I just saved 30 a month on my Cell phone Bill!!

That's great if you have Virgin Mobile available in your area. We don't.

Doesn't matter if it is VM; a flat-rate no-contract plan is ALWAYS going to be a better deal over a contract plan in the long run - even paying up front for the phone. (Even better, if you are not much of a phone user is a pay-as-you-go-phone; sure you'll pay for each minute, but you can keep a cell phone account alive for just around $100/yr. I have one of those for my teen; he essentially uses it for nothing but texting.)

EBay is overflowing with perfectly good used phones that have been dumped by fickle people who just HAVE to have the latest and most fashionable phone. You can almost always pick one up that is approved by your carrier for under $100.

Thanks for this tip! I just went to the Verizion site and noticed that my data allowance doubled from 1GB to 2GB. We do not need that much data, so I adjusted us back down to 1GB and saved $10 a month. I may even dip down to the 250MB plan -- we only used 184mb of data last month!

I've been reading up on Straight Talk. I'll stick with my great customer service and great coverage with my current carrier.

We found the BEST way to save on our phones...my husband got a job with our local cell phone provider (great coverage in our state, runs off their own towers, and if there are no towers available, runs off Verizon towers). We were paying $160/month with Verizon for one smartphone, three regular phones. We now pay $75/month for three smartphones, one regular phone!

Airfire?

OP, did you get to keep your current plan and get those savings?

I know they rolled out some new plan prices not long ago, but you had to buy your phone full price. Is this similar or is it the same family plan, just cheaper? Thanks!!

We have been with T-Mobile 10 years and have always had great prices and customer service! Right now we have 5 phones with unlimited talk, text and data. (Data slows down after 500mb but still works just fine) My husband pays $20 extra to get unlimited (no slow down) on his. We pay $145 a month with all taxes and fees. We did buy our own phones but bought T-Mobile prepaid ones for good prices. 3g phones, Alcatel, for kids that are really nice for just $50 at Best Buy!

I would love to have my bill be that price but with T-Mobile I cant even get service in my house- and I don't live out in the country someplace! When I had T-Mobile even if I was in the local mall I had no service, just wasn't worth the savings if I never had a signal.

Verizon has done nothing on my bill..We pay 290 a month for four smart phones..My contract is up on two of the phones in May if they dont reduce we are switching, then when the other two are up switch them as well..

Wow- I have 4 smart phones with AT&T and 10G of shared data for 160.00

My friend has the same with AT&T and told me how cheap hers went, so I am switching as soon as my contract is up..
