading in January or Feb 2007 or it that just too far out?

(Someone SORT of answered this for another poster but without dates didn't know how far in advance they were talking about!)

It would be best to ask these question on TGM's forums so that people can share info with you there. It is against his user agreement for people to discuss his site in detail here (on the DIS forums).

Hope that helps!

You can sign up for TGM as early as you like. You'll input your trip dates (approximate is fine, and you can change them later), and you'll have access until 30 days after your trip. There's no disadvantage to signing up early -- it just gives you more time to plan. I signed up a couple of weeks ago for our June 2007 trip and am already planning!

Welcome to the DIS, Sue!
You can go ahead and sign up with him now...it will not expire before your trip. You can sign up even if you don't have a trip planned YET! The way it works is that your current "membership" lasts until a little while AFTER your trip...then you get a discount if you want to renew for the next one! So signing up early will only increase what you are able to get out of TGM. Don't forget to use the link from this board to save a few bucks! :woohoo:

I didn't find much that I hadn't already learned from free sites such as DIS & AlllEars, and from prior experience at WDW. I found the "personalization" features to be not much more than a checklist I could have easily created myself without the site, the park touring plans mainly cater to commando type tourists, there was misinformation regarding ride restrictions in some cases, and information on key events at WDW wasn't updated until long after the info was available from many other places (such as this site).

I know a lot of people really like the site but, as an experienced WDW traveler, I didn't think it was worth it. Just my opinion (as requested by OP).

TGM was great for me because it was my first WDW trip which I planned 3 weeks before leaving. If you've never been to WDW and don't have a lot of time to plan, TGM is great. They have forums at TGM, but I liked the forums here better. With that said, on my next trip, I plan on using TGM again.

Have fun!

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to go and sign up for Tour Guide Mike tonite.

I haven't been to WDW since the 2000 Millenium celebration, so I think I have a lot to learn. I'm glad to know there's no such thing as "too early." I've got 4 back-to-back reservations in the works thru AAA, so this will be a bit of a complex trip, especially with Gay Days in my timeframe, too.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2
