Is it a PIN code offer you received? If so then I'd say no, it's probably not the "official" free dining plan offer for this year, you just didn't get a particularly good code (IMO of course, some actually do prefer QS).

We got that as well, actually I got that one twice.
And it actually is a good pin because for only $140 I was able to upgrade it to full dining and go at the time of the year that I wanted...we are arriving April 27, instead of during Hurricane season. If you like these dates better call and ask about the upgrade!

We have gotten it twice too via email. And another 2 one for someone that isn't us (an ex evidentally still on my Disney account)!

The dates run thru 2/28-7/3 on the first ones we got. Now the dates run thur 8/14 according to the one from today.

Good deal but not great, its not better than our AP discount, so we are keeping that. The normal free dining fall offer usually starts around 8/15 so I am looking for that one to come out anytime now, they may be using this free QSDP pin to see if they get good response and can just offer that this fall.

That is generally what is being offered with the PIN codes in 2010.

There is no general public free dining offer yet.

I've gotten 2 completely different ones this year.

One was a few months ago and was for the typical free dining timeframe. (August 15th-October 2nd) and was QS at value but regular dining plan at mod/ deluxe. This one had to be booked by the beginning of Feb.

Got a new one yesterday that was just for QS at value or mod. BUT, it was from April 11th - mid August. So, a time when there is usually no free dining at all which I found interesting.

Unfortunately no. You can't get the dining plan - free or otherwise - unless you have a package (on property room + tix)

The one I got was from April to Mid July! Weird

Thats another weird thing, We are not staying On-Site! I dont even know what pin codes are. We've never stayed on-site at Disney. (Have only been there a one other time) The only thing I can think of is that we booked a cruise for September and maybe that put us on their mailing list?

I probably wouldn't expect too much in regards to free dining this year. Free QS dining may be the extent of it. As stated before Disney is cutting back on the deep discounts etc this year.

I never believed this would be the case. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go quick service for the values, but the economy is in no condition for Disney to be cutting back on discounts:

1) witness that they just removed the Easter discount blackout dates
2) They have trained the public to expect discounts and
3) Harry Potter World is sure to siphon off some of Disney's traffic as the year progresses.

Their computer knows I do not take children therefore, WHY WHY would I go in summer? It is hot and crowded then. And I can't go for the April/May pre-summer dates available, because hello Disney, don't you know by now I need more time to plan and save $ than that LOL.

They are hedging their bets that with a discount you might go in the summer. They are trying to fill rooms; that is WHY WHY WHY!
