I just registered for the Mr. Pete Werner's (really a reincarnation of Mr. Walt Disney in heart and spirit) 2002 DIS CONvention "A Gathering Of Friends."

It was so easy to register and it took less than a minute using the direct link to PayPal. I also had my credit card pre-registered with PayPal, so I didn't have to go through that extra procedure.

I registered for one adult (I'm really a child at heart) even though the post on the DIS Boards showed one adult and I was unable to change the child on the DIS boards post from one to zero.

The first screen after hitting Pete's direct link to PayPal shows a "Payment Detail":
Payment to: Werner Technologies, Inc.
Payment for: Discon2-A Gathering of Friends.
Adults : 1
Children : 1
Quantity : 1
Amount : $150.00

Then since I was already registered with PayPal through using it through the DIS sponser program, it showed my e-mail already and a blank space to enter my PayPal password and then I clicked the continue button.

The second page was also called " Payment Details":
With the same information from page one plus "Source of my Credit Card information saying:
Credit Card: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-1234 showing the name of the credit card with the last four digits plus the amount $150.00.

Then it showed shipping address which I guess this is used for E-Bay type package sending stuff, but anyway it was just my home address and I left it their in case the DIS might mail me something.

Then at the bottom was a big blank space to add any comments to the receiver of this payment, Pete, which is where I stated that I was applying for just one adult registration and no children. I thought that this was very clear. And you could also save or copy this page to your computer.

Then you have a choice to click on "PAY" or "CANCEL."

That is why I posted this thread. To let you know not to be afraid to try the direct link to PayPal just to see what everything looks like. Guess which button that I clicked...lol?

On the third page after clicking pay, you will see "Payment Information." :
"A payment of $150.00 has been sent to Werner Technologies, Inc.. You will receive an e-mail receipt for this transaction which shows previous information plus the DIS e-mail contact information. Then I hit the continue information button.

On page four they show your personal PayPal account information.

Mine showed two things:
First: Payment to Werner Technologies, Inc. for $150.00 on July 1, 2002 and status shows completed.

Second: Transaction from my Credit Card number XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-1234 with the last four numbers and the name of my Credit Card that I already had on file with PayPal. Then for $150.00 on July 1, 2002 and status shows completed.

Done...finished...in less than a minute.

I hope that this helps those DISers that were worried about not being able to initially put a zero for no children. Or for those that have used PayPal before and now know that they can just look and choose cancel if they want too until you figure out if you can get vacation time off work or not. It will take a lttle longer, if you have not registered. You can do that on the front page in order to get your password. I would recommend adding your credit card for later quicker transactions like the one that I just made.

Sincerely, RaySharpton

Thanks Ray.. I use paypal all the time and I am preregistered myself.. (darn that ebay).. thanks for your very calming reassurance.. I am sure this will all work out..

Ray,
you just registered a child. Is there something we missed???? I see that it actually only did one person, but I think I will wait until Pete gets the zero kid option working (although I am sure my niece and nephew would go to Disney with Aunt Carol!)

LOL, Carol...no, I just registered as one adult and no children. Pete will see the comment box and understand, plus I saved a copy of the cooment box just in case.

Just a little old box that won't show a zero can't stop me from registering for DIS-CON-II...lol.

I can't wait for the official itinerary to come out, too.

Anyone else register, or am I the very first one to register.lol.

Ray - it's delightful to see you as one of the first - if not THE first person to register for DIS-CON II! I remember how a bunch of us were TRYING to let you know that DIS-CON registration had re-opened LAST summer! :D

Ray, you make me smile. :) Thanks for the info. :)

LOL Marsha...I have that Ebay addiction too!

Yay Ray! Congratulations on your registering!! :)

Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Dead of Night can keep Ray Sharpton from registering for DIScon tonight :)

Thanks Ray for being the test guinea pig. Glad it is easy and thanks for letting us know. You are a peach!

Just to clarifiy.....

Ray Sharpton is this years Registration #1!!!! I'll have to have something special for him in December (maybe a version of the site that works in WebTV....I feel so bad about that).

Pete

Yea...Whoo-Dee-Whooooo...I actually made it to be the very first registrant for DIS-CON-2...Thank you, Walt (I mean Pete).

I also got my payment confirmation e-mail from PayPal that included that message box where you can add comments to Walt (I mean Pete), and all the payment information. That's where I wrote that I was signing up for one adult and no children.

And Walt (I mean Pete), I don't ever want you to say, "I'm sorry Ray." Because this is the most wonderful, magical place to be that is second only to be actually walking under and through Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom's railroad entrance and seeing Main Street. That is magic and the DIS is Magic. Or seeing Spectromagic and the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks or Illuminations. You've created that warm, feel good feeling here on your very own "The DIS" at www.wdwinfo.com and www.disboards.com where so many other DISers help to make this such a warm and caring place to be. As a child, I always wanted to go to Disney. So I was always fascinated by the television shows the Mousekerteer Club and Spin and Marty and Davy Crockett and when the Disney Wonderful World of Color Sunday night show changed from black and white to color...wow. Walt Disney would always show parades and the different rides and te fireworks before he showed a Disney movie. That was almost like being at Disneyland.

And as an adult that is how I feel about your DIS.

That's why I call you Walt.

So who's going to sign up next?

LOL...Marsha...I wasn't calm...I was so excited that I was afraid that I would have to change my Big Dogs before I finished posting....lol...but you are very welcome. I've never used ebay to order anything before, but I wanted other DISers to see how easy it was.

And NancyIL, that was so funny last year with all of you DISers posting "Ray...WAKE-UP!!!" after I fell asleep in my La-Z-Boy chair after getting off work...lol. Thank you, Nancy.

You're welcome luvdsny, Beanie, Bashful64, and Pumbaa_.

Whoo-Dee-Whooooo!, RaySharpton
